    Love these pants...
    May 24, 2015
...too bad they don't make them anymore. I've had my pair for 4 years now, and they've only got better with age. I do classes at a training center that have torn the hell out of some other clothing and gear, but these have held up really well, relatively speaking. I'm no fool, though: these are $20 pants - they're going to require a little upkeep and repair. I've had to repair and reinforce a back pocket and a belt loop (that was torn on bare cinder block), and have a cargo pocket that needs a little repair after some rough use. I also reinforced all the seams (especially the crotch) while I was at the other repairs. No real labor though, and these have help up very well. Couldn't be happier. I can't really say the same for LAPG's new direction - they've discontinued these in favor of the "universal" elastic waistband operators which, quite honestly, do not fit as well as these, nor are they as comfortable. Inevitable trend of economies, i suppose. Also - if you LAPG guys are reading this - combat shirts would be cool. You could knock TRU-SPEC out of the water.
    Pros:
    Affordable; durable; comfortable; no nonsense.
    Cons:
No longer in production; replaced by sub-par design (elastic waistband)

    Zipper tab breaks off
    March 17, 2015
I have two pairs of pants. Both had same problem. The zipper slider comes off the zipper. One happened a couple weeks ago, and the other one broke today. I will not be buying any more of these pants.

    Three years and still going.
    January 13, 2015
I have had a pair of these pants for more than three years. I wear them just about every Thursday night to Boy Scout meetings, and on every monthly camping trip, range trip, outside work day or just out and about. I have no rips, tears, or holes. They are just as green as the day I first put them on. I have 5.11 pants also, and I will put these up against them any day of the week. The small front pockets are awesome for cell phones, knives, flashlights, etc. The cargo pockets are great for gloves/caps, and items I need on the trail. I love them, they are my favorite pair of pants.
    Pros:
Durability matching 5.11. Price can't be beat. Nice assortment of pockets that are actually useful. The expanding cargo pockets are a plus to keep bulky items, like golves/hats from pushing up against the thigh. Comfortable and sized very well. More wrinkle free than 5.11, which allows them to be worn in a business casual environment with a polo shirt.
    Cons:
Move the small front pockets down about one inch to prevent obstruction when bending or sitting. They are not completely in the way, but they take getting used to, depending on what you put in the pocket.

    Great for the money
    June 3, 2014
Was just about to order some more of the woperator pants and read some of the reviews. Felt like I needed to add my two cents. I bought six pairs on the word of a friend and was satisfied with the product. Of course, I wasn't expecting navy seal quality for walmart prices either. I work in the pants and they are cool, and relatively durable. The rip stop comes in real handy when you come in contact with barbed wire on a regular basis. Had a slight issue with one pair's zipper being cantankerous, but other than that no issues.
    Pros:
    Price, durability, looks.
    Cons:
Sizing is a little tricky, but my buddy had already warned me to upsize. (of course I lost some weight, and now am downsizing. Figures right?)

    Plastic zipper...junk!
    May 31, 2014
Can you guys create pants with buttons or put a metal zipper on the pants? I agree with the last guys comment...the zippers are junk! I went back to walmart cargo pants and dickies, the zipper holds up better! I had 3 pairs that had the zipper split or come apart.
    Pros:
    Belt buckles Color
    Cons:
Plastic zipper Velcro...use buttons like military BDUs

These pants start off promising, but...
    May 31, 2014
I bought six pairs of these three years ago in black. The material is high-quality. The Ripstop prevented any holes from fraying or growing, as expected, the color still hasn't faded a bit, and it doesn't decompose like 100% cotton Ripstop tends to over time. The fit is relaxed and comfortable and allows me to squat down and run without worrying about an inseam rip. The plastic d-rings held up nice and got a lot of use while hiking. The reinforced patches at the base of both front pockets openings successfully prevented my folding knife clip from wearing any holes. The insides of the pockets are also Ripstop, not some cheap, thin cotton like you find on jeans. And, I like the little opening in the middle of the cargo pocket flaps. Allows you to steadily carry objects too tall to fit inside with the flap closed (Maglite, baton, fuzzy dusting wand, whatever). My only complaints, although they are big ones, are the quality of the stitching and the cheap zipper. Within a month of wearing these (I wear them every day), things began to fall off/apart. All but one of the waist-adjusting straps fell off within one year. They tend to come undone and hang on by one stubborn thread, like a baby tooth. The cargo pockets have all began to detach themselves at seemingly random places, causing me to occasionally lose a small item. Many of the Velcro closure patches have fallen off. The reinforced seat patch has begun to fall off all six pairs. At least the buttons were sewn on well. But, seriously, I have straight-up learned to sew by hand and with a machine because of the weekly repairs I have to make at this point. And the zippers all began to wear out and bust open about six months ago. I've fixed a few zippers in my day, but these are hopeless. You can tell they're about to bust open and expose your underwear (which I pray you're wearing when this happens) when the zipper fails to stay up. In which case, your undies have probably already been seen by several people. It's just embarrassing to have 10+ people tell you that your fly is down each day. I thought about buying a few pairs of cartoony boxers with hearts on them just so it would be more funny and less humiliating when the zippers finally gave. Overall, I'd only recommend these to someone who isn't going to wear them as part of their job uniform, or someone who is okay with replacing them as they fall apart. Otherwise, just buy the BDU pants with the button-fly. That's what I wore before these and they held up for 6+ years. It's easy to sew a button back on. It's impossible to repair these plastic zippers. And in case you're wondering, the zippers didn't fail because I ordered a size too small. I wear a 30" waist and I ordered the medium size.
    Pros:
Very high quality material, comfortable fit, d-rings on two front belt loops and inside both cargo pockets, color doesn't fade, Ripstop lining in all the pockets, handy slot on cargo pocket flaps.
    Cons:
Very low-quality stitching in certain areas (waist adjustment straps and cargo pockets, mostly) and very cheap zipper which tends to not stay up after awhile, then just bust right open down the middle while they're closed.

    True review after 2 months
    May 13, 2014
This is a truer view after owning these pants for two months. This isn't from the guy who bought them liked the color and posted. I ordered 3 pairs all the same size and all 3 were different tag read the same size but in actuality note 2 pairs fit the same. In fact had to give 1 pair away cause they didn't even come close to fitting me. Gave them to my brother 2 sizes smaller than me. Colors look good and did not fade but the buttons have fell off and the plastic zipper is junk as well. They say operator pants but put a plastic zipper on it come on now get real !!! Belt loops have held up and there are enough of them to wear a belt and have it work that was a nice part about these. So over all after spending $60 and two months I'm back to wearing a pair of pants I bought at the thrift store. I never did call to complain to the company but I will see if they read this review and do anything about it and keep others updated.
    Merchant Response:
Hello - sorry to hear about your trouble with our Operator Pants. Please contact our returns department and we would be happy to replace any defective pairs for you. Thanks and have a great day.
    Pros:
Colors don't fade A lot of belt loops
    Cons:
Don't know what size you'll get Buttons fall right off Zipper is plastic junk I received about 20 emails a day after registering

    Not as good
    April 20, 2014
These are not as good as the Operator Pant w/ Lower Leg Pockets. These do not have inner pocket in the thigh pocket which was perfect for holding an extra pistol on one side and tactical light in the other. The lower pockets are good for an Israeli bandage and tourniquet. PLEASE BRING BACK THE OPERATOR PANTS w/ LOWER LEG POCKETS!
    Pros:
    Good price
    Cons:
Not as good as the Operator Pant w/ Lower Leg Pockets.

    Love these pants
    April 6, 2014
My only complaint about these is that the front pocket needs to be a little bit deeper. If you like to carry a S&W J frame in a pocket holster like I do you will notice that the butt tends to stick out from time to time. My 5.11 pants do not have this problem. Other then the pocket issue theses are a much better pair of pants then the 5.11s; so much so that these are all that I wear for work anymore.
    Pros:
Fit great and can hold a bunch of gear.
    Cons:
Front pockets not quire deep enough to properly carry a revolver in a pocket holster.

    Zipper Doesn't Stay Up
    February 14, 2014
I like these pants a lot but the zippers won't stay up. First time I was notified of this was going through airport security screening. I had my arms above my head and the TSA lady told me my zipper was down. Can't wear them because the zipper is not dependable enough.
    Pros:
Cheap, extra material for a knife clip, reinforced knee and butt.
    Cons:
Buttons on the pockets should be replaced by velcro. Need a better zipper, please no buttons on the fly!

    Great utlity pant, aweful zipper
    February 1, 2014
I bought several pairs of these pants and have been very impressed with them...other then the fly zipper. The pockets do a great job of keeping all my gear in place, but I just find it hard to wear pants that is always flashing my most important gear! Can't you guys put some buttons in place of the the zipper fly, which I would prefer anyway? It can't be that expensive to sew on 3 or 4 buttons. Or at least a metal zipper in place of the plastic one. I would gladly pay $5 more for a pair of pants that has a barn door that stays shut until the animal within needs to be released. I would even pay $10 more, because the pants are just that great in every other aspect.
    Pros:
Cheap (at least for now), can't go wrong with pants that cost $20 Pockets Adjustable waste Pockets Durable Pockets No fading (at least the Navy Blue ones did not) Did I mention pockets?
    Cons:
Plastic zipper fly lasts about 6 months (or less) and then you might as well be called "Flash Gordon"

I have a 30" waist and I find the medium size is great. If you order a small, I think that they'd fit a little too tight for proper mobility. The Velcro waist cinches take up the extra space well.

They are lightweight rip stop like the old issue rip stop bdus. Better in summer than the heavier weight all cotton bdus. Hope this helps. For a lighter weight pant, Blackhawk makes a type of breathable nylon that are awesome but I do not remember the name.

Breathability could be better. Then again, I wear these in black, in Phoenix, AZ every day, and often with knee-high leather horseback riding boots (which does look totally bada**, in case that wasn't already clearly implied). But, as soon as I stand up, the breeze does quickly dry my swamp butt. I deliberated for a while on whether or not to include a picture or three of my swampy butt drying with time stamps included. You're all welcome for me deciding against doing so :P
