Description

You will not find a better fitting, more comfortable polo shirt on the market today!

We seriously challenge you to try and find a better polo that costs under $20 bucks that will not shrink, fade, or wrinkle. We have personally taken these polo shirts home and repeatedly washed/dried them on hot. We took measurements before and after and these did not shrink. They look surprisingly good when you pull them out of the dryer. They don't wrinkle and the collars do not roll. We are so happy with these polos that many of us have taken several of them home. We know we have a great item when employees want to buy it!

The fabric is a 6.5 oz weight poly/cotton blend which means these Operator Polo Shirts feel soft, comfortable, and lightweight. The shirts will have a smooth, wrinkle free look when worn that will give you a great professional appearance. The Operator Polo Shirt will work great with any embroidered badges or wording.

    Simply awesome
Quite simply put, the best polos I own, and I do own quite a few expensive ones. The material is also very soft, without looking so. I'm getting a few more. For the price of a single 5.11, you can get 3 of these, and I actually believe they are better made, and feel better on too. Keep up the good work, guys!!!

The large runs smaller than other brand tactical polos.
I have a plethora of "tactical polos." They range from Blackhawk, Vertex, etc... as well as other LAPG shirts. I normally wear large shirts and medium under shirts. These shirts feel like my medium undershirts. The measurements on these are supposed to be identical to the large Performance 100% polyester version which are somewhat loose fitting on me. I ordered three of these, and the first one I tried on, I had to peel off like a compression shirt. I'm going to return these and order one size up. Thinking that I had gotten fat, I opened up one of my new agency logo large Vertex shirts, and that fit as I expected. It's a shame... I like this material since it's a bit thicker than their tissue thin performance polyester.
ProsThicker material, so you don't have to wear an undershirt if you don't want to.
ConsLarge runs smaller than Larges of other brands.

    Can't Beat The Price
Another great clothing option for Florida heat. I just got 3 of these. The fit is good. I'm 5'8", weigh 185 and usually take a large. I originally ordered extra large but they were way too big. The large fits great. So far they have not shrunk; although I should add that my wife, the Laundry Queen, did not put them in the dryer. Very few wrinkles. The material is a poly-cotton blend that feels almost like a well made T-shirt, but with a nice collar, sleeve pen pockets and front placket sunglass loop. Like I said, I haven't had these very long so I can't comment on extended durability. But with proper care they look like they'll hold up pretty well.
ProsThin and light, yet seems durable.

    Best bang for the buck
For the money these are the best, most comfortable shirts. They wash well with minimal fading. The collar does have a tendency to roll some, but for what paid (15.99) + shipping you can't go wrong. I now have 4 of them.

    Great price horrible fit
First of all I don't want to give too long of a review as I did not wear mine after purchase. Quality wise they appear well made and I had zero issues with the material, stitching, and overall appearance. My main issue that lead me to never wear this after purchase was that they fit like a cardboard box. HORRIBLE. Boxy, ill fitting, and an extremely odd shape. I'm 6' 250 muscular build and this thing fit bizarre (I wear an XL in 5.11). Price wise for the quality- you can't beat it, and if you have the physique of Danny Devito you will probably be very happy with the fit. I gave 3 stars because the quality was great. If LAPG put a true athletic fit it on it (or at least posted that it was not- may want to add that in the future LAPG) it could be on hell of a shirt. Point being- said and done with shipping this could have paid for a 5.11 polo.
    ProsGood quality
Consif you have the physique of Danny Devito you will probably be very happy with the fit. If not, go with the 5.11

    good polo for price
I bought these polos for work about 4 years ago and I am just now replacing them because they have held up for so long and still look good. However, the new polos I have received are a little off from the first set such as the coloring and stitching. I will also need to reinforce the buttons, as they are pretty loose. Overall, the polo is great for a good price.

They run slightly larger than my Columbia brand shirts in the same size. I am 5'10" and 195 and have L in the LA Police Gear shirt. The LA shirt is definitely longer than other shirts and will be easier for me to carry IWB. Across the chest it may not be actually bigger but the cut of the shirt does not feel like it is pulling or not on straight like my other shirts. Take a look at the size chart, it gives the actual dimensions of the shirt. Measure that against your Polo shirts and see how they compare.

Depends how you intend to carry, I can appendix carry this shirt no problem but get lots of printing with other positions. Do you plan to tuck it or leave it untucked? That will change the printing/ concealment level as well.

It depends on how you plan to carry your firearm, but if you are carrying inside your waistband with the shirt untucked, it should work very well. If you have an appropriate holster, it might also work with the shirt tucked in, but I have not tested this personally. Be aware that the shirt tends to run big. I usually wear a small or medium, and the medium I ordered fits like a large. If you're a larger guy, this shouldn't be an issue. Depending on how you choose to carry your firearm, you shouldn't have any problems with imprinting.

Sub-compacts and compacts will be concealed. Full sized firearms will imprint some depending on the belt position. I'm 5'8" and 190 lbs. in decent shape, (but could lose 10 lbs.) and wear the XL. Good luck and be safe.

The thin fabric is ultra comfortable and I use for church Almost every week. The thin fabrics is ok for iwb holster of a small gun (my LCP) but it prints my compact XDm40 a bit too much to wear without a jacket. I also tuck my shirt in so that makes a difference. If your wearing it untucked I'd say it's still a bit thin to keep from printing the bigger guns. Plus there is no pattern in the fabric to brake up the shape of the gun. I did buy in 3 different colors and I'd say the tan is the best for concealment. Then the grey . Hope this helps. This is a way comfortable to wear anyplace. I'm 5-9 210 and like the bit thicker shirt to help with the printing issue . A thinner guy would be fine wearing this, just adjust the shirt size to accommodate the firearm. At this price it's well worth a try.

I normally wear 3XL. These polos are a more tapered cut than other tactical polos I wear. The fit runs true. Sleeves are just above the elbow. Shoulders are a great fit. Tails are long enough to stay tucked both in the classroom and an active day at the range. I am very satisfied with these polos.

I own both in M and S sizes and they have basically the same cut. I laid two smalls on top of each other and didn't see a notable difference in sleeve or body length. I would not consider either type to be an athletic cut. For the price I would try the LAPG version, all of my trainers prefer them over BH for various reasons. The most noticeable difference for me is the material. BH seems to attract more dirt as it is slightly more textured.
    Drew

They seem to have more of an athletic type of fit, however it's not too tight. I bought large and believe next time I may go to XL just to be safe. The Lengths are long which makes them better for tucking into pants. another better option would be to possibly go one size larger and to purchase the other LAPD Polo which is cut more for range use and has additional material under the arms and also a very long torso for tucking in. Between the two, these are good and affordable but it may be worth spending the extra couple dollars for the other Polo as it fits a bit better and is much more breathable. Either way I would likely go one size larger so you don't worry about shrinkage if the spouse dries them a bit too long.

I wear XL in all shirts. These are a good fit for me - the sleeve is about 1" above my arm bend. The length is good. I can tuck it without it coming out when I bend. If I leave it out only a larger holster will show. I am a little bigger in the middle and they fit me - so that may still be a problem. I have been using these shirts for about 4 years and will continue to buy them for the quality and the great price. Hope tis was useful

Our OD green is similar in color to the 5.11 LE green but the LE green does seem to be just a bit darker.

I've owned several of these shirts. In fact I just bought another last week. I personally have not experienced any issues with color fade or pilling. The collars roll a bit on the end, but otherwise very good quality! I'd rate the LAPD apparel a 5 for value/cost.

I have had no problems at all with cotton pilling either. The number one cause of cotton pilling, for me, is from putting soft shirts into the wash with shorts or shirts that had the hook side of velcro. After I found that out and stopped mixing them together, I have yet to have a pilling problem with any of my clothes.

Looking at the size chart, chest: Small: 41" Medium: 44" Typically, a medium is 38-40 or 40-42, and a large is 44. If I wear a size 40 suit, I presume I should opt for a small? The footnote "...measurements are the actual size of the garment, not body measurements..." is confusing because I do not know if sizing guides from other products are based on body measurements. Please advise. Thanks.
    3 Answers
sizing on other products are usually of the body measurement and not the garment measurement. the biggest a small will fit is a 41 inches chest and that could be getting tight on you if you have a size 40 chest. we would recommend possibly going with a medium for a looser fit that would be much more comfortable to wear.

So a small will fit fine on someone normally with a 36 to 38 size chest?

Is the material of these polos more like the 5.11 performance polos or that of a coton/jersey knit?
    2 Answers
Our Operator Polo is more like the 5.11 Performance Polo material than a cotton/jersey knit polo. It is a little bit softer than the 5.11 Polo as well.
    on July 6, 2013
These tact-polo's are a little thinner and softer than the 5.11 polo. I prefer this one for the hot climate of FL and it is 1/3 the cost.
