    Tactical Taylor suspenders
These work well and are well made. The come with the belt keepers unlike other brands. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the suspenders need a strap across the chest to keep the other straps from peeking out around your outer vest carrier.
    ProsWell made. Come with keepers
    ConsNo strap across chest

    Great product!
I am very happy with these suspenders. More & more officers in our department are using them so I decided to try them as well. I'm 6'5" and 260 lbs. I have high hips, and wearing my belt above my hips, where it should be, would be very uncomfortable. I would have to pull my belt up 20 times during a shift and retuck my shirt up to 4 or 5 times a night. These suspenders stopped all those problems. My belt is in a comfortable position, my pants stay up, and my shirt stays tucked! Wish I had these suspenders years ago!

    Great support!
After brief period of adjusting the straps, it distributed the weight perfectly and keeps a majority of the weight off my lower back. 23 years infantry and SF before LEO and my lower back was having issues. This keeps the weight off my lower back and hips. It fits nicely under the Blauer over vest.
    ProsComfortable Easily adjustabke

Anyone know if you can add or change the velcro button straps to leather webbingstraps?
    2 Answers
There's no velcro straps, so if you're talking about the keepers then yes. The nylon keepers had a loop that kept them always attached to the hooks, but I cut them off and now use leather keepers.

    from Yellowstone National Park, WY
The D ring that the plastic snap hooks into is sewn into the fabric of the keepers that come attached to the suspenders. If you wanted to replace them with leather, you'd either have to cut the plastic D ring out of the fabric keepers that come with it, or you'd have to purchase 4 D rings and 4 keepers that you could run through them and then hook the suspenders to those.

I work for the Border Patrol on a special mountain unit. We hike A LOT and carry a Camelbak back pack with extra gear. Will these suspenders feel as if there is too much bulkiness around the chest and back while hiking? I tried out a pair of Blackhawk suspenders, they made me feel constricted and put pressure around my shoulders and chest. Every time I took a step up on a trail it felt as though I was doing a squat or something was holding me down from stepping up. Are the strap elasticized by chance? That would be helpful for bending under fences and brush.
    2 Answers
I use these on patrol. There is very little bulk to these suspenders. The straps are not elasticized. All the weight is on the shoulders. Now it's not bad for just my duty belt but if you're attaching a lot of gear to your suspension system/belt, you will definitely feel it on the shoulders. When you squat/bend over, they will pull on your belt or put pressure on your shoulders depending on how loose/tight you wear your belt. I loosened up my inner belt and duty belt and it's been wonderful on my hips and lower back. Hope this helps brother.
    on June 20, 2016
    from Broomfield, CO
No elastic as far as I can tell. I'm a typical urban environment, car based patrolman, so my need for these is pretty different than yours, but they alleviate a lot of lower back pain caused by my belt. They wear comfortably, disappear under my external vest, and take a lot of weight off my hips. Hope that helped.

The short answer is yes. The group I belong to wears them under the ballistic vest which has a "Blauer" cover (looks like a shirt). This is a great help for the people that have nagging back issues.

I don't think you can conceal then without modifying your uniform shirt in some way. I just went to the doctor and had him write me excuse explaining due to hip and back problems this is a needed piece of safety equipment. Wearing a duty belt for hours at a time has been well documented to cause back and hip damage. That’s why the military provides harnesses for belts. You cannot be discriminated against for medical issues by needing this safety equipment. Here is a YouTube link to help explain what you probably may know that a Doctor did on how a back and hips gets damage from a duty belt. You will be glad you did what’s needed to use this load bearing harness (Safety Equipment). Remember to get the doctor to write the letter using the prober terminology!!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_Ad5osD_9Q

I'm thinking not. I'm 6'0", and the way I wear them, they could only be shortened up another 7-8". It's going to depend on your specific build, though, how long your torso is, the distance from your shoulder to your belt, if you are wearing body armor, etc.
    on March 1, 2016
    from Marinette, WI
Yes Ma'am, I believe you will be able to shorten them up enough between the front and back, then cut of the excess nylon web, to be comfortable. If you are carrying a side arm, you may want it a little lower than showed in the picture here. If you need it high like in this picture it will be close and you may want to find one to try. I'm sure LA police gear would take the return due to the size issues as their service is great. WA

    2 Answers
You can use them with your regular belt keepers or just by themselves, they are basically like normal keepers but with a D-Ring on them. As for being able to attach them to something else other than a duty belt. There should be no reason why you couldn't attach them to another type of belt or even to molle if you have a battle belt.

    on August 27, 2014

No, They are made to be worn over the uniform, They attach to your duty belt and the keepers are pretty robust but your biggest problem would be the yoke across the back of your shoulders, it's pretty thick and I can't imagine it under your uniform. I do love these worn over my uniform, I tried t other brands and these are the clear winners. They offer great support and super comfort, back pain is a thing of the past. I'm even less tired after working a double. If you really need something under you uniform there are companies that make them, I know Blauer make them, and I've them in the Police and Security Product News If your going to wear them over the uniform the Tactical Tailor Suspenders are the way to go.

In a word, no. They are designed to support and redistribute some of the weight of a fully kitted out duty belt from the waist/hips to the shoulders. As such, the belt keepers have attached D rings that accept the suspender clips. I don't see how they could be used in conjunction with any current duty syste if not worn as designed.

No. The suspenders hook on to your duty belt and under belt. They can't do this properly if they are under your uniform shirt because you need to tuck your shirt in. Your belts are on the outside of your shirt; the suspenders need to be on the outside too. They are made to be worn under an outer vest carrier.

Good Afternoon..... I have read your Q & A in regards to the adjustment of the suspenders, but here is my question: I am 6' 4" and go about 300#'. Other companies have claimed theirs will also adjust, but they are not even close.
    2 Answers
Well, I am 6'4" and 265 I still have plenty of room for adjustment. In fact I am confident most of the smaller guys would have to trim the straps to keep them out of the way after they adjusted them down. I think this manufacture realized it didn't cost them much more to make them big enough for anybody and just have the little guys trim them.

Once attached will the suspenders slide around on the belt or do they maintain position when you take the gear off and back on?
    7 Answers
They are attached to the duty belt with belt keepers, so they will move as much as any other keepers would. However, they are easy to slide back into place. I have tried other suspenders and these are by far the most comfortable so far.
    on February 25, 2014
    from Lakewood, CA
They shift a little while taking them off/on but it's an easy fix. They don't move around any more than the rest of the gear on the belt and once everything is moved to where you want it nothing shifts.
    on February 25, 2014
    from Quincy, IL
They'll stay still for the most part. Though they take the place of keepers on my rig so I have to remove them to drop my belt anyway. I'd recommend these to anyone who has to wear a full rig. They take a lot of weight off your lower back and look sharp.
    on February 25, 2014

Two answers, and both are yes. If only on a duty belt, and with no tension on them, they would slide and need to be put back in place when the duty belt is put on. The attachments are belt keeper style and that is how I wear them, so the suspenders some off each time for me.

It can go either way. If you have the traditional style uniform with the vest under your uniform shirt you will have to make alterations by having a slit cut where the straps can pass through to the belt. If you have an outer carrier it works great under the vest.
