    Good for the Price
These socks seem to be built well and are of good quality. I ordered these because I didn't want to pay the price for 5.11 socks. They are not as long as advertised, and do not go over my calves. I've worn them on duty several times and they are pretty comfortable. I'm in and out of a patrol car so I don't know how they would be for someone on their feet more.

    Good socks
I like these socks. I loved the old version, but then they went out of stock and these replaced them. I do not like the giant new logo on these socks, it's much more difficult to keep a low profile. These aren't as long as the old ones. Both versions stay up all day
ProsStay up all day, thin but well made, long lasting
ConsNot as long as the previous model, new logo is HUGE can't really hide it in mixed crowds if that's an issue for you

    Great deal
I just purchased 2 pair of the LAPG socks to try them out. They are really comfortable, they offer great support over the calf and there is sufficient cushioning under the foot. They are comparable to the 511 socks and cost a little less.

Fantastic if you have chicken legs
These are not over the calf unless you are a midget and they are so tight they will cut off the circulation to your feet

My calves are massive...15-16 inches. Will these still go over my calves?
    4 Answers
we do feel that these socks might be just a bit to snug in the calf are and they would not fit comfortably so we might recommend standard crew socks.

These are very good socks for the money, but you may find that they are too tight for you. My calves are not quite that big and they fit me like compression socks.

Im wearing short boots, but looking for tall socks to keep my legs warm in the winter, are these designed only for the warm climate to keep cool, or will they keep my calves warm in the cold?
    2 Answers
these are not particularly thick so they are more of a warm weather style sock.

I wear a standard size boot, the socks are a bit thin and I would not image any problems in warmer temperatures. That being said I've worn them on cold nights and unless I was going to be out of the car for extended periods of time my legs have never got cold.

How do these compare with the 5.11 socks
    8 Answers
5.11 socks are leaps and bounds better. These socks kinda remind me of cheap thin dress socks. If you're looking for decent socks at a good price, the Dickies socks from wally world are awesome! They are black, thick ,and comfortable!

I cant really tell any difference in the quality or comfort. Only difference may be the name and price you pay.

Very similar in construction and wear. Stay up and have a bit of compression. Wear basically like the 5.11, but cheaper.

The LAPG socks are much better than the 5.11 socks. They expand and hug your calves, they don't fall down, even under strenuous use. Go with the LA Police Gear socks!

The 5.11 socks pull all the way over my calf. Thay dont fall as easy either. I like both but prefer the 5.11's over the LAPG socks but both serve me well.

Extremely comfortable fit and inside the boot as well. At recent, nine hour outside security deployment -feet never tired. LAPG OTC sox hold their shape very well, no balling after wash-the way 5.11's do. Leg knitting stays snug. No excessive perspiring so far. LAPG OTC socks are great to me. They put 5.11 in second place.

I wish I could tell you. I was sent the short no show sock by mistake. It wasn't worth the effort to return them. I could use them anyway, but do like the short ones.

To answer your question thouroughly, I must say that I never owned a pair of 5.11 socks. What I can say about the LAPG sock is that it is very comfortable, the fabric is soft and flexes very well when you move and it stays over the calf. It doesn't "ride" down while you wear it. A good investment in my humble opinion. Hope this answers your question !
