Bought this because it included a tourniquet which was nothing more than a 1" rubber band. Now have to buy a tourniquet for inclusion into the kit.

    Must have!!!
This is the third IFAK that I've purchased from LAPG. Regular sale price is affordable, but when additional mark downs are applied it makes this item a must have for any LEO that works in areas where EMS is not close, hunter or recreational shooter. I carry one with me during field operations, another while hunting/shooting and this last one is going on my BOB.
ProsPrice and contents capable of stopping excessive blood loss when pre-hospital care has extended ETAs.

    First Id Kit
There is not tourniquet in the pack as advertised. I would like to order 50 more packs, but I need the tourniquet included.
    Consno tourniquet as advertised.

Should have a couple more things compared to some of the ones at other retailers
Not bad for the price but could also have a couple of other things.

    Could be improved
The molle snaps are junk and were always unsnapping. After having this kit for over a year, I finally lost it. It was woven into the molle web on the outside of my backpack. It fell off somewhere yesterday. A first aid kit will do you no good in time of need if it falls off all the time. This kit is pretty entry level/basic.
ConsSnaps on molle straps. Entry level kit. No chest darts. Tourniquet is the elastic band. No naso pharyngeal airway There are better kits.

The contents were as promised and seem to be okay I was slightly disappointed with the bag. I really hope we are not issuing this to our military personnel because the inside straps were very loose and do not secure the contents and also due to the bag size it tends to take up a lot of unnecessary Room on your plate carrier. I think if the bag was reduced to two thirds of that size I think it would be great but there is so much room in it that you can pack enough stuff to do surgery which is fine if you're making a squad level kit but as a individual kit It really is too big and takes up extra room that you could have flex cuffs or other gear mounted to your plate carrier rig
ProsMedical supplies were as promised in the description
ConsThe bag takes up a lot of unnecessary room and is okay quality but certainly not the best But interior straps are very loose and things just fall out

    Very dsappointing tourniquet
I had expected a CAT tourniquet or at least something reasonably close. The tourniquet included wit this IFAK is a band of elastic. I kid you not. The rest of the contents are adequate but that tourniquet is junk.
    ProsCost, variety of contents
ConsTourniquet is a piece of cheap junk.

Too large for a tactical vest
The content is not the issue, the size of the pack is, as it pertains to being carried as a personal kit.

    Great Kit
Researched and read reviews before I bought it. The bad reviews did not hinder my decision on this particular first aid kit. It has all the basics AND you can always add or remove medical contents as needed. Great for cars, motorcycles and yes even out in the field! I WILL buy more of this great product.
ProsHas enough room to add to the kit or replace items that came with it. Speedy delivery.
    ConsBad reviews of the product!!

    OK, but....
Ordered three of these kits to use for our campus officers.
ProsNice size kit for patrol vehicles. Provides the basics for an officer needing self aid or buddy care. Stocked with basic supplies. OK for a basic starter kit.
ConsTourniquet is more a restrictive band, not true combat tourniquet. The inside would be better off without the elastic bands that are too small to hold a bandage and make it awkward packing other items in the kit. You will need to beef up your basic care supplies for trauma or gunshot care.

    Nice basic kit
Bought this to go in my Xterra since I do not like the Nissan bandaid supply they offer. This is a good kit that comes as offered with an Israeli bandage and quickclot. Added an emergency blanket, offered at LAPG as well, and another Quickclot both fit in the bag. All items are nicely stowed and waterproof packed.

What type of tourniquet is included? Is it similar to the CAT or SOF tourniquets or is it just a latex strap?
    1 Answers
The tourniquet included in this IFAK is a standard latex strap tourniquet.
