    Slip on but warm
When ordered I didn’t realize how these lace up. Think of loosening your shoe laces so you can slip them on and off. They are able to loosen up to get on and tighten up nice but you will spend a bit more time doing so. There is a lock at the top to keep the laces from fully unlacing unless you want them too. They are warm. Spent the first three nights using them on an operation where I was in and out of the truck in 35 degree temps and never noticed the cold on my feet. So far so good.
ProsNice sale price and very good value due to. Fairly wide so nice for us with boat oars for feet.
    ConsLacing system a bit cumbersome.

    excellent boot
this was an awesome deal for a great boot...very comfortable. glad i was able to catch this deal with my size. i will say that when ordering these you probably need to add a half size. i haven't had them for very long so i can't say anything about how well they are holding up but as far as i can tell they seem to be well built.

    Comfortable boot
One of the most comfortable boots I’ve worn right next to my Salomon’s. Took maybe two shifts to break them in. I don’t like their lacing system but you can bypass that and lace them like a normal boot.

i work law enforcement and needed new boots. I ordered these and they are very comfortable. I ordered my exact size and the fit was perfect. Use these boots during a 16 hour shift and did not have sore feet at the end. Only time will tell on the durability. I would recommend these boots for the price.

    Good boots/Great value
I have purchased 2 pair of boots a year for 10 years. I have worn better boots with better materials, but at 6x the price. The Blackhawk ultra lights with side zip fit correctly and are comfortable for 10hrs. The price that LAPG sold these at is incredible. I will be back for more.

My wife wears an 8 what size would that be in this boot?
    2 Answers
The general answer is two sizes smaller than the mans. If she normally wears a woman's 8 then she would wear a men's 6. My wife wears a woman's 7 and the men's size 5 fits just right.

I wear an 8 1/2 in womens with orthopedic inserts what size would you recommend?
    2 Answers
I ordered a 1/2 bigger than what I normally wear. Try that, maybe go a bit wider. Some boots you can go 8 hours in, other you have to adjust for longer hours.

I have worn this boot at work in one of the our State Prison, I wore them every day to work and when I went camping. I would replace them every year and a half so over the years I must have bought 4 or 5 pairs. I panicked over a year ago when I found out that Black Hawk discontinued marketing them, So when I saw them on sale I jumped on purchasing a new pair. They have an inner sole, if they don't fit with your inserts you can take this inner sole out to make more room but I don't think this will be a problem. In the winter I wore heavy socks and in the hotter months I wore lighter socks without any problems Good Luck

These are "jungle" boots, lighter, less good for the up-and-down, more good for the level wet field. Back in my USMC days the best boots I ever used for the mountain humps were Danners (hands-down). Hope I added to your confusion, stay safe, be good.

If you are wearing "true" boot socks with the Bates boot I would go a 9WIDE. The Blackhawk is just a tad bit narrower. They have a nice fit for me. Hope this helps you in choosing the correct size for yourself.

I work in correctional facility as a correctional Officer, I have to walk through a metal detector everyday and these boots clear it. No steel. The little metal that it does have if any isn't enough to set the detector off.

YES ! They do have metal in them. Every eyelet, and the two vents at the arch are metal. Also the pin/rod that holds the speed lace toggle system is made from metal.

These boots are good for both but if I "had" to say one or the other I would say that they're best for summer due to the light weight, but they're great duty boots regardless of season. I'm a Correctional Officer though and most of my duties are in a facility.

I picked them up for summer competition shooting. These do not appear to be design for cold weather due to the mesh and vent holes at the bottom. I could be wrong but for $50 I'll try them out.

    on February 7, 2017
    from Saint Augustine, FL
I agree. But yes, they're men's. I bought a size 14 regular. And it fits nice. Granted I have a very slender foot and it is slightly bulging at the instep. I'm gonna add a gel Insert and snug it up a little. But, it is really comfortable. Especially the toe box. I often have trouble there. Skinny feet, long toes. I should've tried barefoot water skiing. But honestly how can you beet the price. It was cheap enough to buy it as an experiment. I would've bought the lapg brand at $34 but, yet don't come in 14.
