I have had many Black Hawk products and love the quality but these boots look cheap and I hate the lace system and they make my feet look bigger than they are. On a good note they are comfortable

I purchased a pair of these several months ago when they first went on sale for $50. They gave me blisters after the first day and I don't know the last time I wore a pair of boots this uncomfortable. I thought the over time they would get better but they have not. I can only stand to wear them for one shift every three or four days.

    Great Product.
Awesome boots. Light and comfortable. Great shoestring feature where you don't have to tie the boots. Due to weird timing, I immediately had to put them to use when I got them, but they were great and up to the task.

    Light and Comfortable
These are amazingly comfortable. The first time I put them on I walked my dogs 1 mile. They felt like my tennis shoes.....after the mile. Can't believe I paid so little for them.
Proslight weight. Very comfortable insole padding. Very comfortable interior feel.
ConsThe speed lace tab is weak but it does the job.

    Good no nonsense boots
Great boots for the money. The boots are comfortable out of the box. The only thing I would add is a side zipper. They are a little hard to pull off unless you unlace them pretty far.
    ProsComfort Lacing system with pocket
ConsNeed to unlace pretty far to remove.

    Looks really great
These are really nice looking boots from Blackhawk. They appear fairly scuff resistant which is a bonus and have a decent lacing system. The sole is sturdy and the tread is great. The boots also breathe fairly well which is a must for summertime wear. The two negatives are comfort and water resistance. If you're getting these, you must have different supports. Buy some Super Feet and save your feet and back. For the price, I don't know if anything that is a close competition. You can spend $200 on Rocky Eliminators and have some of the best boots, or spend less than $50 and have a good pair of boots that won't make you upset if they get scuffed. Personally, I like these courses and believe this was a good purchase.

Good all around boot for price
This boot is fairly comfortable right out of the box. Decent outer sole but the footbed seemed a little lumpy at first but broke in quickly. Size runs a little large. Good laces with durable eyelets but slow and the quick lace system on the top of the tongue is poorly designed and not very durable. Not water proof or water resistant at all although this is not an advertised feature. All around they are okay for the great price LAPG sold them for.
    ProsLightweight Durable Comfortable Affordable
ConsNot water resistant Slow/poorly designed lace system

    Awesome boot!
Wasn't sure what to expect based on the price but totally shocked on how comfortable they are. These are these are one of the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever had. Only had them a little while so not sure on durability yet.

I wear an 8 1/2 in womens with orthopedic inserts what size would you recommend?

I ordered a 1/2 bigger than what I normally wear. Try that, maybe go a bit wider. Some boots you can go 8 hours in, other you have to adjust for longer hours.

I have worn this boot at work in one of the our State Prison, I wore them every day to work and when I went camping. I would replace them every year and a half so over the years I must have bought 4 or 5 pairs. I panicked over a year ago when I found out that Black Hawk discontinued marketing them, So when I saw them on sale I jumped on purchasing a new pair. They have an inner sole, if they don't fit with your inserts you can take this inner sole out to make more room but I don't think this will be a problem. In the winter I wore heavy socks and in the hotter months I wore lighter socks without any problems Good Luck

These are "jungle" boots, lighter, less good for the up-and-down, more good for the level wet field. Back in my USMC days the best boots I ever used for the mountain humps were Danners (hands-down). Hope I added to your confusion, stay safe, be good.

If you are wearing "true" boot socks with the Bates boot I would go a 9WIDE. The Blackhawk is just a tad bit narrower. They have a nice fit for me. Hope this helps you in choosing the correct size for yourself.

I work in correctional facility as a correctional Officer, I have to walk through a metal detector everyday and these boots clear it. No steel. The little metal that it does have if any isn't enough to set the detector off.

YES ! They do have metal in them. Every eyelet, and the two vents at the arch are metal. Also the pin/rod that holds the speed lace toggle system is made from metal.

These boots are good for both but if I "had" to say one or the other I would say that they're best for summer due to the light weight, but they're great duty boots regardless of season. I'm a Correctional Officer though and most of my duties are in a facility.

I picked them up for summer competition shooting. These do not appear to be design for cold weather due to the mesh and vent holes at the bottom. I could be wrong but for $50 I'll try them out.

Yes. The sizes are for men. I bought a 10 m and fit just right. Ive only wore them for a day. But they feel hreat. My son liked the way they looked , ordered him a pair the next day. Great price for a great boot.

The sizes seem to be way off. I ordered a 9.5 wide and what I received was MUCH closer to a 9 narrow. Fortunately for me, my they fit my youngest son pretty well so I kept them but the sizing is way off.

    on February 7, 2017

I agree. But yes, they're men's. I bought a size 14 regular. And it fits nice. Granted I have a very slender foot and it is slightly bulging at the instep. I'm gonna add a gel Insert and snug it up a little. But, it is really comfortable. Especially the toe box. I often have trouble there. Skinny feet, long toes. I should've tried barefoot water skiing. But honestly how can you beet the price. It was cheap enough to buy it as an experiment. I would've bought the lapg brand at $34 but, yet don't come in 14.
