Ordered this boot because it was on sale and the reviews were mostly good. Took me a few days of wearing around the house to break in but now they fit very well. Very light weight. Great boot for the price.

    GREAT boot for the money!
These are everything they are advertised to be. They fit well and the sizing is true (10.5 R) for me. If you are looking for extended wear / rugged conditions, don't expect Danner or Rocky, or Solomon quality in a $29.95 closeout boot. However, if you intend to utilize these boots for normal tasks and light to medium duty, you can't beat the price. I wish I had purchased additional pairs of them to shelve at this price!
    ProsPrice, true sizing, fits well!

    Solid boots
I was initially a bit apprehensive about these because of the drastically reduced price. But that turned out to be unfounded. Great boot at an unbelievable closeout price. I've worn them 3 times so far and they're great. I don't use the lace lock system, I just tie the normally. I would have preferred a side zip but for $29.99 it doesnt matter thst I take a few more minutes to put them on. Great bargain for a good pair of boots!

    Right out of the box
Just got this in the mail yesterday. Unboxed it today, and tried it on. It is a little cumbersome to put it on, but I am attributing it to the rigid upper and being just out of the box. I will give it some time to get broken in. Once I was able to put the boots on, it is super lightweight, the heel support was amazing, and the cushion is decent (so far. I am walking on the carpet inside my house, so I will have to see how it works on the field). The fit is true to size, and I still have to shine the shoes. Overall, I am giving this pair of boots a 4-star only because of how cumbersome it was to don/doff.
ProsSupport Cushioning True to size Snug fit Good heel support
    ConsAbility to don/doff quickly

    Super Comfortable
The initial cushioning for these feels great. It's a tall boot, so it's supportive around the ankles and up the shin. It's also a bit thick in construction so keep that in mind.
    ProsComfortable. Supportive.
    ConsPrime suspect for stinky feet.

I wear an 8 1/2 in womens with orthopedic inserts what size would you recommend?

I ordered a 1/2 bigger than what I normally wear. Try that, maybe go a bit wider. Some boots you can go 8 hours in, other you have to adjust for longer hours.

I have worn this boot at work in one of the our State Prison, I wore them every day to work and when I went camping. I would replace them every year and a half so over the years I must have bought 4 or 5 pairs. I panicked over a year ago when I found out that Black Hawk discontinued marketing them, So when I saw them on sale I jumped on purchasing a new pair. They have an inner sole, if they don't fit with your inserts you can take this inner sole out to make more room but I don't think this will be a problem. In the winter I wore heavy socks and in the hotter months I wore lighter socks without any problems Good Luck

These are "jungle" boots, lighter, less good for the up-and-down, more good for the level wet field. Back in my USMC days the best boots I ever used for the mountain humps were Danners (hands-down). Hope I added to your confusion, stay safe, be good.

These boots are good for both but if I "had" to say one or the other I would say that they're best for summer due to the light weight, but they're great duty boots regardless of season. I'm a Correctional Officer though and most of my duties are in a facility.

I picked them up for summer competition shooting. These do not appear to be design for cold weather due to the mesh and vent holes at the bottom. I could be wrong but for $50 I'll try them out.

I agree. But yes, they're men's. I bought a size 14 regular. And it fits nice. Granted I have a very slender foot and it is slightly bulging at the instep. I'm gonna add a gel Insert and snug it up a little. But, it is really comfortable. Especially the toe box. I often have trouble there. Skinny feet, long toes. I should've tried barefoot water skiing. But honestly how can you beet the price. It was cheap enough to buy it as an experiment. I would've bought the lapg brand at $34 but, yet don't come in 14.
