Nice Jacket, BUT definitely not part of a system, I have the Element Shell SKU #: BPG-WW-82ES00 which is ??? the shell of this 3 part system. Shell Layer #3 and Ops Jacket layer #2 are both XL, the Zipper on Ops Jacket is longer than the connecting Zipper in the Shell, and It is not a flip zipper, real hard to mate together. Also the Layer #2 ops jacket has no way to hook to the neck clip or sleeve clips provided in the Shell Layer #3. Both Jacket are nice, but do not mate to become a complete Coat system.
    ProsNice Jackets individual
ConsDo not mate to become the advertised "Warrior Wear Jacket System"

    Great Jacket System
The Ops jacket zips into the shell as a liner, however there are no attachment points on the arms or neck.

    Snug fit and nice feel
I purchased this and the shell jac. The ops jacket zips into the shell jac for a nice waterproof double layer. As a stand alone jacket, the ops jacket is snug but comfortable. It has more leeway when zipped in as a liner. The neck lining on both jacket is very pleasing. I am glad I made the purchase.
ProsNeck lining is very comfortable Cozy fit

Overall the jacket was is well made. If this jacket had a hood I would have given it a 5 star rating.
ProsThe jacket is water proof and looks like its well made. There are lots of pockets both inside and outside. Overall I am happy with the jacket.
    ConsDoes not have a hood.

    Great Bargain
Love this jacket. It seems well made, looks good, and fits perfectly(XL, 6'2", 210). It's a little more insulated that my similar North Face jacket and compares very favorably to it. The price makes buying this jacket a no-brainer.

    Blackhawk Warrior Wear Jacket
I'm a big fan of this jacket for a few reasons. The internal pull cord is safer for CC because there is one less thing to potentially find its way into a trigger guard. Also the glove pocket in the rear is also a nice feature
ProsCleans very easily. Most things come right off by spot cleaning.

Spectacular buy at the sale price
6'-0" about 200#, arms and torso about "normal" and the large fit's perfect. I can't say enough good things about this jacket, and especially at this price. Great, sturdy material without being stiff - actually, very comfy. I bought this to be my range jacket, but now I want to keep it clean so I can wear it everywhere. Zippers are nice, HD and run smooth. This isn't a "cold weather" jacket per se. I'm in AZ and this is my winter coat for the valley. If I go north to the rim or Flagstaff, it won't be enough, but I didn't purchase with that expectation. If I had paid $229 for it (which I wouldn't) I still wouldn't have anything bad to say about it, but at $55, it's a no-brainer.
    ProsAbsolutely everything (no kidding)

    Outstanding jacket
I love this jacket. Great quality and the fit is perfect. The reviews worried me as large/tall guys were saying the jacket was big on them, but I took a chance and ordered my normal large and its perfect. I'm 5' 11" and 172 lbs.

Great Deal - For a Great Styled Jacket
This is a really great jacket. Plenty of pockets. Great weight for fall and spring wear and as a liner in the winter.
ProsGreat style and quality made. Excellent value for the price.
ConsForm fitting. I will not be able to wear this over a hoodie. Because it was a close-out the next size up was no longer available. However, I received excellent service from Amanda in customer service and purchased a second Blackhawk close-out that was also an excellent deal. Amanda was extremely helpful. Thanks.

What temperature would you say this jacket is rated for? I live in MI, usually gets in the single digits or low double digits in the winter, would this jacket keep me warm?
    8 Answers
I wouldn't think it would be what you're looking for. It would probably work for the high 20's to the 40's. It would be good as an outer jacket in your climate if you layer heavily. Of course, then you need to buy a size larger. Here in SE Texas, it's perfect.

I would say this jacket would be comfortable down to about +20F degrees as long as you kept moving.

Hi - The jacket is a shell with a thin warming liner- If I was going to single digits I'd stack on a few layers and buy the jacket large.

Warm, yes. Warm enough for MI in the winter, no. This jacket is perfect for spring or fall in the Midwest, but most certainly not a winter jacket. Still, gotta say, this is my favorite jacket. What it does, it does well, and looks good doing it.

This jacket is considered an inner layer and I probably would not wear it as my only layer much below 10-20 degrees.

I live in California, I just received this jacket. It looks good for autumn and winter on the West Coast, but not anywhere snow falls. It looks like it would work well under a heavier jacket.

This is a light jacket, it is best used for mild conditions. I would recommend this jacket for the Spring or Fall when the temp is mild. This is not a heavy winter jacket. If you live in MI, and the temp gets into the single digits I would not go out in this jacket. I hope this helps?

I would say this jacket would be good to the upper 30's/low 40's on its own. It is a pretty form fitting jacket. I bought the shell as well and with those combined, I would say you would be comfortable in the upper single digits. It is definitely just a soft shell jacket. If you are planning on concealing anything under the jacket, I would order a size up. The shell on the other hand, order a size down from what you typically wear.

How "water repellent" is this jacket? I have owned a Northface soft shell that will stop anything other than driving rain that might push through zippers and openings (although the outer stretch layer is damp), and others that will let water soak through after a few minutes of steady rain. I would want something that would basically keep me dry as long as I threw on a hat or something and it was't a torrential downpour, good for running around town or camping to replace my Northface. I already own an ultra light stowable hard shell that is 100@ waterproof but it's too "technical" for casual wear.

It is really dependent on the environment you expose yourself to. It is good for light to medium rain, if exposure is prolonged (1 hr or more) the jacket will get damp on the inside.

There is no hood and no pit zips. The main reason I purchased it again was the price. I bought one in 2012 and paid $300, the jacket is tough and makes a good mid layer in winter. For the price I couldn't pass it up.

This jacket does not come with a hood or pit zips. It does have a soft inner shell with a zippered inner pocket for self carry or other articles. The inner shell is not removable. Sizing is small. I would order one size larger than your normal size. Elbows are reinforced with a rubberized material.

The fleece does not have a hood as it is meant to be the liner for the phase three jacket. I am returning mine as it is a little tight and reordering an XL. One of the nicest light coats I've ever seen!

It does? I just got it, and, aside from zipping the liner into the shell, which you could do with any liner, you simply wear it underneath. The shell has buttoned loops to tie in to a liner, but no such feature is available on this jacket

    Are the sleeves lined?
    10 Answers
yes they are, if I might add this to the review, the picture of the product does not reflect the actual look, The jacket is better looking that what is shown, the quality of it is really good, lots of pockets inside and out. it looks like it can be worn in extrem cold weather

They are lined in the sense that the inside of the fabric has a different finish than the outside; the outside is a standard water repellant softshell jacket material, and the inside is more of a polyester fleece material. It is not lined in the form of a separate removable liner. Just one layer of fabric, with different textures on the two sides. Think of this jacket as being made of standard softshell jacket material.

The sleeves are the same material as the body which I would describe as a bonded fleece - slick outer layer with fleecy inside. This jacket arrived yesterday and I'm totally impressed with it- GREAT PURCHASE and I'm glad I ordered my regular size. Large fits like North Face sizing

No. But they have a fleece like texture to them. Warm and soft. This is the second tier of a three tier system. Excellent water wicking ability and warm. I'm a United States Border Patrol Agent with over twenty years and I use this every day. Excellent product, excellent price.

Entire jacket is fleece-lined, and much warmer than i imagined. Alson, two zipper pockets on inside left, big enough for say, a small hold-out and some mags. Hope that helps!

The whole inside of the jacket is aligned the core area looks kind of like a wind resistant lights microfleece and they arms seem to be a light microfleece I have just received it yesterday so I haven't given it a thorough look over. The color for the green seems to be more of a grayish it looks good seems to be a nice jacket and can't beat the price hope that helps

I wear a large on most outer layer jackets and Med for mid layer, I had purchased another BLK Hawk jacket soft shell and picked Large long by mistake and I swim in it.I also have a fleece from BLK and its a Med and it fits perfect.would you say that a reg Large fits good with a fleece base layer? And whats the exchange policy? Thank you.

If you usually wear a large outer layer than a Large-Regular Blackhawk soft shell jacket should fit fine. As for the Returns/Exchanges, you can view our policy by visiting our site and clicking on the Customer Service button under the main LA Police Gear logo and finding the Return Policies tab.
