Don't see a holster for your firearm listed? Please use our Holster Finder for a list of great options that are compatible with your gun!

Made specifically to meet the demands of tactical operations, the Level 2 Tactical Holster gives you the benefits of a drop-leg configuration for ideal holster location.

  • SERPA Auto Lock release
  • Passive retention detent adjustment screw
  • Full-length holster body protects rear sights
  • Flexible thigh platform conforms to leg size
  • Y-harness suspension system distributes weight evenly, keeps holster vertical and allows use of pocket
  • Quick-disconnect swivel buckles for quick holster mounting/dismounting
  • Accessory mounting points for pouches, knives, mag cases, etc.
  • Hole in holster body for optional bungee retention
  • Rubberized leg straps eliminate sliding
  • Fits all BLACKHAWK! injection-molded platforms

Blackhawk has changed the Serpa Holster slightly to better fit the needs of our soldiers. They will no longer be coming with a picatinny rail for the mag carriers to slide onto due to them easily getting caught on things and falling off. The magazine carriers will now be screwed onto the platform. At this time Blackhawk is recommending customers purchase the Tactical Mag Pouch. These pouches attach via screws and have a snap cover to prevent you from losing your tools or extra mags.

    Just what I wanted !
I've been wanting a drop-down thigh rig for my 1911 for some time now, and it has lived up to my expectations ! There is no flopping around when walking or running and my sidearm is secure AND mostly protected. I would and have recommended this holster AND this site to my friends.

ConsPopularity ie; these holsters sell fast and it took me a while to find a site that had the one I wanted in stock

This is a badass holster! Very secure, stable, and heavy duty! Does not move when tightened properly. Straps are very rugged and bites the clothes securely and does not move! Locking mechanism is secure and easy to manipulate. My only concern is that the adjustments on the leg straps and belt straps could be faster and easier! Other than that is a badass holster. Used it for training and survived one hell of course :-)
ProsRugged Stable Secure Easy to manipulate locking mechanism

    Blackhawk Serpa Holster...THE BEST!
Like a broken drum you just can't beat a Blackhawk Serpa Holster for open carry!! And their drop-leg rigs are the abs0lute best!!! And a VERY SPECIAL hat tip to LAPG...YOU GUYS and GALS are THE BEST!! I needed a Serpa for my brother who was coming hunting with me and all he had was his duty gear. So I ordered the Blackhawk Serpa and Belt. I left a note asking the good folks at LAPG if they would expedite the order due to time constraints and that holster and belt were here in a couple of days!! THANK YOU LAPG!! YOU ALL TRULEY ARE THE BEST!!
ProsFits your side arm like a glove. NO ONE can get at it while you're wearing it. All of Blackhawk's equipment colors match perfectly! All of the Serpa holsters will interchange with all the Blackhawk Serpa holster equipment.
ConsThey are a little pricey...don't mind paying for quality, but I think they're a little spendy.

    Top Notch
Bought this holster for my Glock 22. Good quality piece of equipment. Wore it a few times before I found the best adjustment. Just wish they made one in Coyote Tan for Glocks. Seems they only make it in tan for military sidearms, Beretta, Sig, and Colt clones. A little paint from a rattle can fixed that right up.
ProsWell made and comfortable. Nice when you are wearing it all day and sleeping with it at night.

Best tactical leg rig you can buy.
I bought one of these for an M9 for my last deployment and it worked great, even though I consider the M9 essentially junk. Though I never had to fire it the Iraqi's I drew on were shocked at the speed of my draw. It takes some practice but I can draw and point shoot with this rig accurately to about 15 feet in about 1/4 second, always hitting center mass on an E-type silhouette. I bought this one for my 1911 for personal use. It was a deal at about 2/3 of what I paid for my M9 rig 5 years ago.
    ProsExcellent overall.
ConsKind of a pain to put on and take off. I solved this problem with a separate pistol belt specifically for this holster. Made it much easier to use on a daily basis.

Blackhawk did not back their product
Called BlackHawk customer service on 12/2 with an part issue on my SERPA platform. Never received replacement part.. Called back again today and spoke with Deborah. She stated she saw my order, but the person forgot to ship it out. Deborah then stated she was altering what the previous person at BlackHawk said they were going to ship out because "they don't warranty certain items", but I could come here (LAPG) and order the part. While I was on the phone with Deborah I checked here and the other reseller she said I could order the replacement part. Not available here or there. Deborah said well if they don't offer it, you can try another place. -1 for BlackHawk warranty service. They promised something and did not follow through...

Will this holster fit a Sig Sauer Scorpion? I love the holster but am afraid it won't fit my 1911 W/ Rail.
    1 Answers
I couldn't seem to find a fit for your weapon, but it could be that I was looking in the wrong area on their holster selector. They have Sig Sauer listed as weapons for fitment, but than they have the 1911 listed separately. I tried to find a fit for the 1911 5inch barrel, but I didn't find a match for this particular holster. I wasn't sure if this would be considered a government style or Commander, or none of the above. You may have better luck at getting at the information by trying their holster selector -

You will have to do some minor fitting with the Sig 1911 with rails. Turn the oven on the lowest setting and place the holster in there for 20 minutes. After that, place your 1911 inside a thick boot sock and let your weapon sit there for approximately 30 minutes. Once you pull the sock and 1911 out of the holster your weapon will fit, albeit snugly. Do practice draws until the 1911 slides easily from the holster.

Yes after extended use you will develop wear or use marks. I personally carry four different 1911's and all are high end expensive weapons one being a Wilson Combat Elite but for fast draw and easy deployment this is a great rig.

I have one of these for a Sig P220 Stainless Elite .40 I used to use for work whenever we were serving warrants. I just bought my new one for a Kimber Custom II TLE/RL and a Night Hawk Custom Recon Enforcer I have in blue steel. The holster is made of Kydex and any Kydex holster will rub the slide when drawing and holstering the weapon. That's just the nature of the holster. The retention feature also adds a little more contact because of the release button. But, this is not excessive. On the stainless pistol I did not notice much holster wear. On a blued pistol you will probably get some wear over time like you will with any Kydex holster. If that is unacceptable, get a lined leather holster or a nylon holster. That's just the trade-off for equipment that you use on a regular basis.

This does depend on the item you do have and the generation of the item you do have as blackhawk has made changes to this item in the past. for example The magazine carriers will now be screwed onto the platform and will no longer be coming with a picatinny rail for the mag carriers to slide onto due to them easily getting caught on things and falling off.

My understanding is that the holster that fits the glock 17/19/22/31 will also fit the smith and Wesson m&p 40 full size,is this correct?
    1 Answers
No, a S&W M&P 40 will not fit in the holster designed for the Glock 17/19/22/31. According to Blackhawk's website, you will need part number 44H013BK-R, which is the same holster that will fit the Glock 20/21/37/39.
