    Excellent buy
I am prior US Army active duty, now reserve, and prior LEO, so you could say that I know what I want out of my gear. This pack is very well made, strong and study. Plenty of room, with all the S.T.R.I.K.E. webbing you could need (even on the bottom) if you need to add additional compartments. Zippers are heavy duty, and show no signs of weakness that you would get with a lesser made pack. They also have their own covers to keep out the rain, dirt, and sand. Shoulder straps are fully adjustable, and are thick and comfortable, the padding runs all the way overt your shoulder, and to the pack. There is plenty of padding for your back. I buy my gear based on my experiences from the past, not by guessing. I believe in the "buy once, cry once" theory, yes this pack is over $100.00, but it's definitely worth every penny, and holds its own with packs that run up to the $200.00 range, just be sure and check the size of the pack that will fit your needs first. I have other Blackhawk packs, and have bought a few packs just like what I have been issued in the past. Why? Simple, they have proven themselves to be the best option for that specific mission. Go ahead and save a couple bucks and buy a cheaper pack, you'll regret it, and wish you would have bought this one instead, remember, "buy once, cry once". Remember, I bought this because I did my research, for me it it is the best for its size, construction, and price range. own. This is a great base pack on its own, I can always add on to it if the mission dictates, when done, I can always remove the extra pouches. That's the great thing about a modular anything.

    Great pack
I just received my pack so I only have about a dozen miles on it, but I have the same pack from over a decade ago and it is still in good shape from the swamps to 10,000 foot mountains.
    ProsTough pack. Molle friendly.
    ConsBladder is microban.

    Best backpack worst bladder
I've had this backpack for a couple months now. By far the best backpack I've ever had! The hip strap is comfortable and actually transfers the load to the hips unlike several other hydration backpacks I've had. Love all of the attachment points and the compartment organization. Plenty of room for all your gear while still being able to compress down for when your not carrying as much gear. Workmanships appears very strong and durable. Honestly, this backpack is perfect (with one exception) and BLACKHAWK thought of everything. Having said that the bladder is horrible! Cannot get the taste out! I've carried a hydration pack for several years almost daily and have grown accustomed to a little bit of plastic taste and even kind of like it, so believe me when I say the plastic taste from this bladder is STRONG! I have rinsed it several times and even scrubbed it out. Its still is just as strong. I think I'm just going to throw my camelbak bladder in.

    Best 3 day pack
I have had this same pack since the 9th grade in high school. I still have it and it has gotten a lot of abuse. I've taken it on 2 week long hunts in the high country of Alaska, many snow storms, field excersizes, a 500 mile bicycle trip, and everyday use carrying books back in high school 10 years ago. It is still in great working order, by far the toughest pack I've had. I bought this new one because I wanted a different color. Highly recommended. U.S. Marine approved.
Pros-Lots of molle -simple, not a whole bunch of proprietary compartments. -very tough, good zippers, strong stitching -comfortable, I run with mine on at least 3 miles a day. -straps on each side ideal for rifles, sleeping bags, tents, etc... -hydration system
Cons-It could have some sort of straps or velcro on the waist strap to secure the ends that are loose from the buckles. -It would be nice to see a model exactly like this with an internal frame.

This bag is fantastic. Got it for my wife actually, who is extremely tough on all of her gear. This thing is tough tough tough. You could throw a much larger bladder in here if you needed/wanted. Very nice.

Does this bag have a place on the bottom to attach straps for a bed roll or other object?
    1 Answers
No, it does not have straps on the bottom, but it does have straps on both sides that I've used for such purpose. I've also used the side straps for rifles. Since the pack is covered in molle, it's easy to wrap paracord through the bottom portion of the pack to hold sleeping bags, sleep rolls, etc. I've done that as well and it works fine. This pack is worth the money, trust me.
