Out of Comfort Zone
Shirts are really better than expected. Had to get out of my comfort zone in regards to color and style, been wearing polos for a long time and decided I needed something new.
ProsVery well made, comfortable and concealability. Definitely a + in my book. 5.11 and LAPG continue to come through with great products and price.

I own several of these. They are what you expect from 5.11. Great fit and function. A bargain at the clearance price

Great for concealed carry and for IDPA Matches, too!
Bought the close out shirt, since the price was good for this 5.11 shirt. Fit true to size and was very comfortable, too. Did not 'print' my carry gun when IWB or OWB, and was also a good fit when shirt is tucked in.
ProsGreat fit and great close out price!

A word of caution on sizing
To echo some of the comments on sizing... I typically wear a Large, but the construction of some shirts require an XL because of how they fit across the back, and this shirt is one of those. I ordered the XL, and the fit on my chest and shoulders is spot on. However, there is a ton of room around my waist. I could cover up a full duty belt with little imprinting. I was hoping for a better fit.
ProsGood construction, I like the material
ConsSize that looks good with my arms at my side is too small to cross my arms....Size with room to cross my arms looks grossly oversized

Careful of the size reviews
I recently purchased two of these shirts and while I agree with the reviews about the quality of the materials and build, I wish I had not paid as much attention to the size reviews. I normally wear a 2X in every shirt I wear with them fitting well for concealed carry. I decided to follow the suggestions on here about purchasing a size smaller. I've worn them a couple of times now and I'm sorry I went with the smaller shirt. The problem is that through the chest and shoulders, the XL just does not give enough room for comfort and mobility. My suggestion is that if you wear a 2X, then buy a 2X. It may blouse a bit through the middle but you'll be able to reach up and scratch your other shoulder with no problem. Just my two cents. Stay Safe!

I got my shirt today and guess what! I love it! Fits great, very good material. At $22 I probably should have ordered more but next time. I'm one of the oddest shaped people you will ever meet and the side seems are very roomy and the shirt lets you breathe. LAPG, great job and keep it up!
ProsGood material Very comfortable
ConsCut large ( order a size down)

I have several of the older style shirts and decided to pick one of the new ones up. This one doesn't have the breakaway side vents like its listed, but otherwise its a good shirt. Also, i emailed customer service because my discount was never applied but they never responded.

Nice style and good construction. I normally have to try on shirts to determine if Med or Lg would be best for me. The review comments here steered me toward the Medium and I'm glad I didn't go any larger than that. Comfortable with enough room for CCW.

great shirts, watch the sizes
I've bought various flavors of these over the years, and always been satisfied. For people who don't carry, I would recommend you think about ordering TWO sizes smaller. I wear an XL in the polos, but a MEDIUM in the newer short sleeve covert shirts. I wear them for travel, as the hidden pockets are great for passports, credit cards and other small items. In those cases, I don't need the extra width (of which there is A LOT).
ConsNone, as long as you can figure out the size you reall need.

Snaps or Clamps?
I purchased three of these shirts and every snap on every shirt takes two hands to snap and two to pull them apart (without tearing the shirt, anyway). I've never encountered snaps this hard to use in my 66 years on the planet. Absolutely nothing like my other 5.11 Covert shirts in this regard; forget quickly pulling the snaps apart to access your weapon. Additionally, the fabric is very stiff and rough. They will have to be ironed unless you like the "I just wore these for pajamas last night" look!

L XL or XXL
The reviews say these run larger than their indicted size. I'm 6" 200# and normally wear XL shirts. I tried on a Large and, while it fit, it didn't really have enough room to not imprint a concealed hand gun. I tried the XL and it fit just fine. LAPG is closer to me than I thought it was. Next time I'll go there and avoid shipping charges. As of yesterday, they had a whole rack of these shirts in their store. If you ask nice you might even get the NRA discount.
ProsSize is spot on. Snaps instead of buttons, except for the collar button. I might even find a use for the hidden chest pockets.

Size is the only issue with these fine shirts
I'm satisfied with this garment. For the closeout $$$ you can't go wrong. The only issue is the size. Buy ONE size smaller than you normally wear. I wear XL and normally can't even think of getting in a Large, The large fit me perfectly (like you I read previous reviews) I bought some size small for my son who is tall and slender and they fit perfectly.
ConsSize is not accurate.

5 STARS WITH AN EXCEPTION
Great shirts. Light weight. Comfortable. The only problem is they run really big!! When I tried it on it looked sloppy because it was so large. lg is more like XL. I had to return my 3 shirts which cost me $15.00 in return shipping!! I wish LaPolicegear.com offered return shipping. I did reorder 3 more in medium, an ammo box and took advantage of a 5.11 fathers day 20% off promo, so my new order shipping cost was $2.99.
ProsLight weight. Comfortable.
ConsSizes run BIG!

I bought 4 of these shirts after owning a very similar style shirt several years ago. I am very pleased with the quality and style of these shirts. I don't know if the cut is designed to accommodate body armor but without you better plan on a fit that is anything but athletic. I like them for concealed carry and casual wear so I will most likely have them altered so as not to look so sloppy. I am not as fit as I would like to be and could lose 35 pounds before I would be considered athletic build and I think they are big, if that helps to complete the picture. Fits perfect across my shoulders, but the sides seem to drop straight down the the waist at the exact same width. For reference, I ordered XL in several of the plaid colors. Would order again, but would know that alterations would be needed.
ProsColor patterns Quality
ConsCut of shirt thru the torso is straight from the shoulders

Does this shirt have the Velcro side vents for access to a concealed firearm at your belt?
This particulate style of tactical shirt does not have the velcro waistline entry vent. The other 2 that I own do.

This particular style does not. It has the "Napoleon" zippered chest pockets. The style you want has the twin buttoned chest pockets (open, not flapped). Hope this helps.

If I wear a medium for the LAPG CCW shirts, what size should I get for these? Sounds like they're not true to size based on the reviews. Thanks.
That's a tough one, because ours were oversized a bit for concealment as well, but I know 5.11 tends to size a bit bigger than we do. I'll check with other customers to see if they have any feedback for you regarding this.

Do they run true to size or larger/smaller? I am in beween L/XL and this a problem depending on product.
I have the same problem (L/XL fitting varies by company). These shirts are true to size. My XL fits nicely.

Mine is about 1.5 sizes too big. I understand a little extra girth for concealment, but I have a Glock, not a SAW.

They do, in fact, run large...as noted previously probably 1.5x bigger than they should be. My XL's fits as if they are XXL

You indicate that solid colors are 100% cotton but there are no solid colors shown or listed. Does that mean no 100% cotton versions of this shirt are available?
the solid colors have sold out so we only have the blended material shirts left.

Are the buttons directly over the snaps? If so, which other Covert Casual Shirt have the buttons offset, so as to not break when commercially laundered?
On this 5.11 shirt, the button and snaps are the same thing. The buttons are false and have snap backings, so they are snaps themselves.
