I had to return the pants because of the fit. (I'm a size 4, 5'4", 130 pounds). They ended up being too tight across the pelvis. The pants otherwise were heavy duty quality. My chief complaint is that it ended costing me $17 dollars to ship back. Not worth it unless you're sure they fit well.
ConsFit. And cost to return if they don't fit.

Not Their Best Pant
I am a loyal 5-11 customer but have some issues with these pants. I love the fit but they are twice as expensive as the Taclite Pro pants and wear out twice as fast. I have three pairs and every single one the velcro is wearing out and the stitching across the bottom is coming out. The length is also different so if you normally wear a regular, get a long as the regular length is definitely not accurate. The darker colors also fade out very quickly even if you wash inside out on cold. For the price, I am not impressed at all when 5-11 has less expensive, more durable options.
ProsGreat fit through the hip, bottom, and waist Lots of pockets
ConsLength runs short Material and stitching wears out quickly Dark colors fade quickly Doesn't have the metal ID clip on the front belt loop the Taclite Pro pants have PRICE

These pants are great, however if you are curvy and got big quads the crotch area in the pants thin out and eventually tear. Didn’t last me a full year. So therefore I have a 1 star

5.11 - Never Let You Down
These pants absolutely exceeded my expectations - 5.11 did it again. As an EMT I shuffle between the Taclite Pro's, EMS Pants and the Strykes. Overall, the Stryke's are superior. The fit sits in a more modern position which adds comfort. The fabric is light enough to be my go-to in the summer but sturdy enough to be winter appropriate. Pocket placement is better than its counterparts. The Stryke pants work well for duty use, the classroom setting as well as on my days off when I decide to take a trip to the local shooting range. If I could, I would exclusively wear the Stryke's on duty, the only thing stopping me is the price tag.

First time I bought this style and was not disappointed! The fit is a great womens cut and sits great at the waist. I'm 5'3 , 140lbs and fit perfect in a size 4. Will definitely buy more!

The Long version is not a 36 inseam.
These are well-made pants with one big flaw. The inseam is NOT 36 inches....its 35 inches. Since I did a search for pants with a 36 inch inseam and these came up in the search results, I had the reasonable expectation that they would actually BE 36 inches long. Especially since they cost the better part of a Benjamin. Nope.
ProsWell made. Lots of pockets.
ConsLiar, liar inseam on fire.

Best women's tac pants!
These are the only tactical pants I will buy anymore. I have tried many other brands but these are the only ones with a true women's fit. I now have six pairs and love them all. Some are going on 4 years old and still continue to wear nice. They are a little pricey but definitely worth the splurge. I always wait to LA Police Gear has some sort of sale running. You won't be disappointed!
ProsGreat fit Last forever with multiple wears per week

The pants fit perfect. They ride lower on the waist then uniform pants (just below the belly button) and will require a bigger belt if you wear your duty belt with them. Very stain resistant. I did get a little grease from my rifle on my pants that wouldn't come out, but any other stain has come out.
Prosfit, stain resistance
Consstitching has started to come out after 9 months, but have been worn at least twice a week.

Worth the wait
These pants were on backorder for a while but they were worth the wait. I love these pants and have several colors. I have used them for hiking, kayaking and camping and they are tough and I love the fit. I have these in green and tan. Will probably get the grey as well.

I have been wearing 5.11s for a few years now and have just recently purchased WOMEN'S 5.11 tactical pants for work. I love these pants, they are super comfortable and fit well. My only recommendation would be to try a pair on before you order. From my experience they run small. Other than that I love them, just bought my third pair.

I am 5'9 with a 34" inseam and a short body...I always had to buy the men's tac pants and get the waist dropped, leaving me with virtually no side pocket entry. I also felt "dumpy" in the other tac pants. I bought these in long and I could not be happier! They fit more like a jean and make your butt look great. They also have stretch to them so you can actually move and the material keeps them looking good and doesn't wrinkle. Like someone else said, the thighs are a bit snug but I'm not complaining...these are great pants!
ProsFit, lower waist, length options, material

Pretty good pants
I'm a true size 10, which is what I ordered. They are a little tight through the thighs (I'm a little bigger through the thighs, so that happens to me a lot), but they are lose at the back (which also happens a lot). The regular length also feels about an inch short, but I know the long will be way too long for my 5'7" frame...They material is great (stretchy, doesn't feel like its going to rip), so I can deal with the fitted feel through the thighs... if 5.11 could master a pair of pants that didn't gap at the back (so I don't *have* to always wear a belt) I would buy 10 pairs of those.... That being said, I like these pants, and will buy another pair. I'm just debating if I get the long then get them hemmed to my liking, or deal with short pants.
ProsStretchy, more stylish than any other cargo/tac pants I've had before, Pretty good fit, lotsa pockets!, easy to care for
ConsBack gap at the waist, a little short on the length

I bought these for my wife cause she likes the cargo pockets. Me wearing 511 and other tactical pants I knew that they would be comfortable. At first she was not sure of them until wearing them for a day. Then decideded she liked them and now wants another pair.

The most comfortable and flattering work pants. I am used to wearing the tactical pants that are higher waisted, and hated how I looked. I love these pants cause they fit like jeans! Very comfortable material as well. I will be ordering more for work.

On the rise of the pants, how many inches is it? There are to many variables when it says low rise, mid-rise, and so on.
According to our 5.11 rep: "Rise will depend on the size of the pant. A size 8 for example, the front below waistband is 6 /34” and the back below waistband is 10 3/8”."

I am 5'1" and about 95lbs. I although I am 36, wear a junior size 0 in jeans. Is the size 0 in these pants comparable? I ordered the 5.11 Taclite Pro pant in a size 2 as they did not offer anything smaller and, lets just say I did not have to unbutton them to pull them on. I would have no hesitation to order if return shipping was also free, but returning is starting to almost add up to the cost of pants I'm looking at. Thank you for your time. Respectfully, Kari Vollmar
I sent your inquiry to 5.11 and here's their response - "The Women’s Stryke Pant may work for her as the Taclite Pro’s are more of a full fit. The waist for the Women’s Stryke Pant, size 0 is 14.5” and the inseam is 31” As for the size zero, i do show that we don't have that size selection added to the site just yet, but i have submitted it to my webmaster to have them added and it will take up to a week typically for it to be available to order.

How can I get a 10 long to be the 36" inseam and not the 34". And what is the fabric? What % is cotton and what % is polyester?
The fabric is 65% polyester/35% cotton ripstop. As for the sizing, these are sized by what waist size you choose and there is no way for us to change the inseam lengths that 5.11 already has established. You may need to contact them directly to see if that's something that they are able to get for you. I had the 12 long measured and the inseam for that comes to about 35", so you would have to order a size up for a better fitting inseam for these.

I have a pair of 5.11 women's cargo pangs, style 64358. In those pants I am a size 6, but based on the size chart link included with these Stryke pants, it looks like I should be a size 12 based on a 31 inch waist. This seems like a pretty drastic difference. Is the sizing of the 64538 pant similar to this Stryke pant 64386? Thank you!
the sizing should be the same as both use the same exact size chart. we would recommend staying with your normal size based on your current pants.

Are there any women's pants that sit at the waist? I need tan or khaki.

Mine sit just below the waist at the belly button. I would say they are mid-rise and I have to belt them as they fit in the seat area but are too big in the waist. Without a belt they fall to my hip bones.

How long is the rise on these pants? It seems short on the taclite pants. Would it be similar. Size 6 long. Thanks!
I own both of these pants . The Stryke fits a tad lower on the hips that the taclite. I personally prefer the Stryke as there seems to be more stretch in material. They do fade more than the taclite. Hope this helps.
on December 4, 2013
Its is shorter the normal female pants. I have a 6 regular and my girlfriend has a 6 long. They are similar in rise. Not super short or super high so probably mid rise to short. I wear pants lower then most females snd these fit perfectly. Hope that helps! Great pants, only ones made for women that fit without being baggie or too tight.

Is the waist hit at the natural waist line or are they low rise? I purchased a different style of 511 tactical women's pants for firearms training and they seemed to have a low rise waist. Once I had my duty belt on I was having to constantly pull them up.
The pants are slightly low rise, they sit and inch or so below what is today considered to be normal rise.
on November 10, 2013
from Philadelphia(suburbs, PA
Yes, they are a bit low-waisted, about an inch below my natural waist, but the reason I find they fall down is that the waist-hip ratio is off and the pants are 3 to 4 inches too large in the waist. I walk out of them without a belt, but I think asmaller size would be uncomfortable through the seat and thighs. If you're not so curvy, order a size smaller than the charts would indicate, as the pants run big in the waist.
on November 10, 2013
On me the pants fit below the belly button (1"-1 1/2") . I would consider them a little lower than my normal duty gear pants than I wear. I have not worn my duty belt with these Stryke pants yet so I could not tell you how they sit. I could only assume that it would feel like a low rise pant.
on November 10, 2013
They are also "modern fit" low rise. A head's up: The "regular" length is about 1.5" longer than the Tac lite Pros. I'm a 30" length and now I have to get all Stryke pants hemmed. That's the other bummer about these pants (besides low rise). I don't recommend them for use with duty belts. 511's "Modern Fit" low rise was clearly not a design by a working female patrol officer. I recommend them only for plain clothes light duty assignments. Otherwise, the material makes these the most comfortable tactical pants I've ever had. I hope this helps.

I wear a size 14 in regular dress pants and they are a little snug. do these pants stretch any or should i get a 16.
These 5.11 Pants do stretch a bit, but if a size 14 is a little snug you would be better off purchasing a size 16.
on May 12, 2013
I bought a size up (8 instead of a 6) because I read that they were snug. THEY STRETCH!!! The 8s fit well at first, but after wearing I could literally pull them off without unbuttoning them. I do not like that much stretch. Maybe the 6 would have been tight at first, but then stretched to a good fit.
