    Good Product/ SoSo fit
The pants are a good product but I think I have been spoiled by some other brands. The Tru Specs are exactly what I ordered as to size. and fit. However over recent years I have become accustomed to a little snugger fit and probably more important; so has my wife. The pants are a bit baggy compared to some other brands. However they are very well made and I plan to keep them.

    Well made, runs large.
Overall, these are great pants. They're well made and do everything they should. The sizing is a little bit vague though, seems to me that they're a bit larger than what I was expecting: Medium/Reg is both too long and too wide on a 180lb 5'9 man. Still wearable with a belt, but not the fit I was expecting. I'll order the next batch smaller.

    Worth the Money
Item is as described. I recommend button fly over zipper. Easy to repair and more comfortable in the crotch section. Wears well, the poly cotton holds up to stains and dirt, and has held up well. Not as soft as cotton only, but is comfortable and will last older hopefully.
    ProsDecent construction Comfortable. Button Fly
    ConsNone I've found yet.

    Performed throughout Iraq & Afghanistan
Wore these as a combat journalist in both theaters. Despite regular abuse, countless foot patrols, and scrambling through the east Afghan mountains, these held up beautifully. And when you're ready to retire them, they make great cutoff shorts. Buy these; I believe they're higher quality than USMC issue trousers (speaking from direct experience)
ProsTough, well stitched, rip and tear-resistant, dry fast, tolerates infrequent washing, etc.
ConsWouldn't mind if the Med/Reg was cut a little longer in the inseam

    Best BDU's
I was issued these pants at work and wore one single pair for an entire year on shift (washing after every shift of course). These pants stood up very well. They're a little worn and faded but still wearable. I loved these pants so much, I bought a few different colorations for off duty.
    ProsDurable, perfectly executed BDU's
ConsI can't really fault the pants because they're following bdu specs, but a zippered option would be nice

    Love em'
I love these pants. Not only can I wear them to the shooting range, but the OD Green pants are better than my Scout leader uniform pants. These things don't fade and don't snag when we're hiking through the woods. Highly recommend.

They are lighter for summer but I wear them in the winter to. Back when I was in the Army and BDU's were still issued we were issued this kind of BDU's for warmer weather.

Personally, I wear these all year. They are a lighter fabric that is a little better suited for summer, but they do just fine in winter as well. I live in Northern Utah. Wear them all summer with no complaints, and wore them to work this morning...spent 30 minutes shoveling my driveway before I left.

These are a medium/light weight fabric blend. I've used it out in late October weather in Ohio and didn't have any problems; but they are more comfortable in milder weather.

Greetings, Ripstop (poly/cotton) is definitely a lighter blend fabric which provides greater versatility for summer/winter; We are currently using these with a baselayer for winter training (at -18degC) with no issues

I am a 34" waist in Jeans. How true to size are these pants in the waist? I am wondering if I should order the medium (I'd be right at the 34" maximum) or a Large (I'd have several extra inches). Thanks
    6 Answers
I was a just above a 34" inch waist and I ordered the medium/regular and they fit just fine for me. My waist is a little smaller now and they are still fitting fine. Hope this helps!
    on April 18, 2014
    from Northfield, Vermont
Definitely go with the medium. Am a 34, but usually order 36 for a little extra room, so I ordered a large and they we very big, closer to a 38. I had to return them because they were to big. Hopefully that helps.

They are pretty spot on as far as the waist goes. They are very roomy as far as leg room goes. You could always ware a belt or use the small straps on the waist band to tighten it down if they're a bit big.
    on April 18, 2014

You could get away with a medium regular, a large regular is loose fitting and really comfortable though.

They are true to size medium covers 31to35 if you have a 34in waist they will fit well. I am a 32-33in waist an they fit great

They shrink, so unless you are planning to shed a few inches (and keep them off) I'd say go bigger.

They are straight like normal pants. However, they have the drawstring leg closures at the bottom, if you choose to use them. I don't personally like the drawstrings, so I removed them. I love the pants and purchased six pair in different colors.

I like these pants but don't want any draw ties on the bottom of the leg. What's the deal with the draw strings ? Can you leave them open ?
    1 Answers
BDU Pants generally have drawstrings near the bottom of the leg to tighten the ankles in order to tuck them into boots neatly. You do not have to use the draw strings if you don't want to.
