    Has exactly what you need
I am 6-03/215 and wear the Sm-Med. The Lg-XL is huge - I know because I tried it on in store. I purchased KDH side plates separately and went with AR600 Level IV 10x12 Curved Rifle plates. I love the buckles in the back - velcro in front. It allows you to set it up and velcro one side - so when you need to don it - you merely lift the front flap and velcro the other side. There is PLENTY of space to allow room to pull it around yourself on that side without assistance. That is really what you want - a carrier that does not require your buddy to pull the Velcro around for you - a little help? Anyway- again buckles on cummerbund in back - Velcro in front. Perfect. Will likely purchase more for rest of team and swap other carrier out for this. Carry more in the store guys!!!
ProsBuckles in back - Velcro in front- allow you to stage it without opening and closing a bunch of Velcro flaps. Takes side plates which is a bonus - and you pay for those separately, like the front/rear plates. Good cost on this carrier.
ConsYes - it is loud to pull open the front Velcro closure - but are you really expecting to size this again in the middle of a building search?! It is fine.

    Can't Beat The Price
I'm ex-Infantry and now a Special Police Officer. I was looking for a plate-carrier similar to the one I used overseas. The vest is capable of taking the weight off of your shoulders if you are using hard plates. The transfer of weight was surprising to me in a fantastic way. I wear this vest for 8 hours a day with soft plates, IFAK, Admin Pouch, Radio Pouch, and eventually 9mm mag pouches. The Molle system is durable and supportive. For the low cost, you can't beat it. I'm 5'8" 180 lbs and it fits snug. The S/M size will easily fit people 20 lbs heavier than and several inches taller than me. Ive recommended this to all the men I work with. The vest will be stiff at first, but once you add weight and use to it, it will get broken in, obviously.
Pros-Velcro is VERY strong. -Weight Distribution -Covers more of your torso than an average vest/plate carrier -Price is unmatched
Cons-The Admin pouch built into the vest needs to be opened with both hands and is still difficult to open. I don't use it.

Big Man Friendly / 11x14 WINNER
This is for the EXO Plate Carrier (L/XL). The search for a plate carrier that is big man friendly, and will run 11x14 steel core plates is over. I'm 6'6 330lbs with a once athletic build now fluffy as a pillow, and this carrier fits flawlessly. Ample room for adjustment, good weight distribution, and from several days of drill in it, no "hot spots". Commonly asked questions. Q: Will this vest fit 11x14 plates? A: Yes. I have 11x14 Spartan single curve with trauma pads in mine, no issue at all. Q: "I'm a bigger guy" - "I'm fluffy", - "I'm closer to the body of Buddha than an athlete, will this fit me?" A: Yes! You Are Good To Go! Condor still takes a lot of flak for being "low rent". The truth is though, as anyone who has used Condor products will tell you is that they are perfectly serviceable, hold up well, built to be beaten on.
ProsThe EXO L/XL fits bigger guys looking to run larger playes without any issues.
ConsCummerbund will slide around on you a little. Easy fix.... once you have it adjusted to where you want it, simply tie the webbing on the Cummerbund to the webbing on the rear of the carrier together with 550 cord, grim locks, etc.. Issue solved.

    Solid carrier 👍🏽
I have spartan plates, 3 mag pouch, tidepool hydration pack and there's more than enough real estate for everything. This is a great full coverage carrier, especially with the pad insert accompanying the trauma pads that came with the plates. Lots of protection. This is a great well made carrier for a civy like me that's into the culture and wants respectable gear that'll hold up. Actual operators may require something more premium grade like T3 but for my purposes it's perfect.
ProsSolid make and material. Good design. Secure feel. Evenly distributed weight. Easy to don/doff. Comes with its own pad inserts.
ConsWould love if all condor products were made state side. To my knowledge some already are. What you gain in what you carry sacrifices mobility but that's the nature of this carrier. The sentry plate carrier is a great minimalist alternative.

    Real value
First off, lapg was great ! Fast shipping and good prices. Can't go wrong with that. As far as. The carrier goes, all things considered. It's not a eagle ind. or a tactical Taylor but it's not $ 200 + either for the money it just can't be beat, well made , good stitching. Good padding where it needs to be, it holds the plates pretty good. They could improve on the system to lock the plates in but does do a good job. Over this carrier is your best bet if you need sold gear on a budget
ProsGreat quality for the price, lots of webbing for all your gear, very adjustable
ConsThe system for adjusting the cumberbun could be improved as well as the system to secure the plares

    Re: carrier sizing
I am not sure if this is a place to ask this question, but here goes. My vest is a Second Chance concealable. The panel sizes are: Front: S1-2817 Rear: T1-2517 My height is 6'2" and weight is 265. Will this carrier fit my panels? The information the sizing chart is not overly helpful.

If there's a small/medium size in stock purchase that one. I'm 5"8 214lbs and the large/xlarge is a bit loose on me. I like the carrier a lot due to the ability to fit soft armor and hard armor at the same time in it.

I am 6' and 215 and I ordered the L-XL and have adjusted the top straps almost max and the cummerbund pretty snug and it just fits. I would think if I were a foot shorter and weighed proportionate to that height I would have to have ordered the S-M. Now depending on what armor you place in these may make a difference in how it fits. With steel plates it is going to be pretty flat and straight. Women may need to consider the shape.

This vest is an AMAZING buy!! Fortunately, being 6 feet 4inches and 250lbs. This vest fit me well. Unfortunately, with your height and I am assuming fit, due to being in LE, I do not suggest buying this as a duty vest. If you wanted a quick BUGOUT vest…maybe…. Due to female to male anatomy, the upper chest area is where you will pose a risk! I am assuming that the female chest anatomy plays a major role in your decision making process and I caution against causing yourself harm in the name of saving a few bucks. I’ve heard of first hand, the problems associated with body armor and females while deployed overseas. If the female anatomy isn’t a issue due to Nature, it never hurts to buy and try. I’ve always had my female officers measured and sized by a licensed company. If the department is not able invest in your protection, I always told my officers to used it as a tax write off. If you take the average amount of money spent on lunch and converted it over to bagged lunch, you’d have plenty of money to invest in a tailored vest. I would make sure to get the MOLLE webbing on my vest. LAPG offers a Vast selection of attachments and pouches for all types of mission essential needed tools. I’ve bought numerous items from them and you can’t beat the price without diminishing the quality of a product. I’ve served over 10 years in LE and Military combined. The name brand stuff is amazing but you are cheating your wallet based on name and not on quality. LAPG has the equivalent, if not better than the name brand stuff for a way better price tag! -Phillip CPT, Military Police- SRT, PSD

I'm 6'3" and 280 pounds, I wear a 2XL shirt and ordered the L/XL carrier and it fits perfectly. I don't think the carrier sizes have anything to do with ride height as much as circumference. My suggestion would be to order based on shirt size.

The size of plate you want to carry should determine which size to buy. I need 11 x 14in plates, so I had to get the xl. If you're still worried that it may be too long, you can go directly to condor'so website and see the exact dimensions for both sizes.

Go to Condor website and search EXO. You will find they have two sizes and a diagram how to measure your ballistic panels for fit. FYI I'm 6'1" 220lb and the small medium fits perfect. It's not specific to body measurements as it's adjustable at the cummerbund and shoulder straps.

The sizes are pretty accurate as listed. The S-M is 30"-48" chest and the L-XL is 36"-58". As for length, unless you are unusually short, there shouldn't be an issue. I'm 5'10" and have no problems with length on the L-XL.

I have Point Blank in mine and they panels fit perfectly. I have Second Chance panels that will fit in it also. I am not familiar with Bullet Safe Armor but check the widths of the upper portions of your panels. The L/XL carrier is 11.75" wide for the front panel an 12" wide for the back. The S/M is the same except the front width is 11.5." It is a well built and sturdy carrier. Well worth the investment. Good luck and stay safe.

I would say it would. I'm not familiar with the bullet safe armor till I looked it up. It appears you will have some extra material on the sides due to the bullet safe not appearing to wrap around the sides as much as some of the traditional soft armor. But with the amount of adjustment on the Condor carrier, it shouldn't make a difference.

Hello. I'm 6'0 190 and ordered the S/M. This vest is pretty customizable for various sizes. With the exception of length. I'm just about at the end of how much I can lengthen this size. As for width I have tons of space left over to either loosen or tighten the straps. Also read very carefully the one you are getting. EXO allows for soft armor and hard armor plates.other models do not.

I'miss guessing the mags you are speaking of would be standard .223/5.56 mags. If this is the case, you can run a row of 3 mags comfortably on the front. With this being said, I run the Condor triple mag kangaroo pouch so that I have 3 rifle and 3 pistol mags on my chest. Hope this helps

The L/XL is the carrier that AR500 has in their carrier/plate package with 11x14 plates as this is one of very few carriers on the market that will hold the 14" long plates. If you already have 11x14 plates, this will fit them. Also, that AR500 package is only available with Level III plates. If you want Level III+ plates, then you have to buy this carrier separately. If you use L or smaller plates, this is still a good choice as the L/XL will also hold L size BALCS panels to give level II or IIIA protection beyond the area covered by the plates, and the size S/M carrier will hold M size BALCS panels.

Hey, the cummerbund is detachable from the back, so you could replace it, BUT upon receiving the plate carrier and starting to use it, I found that the cummerbund DOES have side pockets that will fit plates. My 6X8 side plates are very snug but they do fit. Granted: I do not think the side pockets were meant for plates, it is the tough material on the outside, but the inside is just mesh webbing. I think it's sufficient to hold plates comfortably, but I can see why they say it can't hold plates.

The cummerbund is removable. It slides through on the back and attaches in the front via velcro (See photo). The cummerbund that comes with this one is 7" in finished height but the carrier could easily take a taller one of 9" and maybe 10". The cummerbunds on this model accepts soft armor and I have a soft armor panel on each side that's 5" by 11" with ample length for longer ones if needed. If for some reason yours doesn't fit, there are also companies that make molle side plate carriers that you can attach to the cummerbund if needed.

Condor says 6x12 for the L/XL, but I found that the velcro on the top of the cummerbund pocket barely closes on a 6" wide IIIA panel, and there is a lot of extra length in the pocket with a 12" long panel, so 5.5x14 is probably better. However, If you are using BALCS soft panels in the front and back, then there is no need for soft panels in the cummerbund unless the side wings of the BALCS panels don't overlap for you. The company that I bought my size L BALCS panels from provided 5"x14" non-ballistic stiffeners cut from plastic sheet. These fit well, allowing the velcro in the cummerbund pocket to close properly and keeping the cummerbund from bunching up. There is still extra length in the pocket so I think 5x16" would fit. I find that a 8"w x 10"h side pocket attached with MOLLE is more useful to cover the area above the cummerbund/BALCS panel wings and up to my armpit. This also fits an 8x10 ESAPI plate.

Wonder if anyone could help me with sizing. I been reading comments about people who are 6ft or taller around the 220lb range wearing L/XL. Also read a few comments of people below 5'10" around the 200lb wear S/M. I am 5'10" and 235lbs, i wear large shirts which fit me perfect, Xl is too big, and size 37 work pants (blauer 37 size, 36 is perfect but snug and 38 is too large). My chest was measured at 46. I was wondering what size plate carrier would fit me perfectly without being too big like bouncing around when running or interfering with grabbing equipment from my belt. Also ill being wearing a nylon duty 2 inch belt with this carrier on. I'll be putting both soft armor and 1012 plates on. Send me some advice.

You want the L/XL. Think of it this way - it's very easy to take up the slack to make things smaller but very hard to make things larger. I probably have an extremely similar build to you - we weigh almost the same and I stand at 6'1". Out of the box, the plate carrier in L/XL slipped on me easy and I only had to take up the shoulder straps. If you're worried about too big around the middle, don't sweat it. The condor has a really nice design where the middle is entirely velcro and the lumbar has correctly layered velcro so you could overlap the two tongues for side plates around the front and it won't be goofy. I'm 5'8" and 240. The l/xl is a little longer top to bottom than I would have liked. I was able to adjust it so it fits right, but I had to remove the shoulder pads. I feel like I might be one of those in-between sizes where the l/xl is a little too big, but the s/m is too small. Been putting it through its paces and haven't had any comfortability issues. I use it as a plate carrier for active shooter and it fits nice when running soft armor under it. I also wear a duty belt with it and haven't had any issues with it interfering with my duty gear.

I'm 6'3" 200 lbs with a 44 inch chest and I wear large shirts as well. I went with the S/M and it was a good fit. The cumberbun is ajustable in the back and the shoulder straps adjust well too. It can hold up 11 x 14 plates, but it's a tight fit. 10 X 12 plates are perfect. The carrier will hold a medium size soft armor as well. The vest is overall bulky once you get armor and pouches set up. It's not good for low-pro missions. You can fit soft armor and 6x6 plates on the sides as well. The best sits just above my naval, if you adjust the shoulder straps just right it should clear your belt. It's a descent vest for the price.

Another thing to consider is not just girth, but torso length. If you have shorter legs and a longer torso, then you might want to have a 13" or 14" plate. Either size will fit a Medium SAPI/ESAPI (9.5x12"), but only the L/XL will fit a L (10x13") or XL (11x14") SAPI/ESAPI plate. I am 6'1" but wear a 31" inseam on my trousers, and measure 19" from sternal notch to navel, So I use an 11"x14" plate (XL ESAPI). Also how much BALCS coverage do you want? If you are looking for more Level II or IIIA coverage with a size L BALCS set, then you need to go with the L/XL carrier. If size M BALCS panels are sufficient for you then the S/M might be OK.

There is a large pocket in each main panel (front and back) that will take a BALCS cut soft armor panel. Front and Back BALCS panels are different from each other, and are usually sold as a set of two (one each F and B). Within each BALCS panel pocket is a smaller pocket that will hold either a ceramic SAPI/ESAPI plate or a steel plate such as AR500 or Spartan. These plate pockets are on the outside facing of the interior of the BALCS panel pocket, so not for a non-ballistic blunt-trauma-only plate. If you are using steel plates (thinner than ceramic), then each plate pocket can also hold a Level IIIA soft panel and/or a non-ballistic blunt-trauma-only soft panel of the same dimensions as the plate (if you are using this as a plate carrier only with no BALCS panels). BALCS panels are wider than the widest plates, providing soft coverage beyond the edge of the plate, unlike plate-sized IIIA panels. The wings of BALCS panels provide some side coverage. The cummerbund has a long rectangular pocket on each side for a soft panel or a non-ballistic stiffener. Plate pouches (not included) can be attached to the cummerbund with MOLLE to hold rectangular soft panels and/or hard plates (with or without trauma pads) on the sides. Standard sizes for side pouches are 6x6, 6x8, 8x8, and 8x10 (w x h).

Is this a one size fits all vest? Are s/m and L/Xl refering to the size of the plate itself or the vest based on chest size and waist circumference? Can I attach a condor battle belt Gen 2 from the bottom of the vest? Thanks.
    1 Answers
It's referring to both the size of the vest and the plates that can be accommodated with that vest. Here's a link to their site that provides the dimensions of the 2 different sizes http://www.condoroutdoor.com/Condor-XPC.aspx As for the Condor Gen 2 Belt, that really was made to be used in conjunction with the Condor H Harness http://www.lapolicegear.com/tg-215-h-harness.html - this is to reduce weight from the already weight bearing vest. Now, having said that i don't think there is any reason why you wouldn't be able to attach the belt to the vest with tac ties, but i don't think it will be as secure and look as clean as you would like it to because than you wouldn't be able to secure your belt around your waist and the vest at the same time. There is probably a way that you can rig it to where it will work, but i don't think it was meant to be used in that way.

I pulled this carrier out to check to see if there is anything that secures the soft armor and I didn't see anything specific inside the carrier that the faux soft armor that it comes with attached to. There is a lot of velcro that secures the soft armor inside from the outside and it looks pretty secured with the padding that comes with carrier, so i don't think you will have any issues with this.

I know there are tons of sizing questions here, but I was wondering if anyone had experience with a situation like mine. I am 6'5", 42" chest, 34" waist. I will be wearing the carrier over soft body armor when we have high risk calls. My soft armor is in an external carrier which I carry a back up gun inside. Realistically, when this is on my chest it's about 46-48" and the bottom of my vest would be around 40". I'm assuming a L/XL would be right, but I don't want to be swimming in the thing. It'd be nice to have it a little longer but I don't want it interfering with accessing cuffs or mags on my duty belt. The height of my soft armor carrier is 16" in front and 18" in back, and it works perfectly. Any help is appreciated.

With your height you could use the L/XL but they are big. The adjustable side straps have a lot of play in them. I'm 6'2 172lbs. I wear the S/M and it fits great. The height is what's most important. I didn't want it choking me when I sat down. There are adjustable straps on the shoulders too. Overall it's a great vest.

I am 6' tall, 230 lbs with a 34" waist. I purchased the exo carrier only a few weeks ago in a small/medium to add as part of an extensive go bag. Currently I only have soft armor in it as I have yet to purchase plates. I have a fairly broad chest that the carrier has no problem with. My attempt was to load a soft armor carrier that was small and gave the mobility of a minimalist style plate carrier. It does hang a good 2-3 inches above my waist which was what I was hoping for. I have the cumber bun tightened down most the way in the small/medium for it to be snug. I do not know to what aspect the large size increases the circumference or length. I went back and forth on which size I needed and I am very happy that I went with the small/medium. It fits perfectly in the aspect that I wanted. Those that don't feel like an operator with out a huge bulky kit and an entire tool box hanging off of them might consider it too small. Those looking for that may also not like the webbing set up. Due to the way the upper and lower sections of molle are spaced apart. My kit is set up with 3 AR mags in the pocket, two pistol mags and an admin zippered pouch on the front of the pocket, a horizontally mounted knife on the single row over the kangaroo pouch and ID patches take up most of the top. I have a multi-tool on the right cumber bun (strong side) and a small thin med pouch on the left cumber bun (support side). In my opinion this carrier was designed as a light load or recon rig and may not meet the needs of someone looking for a heavy load out. If that is the case I would recommend their Defender carrier which I have used in swat operations and was happy with its quality but it was a little too bulky for my wants in this case. The quality is very good for the low price. It may not be as good as some others but those others are also triple the price. As a back up light duty carrier I am very happy with this for the price. For the guy that asked about only using hard plates to put this over his external soft carrier: I personally would either ditch your external soft carrier first and put a second set of soft armor in the exo carrier or just pick up a hard plate only carrier. I would not attempt to put this over much more than a bdu top or maybe a thin jacket. Hope I answered everyone's questions as I had a lot of unanswered ones when I purchased this.

I'm 3 inches shorter than you. Same chest & waist size. I went L/XL and am happy. But, I put my plates in the vest. This is a carrier, not a tac vest. There are many of those to choose from as well if you just want a MOLLE vest to throw on over the armor. Otherwise, this is a nice plate carrier. Your plates will likely be a little long for the pockets so a modification may be necessary.

I am 5 foot 8 and have a 44 chest my soft armor in the front is 16 inches and in the back is 17 inches the small medium holds my Soft armor perfectly and fits well you may want to go with the large/ extra large do to your height the vest is adjustable so you will not be swimming in it

I am 6'5" 210 w/ a 36" waist. I bought the Condor Exo for the same purpose and have put soft armor and an 8x10 plate in it. I purchased the L/XL and it fit great with and without duty uniform underneath and it still has plenty of room for further fit adjustments. Solid built vest at a great price, I highly recommend it.

Will this vest fasten on the sides without the cummerbund in place?
    1 Answers
no the cummerbund is the primary holding force to strap the front and back together to keep the carrier in place so it would not work correctly without it.

Will 10x12 plates fit in the L/XL carrier without moving around?
    1 Answers
the L/XL can fit plates up to 10 1/2" x 14 1/2". you should be able to get the plates to sit nice and tight though with out moving around.
