    Good armor carrier
I've had several armor carriers in the past. This carrier is good quality. Like anything else if you use it a lot it will wear out with time, but for the price it's easily replaced.
ProsQuick release Plenty of room for Molle gear Heavy duty velcro
ConsWith consistant use the velcro will wear out.

    Condor Defender Plate Carrier
I looked at other options and bought this because it was wider ( I wanted sufficient room to mount four Shotgun Ammo Pouches, 2 side by side and one row above the other.) While that idea worked fine, this is a big vest: I'm 6'6" and 265 pounds and it's plenty loose, even over a sweatshirt. This will work just fine for my purposes, but I'd suggest that if you don't have a big barreled chest, to look for something else.
ProsLots of room on the front to mount MOLLE pouches.
ConsSkinny guys shouldn't order this, there are better choices with other Condor vests.

Great vest, well built, one size does not fit all
I received the vest super fast! It was a good thing because I had to return it. The vest itself was very well built, the molle system is awesome and all over this vest. The Velcro is extremely strong and felt like it would old up for years! The only drawback to this vest was that it was a little big on me. I am 6' tall and weight around 200lbs. When I put this on the length from the sternum to the bottom of the vest was about an inch and a half too long. With my duty belt on, it sat on top and pushed my belt down. I attempted to adjust the shoulders a lot and it did not help much. I'm not heavy in my mid section so I had to tighten the cumber bun really tight, yet it was still too bulky on the sides and inhibited access to my firearm and taser. I would have loved to keep this vest and would have if they offered different sizes. It fit my soft ballistics very well and they measure 16X22. I had to return the vest and I ordered the EXO S/M to try out and I am hopeful it will fit. It wasn't the actual product that got the 3 stars, Condor makes great stuff, but it was the lack of sizing that ruined it for me. If you are big this would work for you, but if you are under 6' tall and less than 200lbs, it may be too big on you!
ProsWell built, solid. Hook and loop was strong!!
ConsNeed better sizing. Too long from top to bottom, sat on my duty belt....

nice for the price with some exceptions
carrier is made of quality materials. I removed the padding inserts to make it thinner with plates and pads installed. the side plates pockets are on the cummerbund which is not secured to the back of the carrier so they tend to flop around when plates are installed. I finally had to just remove my side plates because of this. the side plate pocket should also be deeper. putting a standard 6x8 side plate in has a couple inches of plate exposed at the top.
Prosgood price. quality materials. lots of Velcro fasteners. molle for days.
Consside plate pockets cummerbund not the easiest to get out of or in to the carrier tends to buckle under the weight of inserted plates

    Quality Product
I read a few reviews and watched videos reviewing this product before I bought it and everything I read and saw put it in the moderate range of value for this vest. I got in it and although being my first plate carrier I really enjoy it. I am 6' tall and 180lbs and it fits me well with out plates in it. I have worn it around the house and doing yard work to get used to it and break it in and I have not any problems with discomfort. I will eventually get plates and do more running and training with this vest but over all I am happy with it. it is thick and does cause a lot of sweating but I was aware of that before buying and it's a non issue for me. there were no loose threads or bad stitching, the drag handle functions as it should. I gave it a 4 star rating because while I like this vest and plan on keeping it for a long time it could be a little thinner or could be more breathable.
ProsGood Stitching Thick Front/back and side plate carrier lots of area for attaching gear moderate weight
Conscould be lighter Thick, causes sweating

    Good, not great.
First the personal particulars: 6' 2" 220-230; suit jacket: 42L; BDU: LL; That being said Im a little out of shape since the Marines. I have this plate carrier adjusted down to fit snug over a technical/combat shirt, and prior to adding plates, mag pouches, etc. Mostly for personal defense, I do work for the DOD and I feel if I was deployed/stationed OCONUS and dropped 15+ lbs this thing might feel loose. I adjusted the cumber-bun as tight as it would go in the back and left about a 2-3 inch gap in the front between the velcro flaps. This puts the side plate pockets under an inch from front/back pockets on either side. I had to adjust the shoulder straps some to bring the front plate high enough to rest on my chest and cover the vitals propperly and comfortably. I dont think this could be adjusted down for someone smaller than 200lbs, even myself if I got back down to Marine Corps weight @ 185ish, without hitting the gym and bulking up. Otherwise, awesome piece of gear for your personal/professional kit.
ProsVery well constructed; stitching, velcro and plate pockets for multiple armor configurations. MOLLE webbing forever! Great for larger guys with need for full size plates and lots of adjustment.

In the Q&A it's confusing. You have one customer service answer saying this vest will not accept soft armor and the vest is only designed for plates. Then another service rep saying it accepts soft armor. In the description it also says it accepts soft balcs soft armor. So which is it? Does accept soft armor or not?
    1 Answers
I am sorry for the confusion, hopefully we can clear this up. If you are talking about this type of soft armor then no it will not fit: http://www.lapolicegear.com/sa-falcon6-male-vest.html If you are talking about this type of soft armor then yes it will fit: http://www.lapolicegear.com/ar500-hybrid-soft-armor.html Or it can use hart plats such as this: http://www.lapolicegear.com/ar500-level-iv-10x12.html I think the confusion is that the two reps who responded were thinking of different types of soft armor.

5'7. 145lbs. On the skinnier side. Will this vest fit? I tried on a friend's EXO carrier in s/m and there was about an inch of space between beltline and bottom of vest. But rest of the vest felt fine, just a little short.
    4 Answers
No this will not fit It is longer than the exo but it is made for guys who are heavier I am 5'9" at 300lbs and have the cummerbund at its tightest I believe the exo would be better for you. Incidentally when you put the vest on it should stop about 2 inches above the nave . Hope this helps.

I'm 6'1'' 210 and I have the belly band pretty tight. It's snug on me. It may be loose on you but the belly band shouldn't overlap for snug fit. If you tighten up the shoulders straps you could use your pants belt.

I'm 6"0 ft ...250lbs and this is a vest for bigger guys I put it on and it fits me good but that's with the straps tighten pretty much all the way. The vest sits about an inch above my belt line and have plenty of space for me inside. If your not on the bigger side I don't recommend you get it because it will be too big but it is a really good vest and good material just sucks that condor doesn't make size difference for this vest.

All vests are different: I'm 6'6", 270 pounds and this vest is almost too big for me. I bought it specifically because it has more vertical rows for attaching pouches than similar vests (and it handily fits two shotgun ammo pouches side by side that are not possible to fit on some other vests). This is a good vest for the big, barrel chested guys - I'd suggest you'd find some other vests will fit you better.

I bought this to carry my soft armor panels from my concealable carrier. It's a good starting point, but I had to modify the straps on mine. I am 5'08" and 170lbs. The carrier sits way to low, especially if you wear it with a gunbelt. To get the vest to sit high enough I had to really adjust the shoulder straps down. To the point that the straps extend past the molle Velcro panel, and the first row of molle under that. The strap had to use the loop Velcro on front of the ID panel to hold the shoulder strap in place. To make up for this, I took the hook fastener material off of the shoulder straps and re sewed the material higher up on the shoulder strap. I basically shortened the shoulder straps by 6 inches to make it work for me. For the price, the carrier works with some tinkering. It's well made for the price, but the shoulder straps are really not designed to adjust the carrier to hold the armor in the right position on most any average sized torso. There are some reviews out there that make note of this. But, it represents a good starting place, if your not afraid of possibly having to tweak the vest to fit the way you want it to.

I don't think this will fit you to well. It's a one size fits most, and you are on the larger end of most with just your height alone, so you may need to look for one that comes in additional sizes. In the velco section, the velcro is broken up into three "rows." On the front, the top and bottom "rows" of velcro are MOLLE compatible (the middle "row" is sewn down.) On the back, the top and bottom "rows" are sewn down and the middle "row" is MOLLE compatible. You should be able to mount a STRIKE CQC platform using that velcro MOLLE, but since I haven't done it, i'm not 100% certain.

The velcro section is indeed Molle webbing. I have several external pouches and even a KBar attached there, with plenty of room for my velcro patch in the center. Hope that helps.

No, you are not seing things. The Defender Plate Carrier has the loops on the velcro and a STRIKE holster will fit perfect in this area.

Hi, I have the ABA soft armor panels that wrap completely around my torso! Will this carrier fit my panels?
    1 Answers
This Condor Plate Carrier will fit soft armor, but it will not fit soft armor that wraps all the way around your body. The front and back portion of this carrier are not a single piece. You can see the dimensions of the front and back portions on the product page.

How do rigs like this come apart to take on and off?
    1 Answers
To put this plate carrier on and off, you would want to pull up the flap in the front which would give you access to one of the side flaps which you could then pull on to open the side. That way you would not have to pull the entire plate carrier over your head.

When fully extended, the bottom of this Condor Plate Carrier has a 52" circumference, so it should fit a 42"-44" waist just fine.

Will this vest fit a male with a 34 inch waste? I recently purchased a similar vest and was too big.
    1 Answers
Yes, when loaded up this vest should fit an individual with a 34" waist. I tried it on with nothing on it and it felt fine, it is adjustable. (I have a size 30 waist).
