Description
Features:

TAG's Rampage is a split front (patent pending) plate carrier that will accommodate any size trauma plate, sizes small through large long. The carrier has removable cummerbunds with removable side plate pouches. The front, back, and cummerbunds are cut to fit after market level 3A soft armor. You can now have full front, back and side armor protection in a low profile user friendly package. The split in the front allows you to set up your gear and quickly get in and out of the carrier via side entry. It is also fully covered in P.A.L.S. webbing, with adjustable shoulder straps and a heavy duty drag handle. This piece of gear is overbuilt to withstand whatever you throw at it and is backed by a lifetime warranty.

The sizing is based on plate size overall not body size.

    Rampage Plate Carrier
A quality made plate carrier made in the USA by TAG! However, I think TAG is phasing them out because they are hard to find.
ProsA quality well made carrier for soft body armor and light weight plates made of PE. I use level 3a armor in-conjunction with PE level 3+ plates. A perfect set up for less weight and speed! Shoulder straps are low profile and do not interfere with rifle slings and backpack straps! With that being said, the vest straps are not padded enough for heavy ceramic or even heavier steel plates. Nothing that a good set of aftermarket shoulder pads wouldn't cure! I have the shell-back carrier made by TAG and now the Rampage carrier and both are excellent plate carriers. Right now I prefer the Rampage because of it overall low profile shoulder straps.
ConsCons - They are hard to find and that is the reason for the 4 star rating - Thank you La Police Gear!

    Excellent plate carrier
I bought this plate carrier to use in a carbine class. I mounted mag carriers, admin pounch, EMT pounch, dump pouch, camelbak, and optic pouch to it. Very comfortable, didn't interfere with anything, and carried what I needed carried. Haven't run it with plates yet. Would highly recommend this to others.
ProsMany, but include: - Low profile shoulder straps - while they aren't padded which may affect comfort when fully loaded, they also do not interfere with shouldering a rifle and do not get hung up on slings. This was a big decision factor for me. - Relatively thin and fitted - allowed me to run a pistol and mag on my belt rather than needing a drop leg platform. - Removable side armor pouches - Relatively light weight - Built in cooling mesh - stayed comfortable even on a hotter or more humid day - Easy to put on with front velcro panel - Very adjustable for proper fit - Looks great. While it is multicam, there are a number of coyote accents (shoulder straps) so you can use coyote accessories if pounches you want are not available in multicam (or you already have coyote stuff).
ConsMinor, but include - Mounting on the back panel around the cumberbund led to some fit issues unless I threaded through Molle on both - There are plate carriers with more molle than this one - The shoulder straps have a limited range of adjustment for keeping the PC higher on your chest - The shoulder straps do not incorporate any attachments or loops for threading a camelbak hydration tube forward. You can rig it up ok, but some have purpose built straps - A bit harder to put on and take off with mags in - harder to fold up the front velcro panel (takes some practice)

I have IIIA ballistic panels and wondered if they would fit in this vest. The front is a 2014 size and the back is a 1414 size. They are PACA panels.

I submitted your inquiry to Tactical Assault Gear and their response was that your armor will not fit in the Rampage Armor Carrier. The largest width that the carrier will accommodate is 11 inches.

I inquired through our Representative at TAG about this and this was their response "The inner plate pocket for the hard plates on the Rampage should accommodate a longer plate but not the wider plate." I hope that helps!

Does this plate carrier have a split front opening flap like your item description OR does it have a single front opening flap like the pictures you have posted for the plate carrier?
    1 Answers
It has a Single flap on the front covering the split opening. So you would have to first lift the front flap then you can open one or both sides to get into and out of the carrier.

I would like to know what the actual vest measurement is. not for the plates but for the VEST itself. im interested in buying this but want to be certain that my soft body armor will also fit inside.

It's 11.5" wide straight down to 14.5" in length by .75" thickness. I wear AR500 steel plates with .25" backers and still have .25" to.50" to spare. Hope this helps.

are the buckles on the shoulders on the front or the back? i am concerned that they will hit the butt stock of the rifle
    3 Answers
This item does not feature buckles but uses velcro to adjust the shoulder straps for height so you would not have any buckles to interfere with shooting a weapon.

There are no buckles - only velcro attachments. That is one of the advantages of this plate carrier. I have found that it does not interfere with the buttstock of a rifle.

It has a mesh interior lining that increases breathability and channels some heat away. It does not have cooling channels like some other plate carriers.

    Could a 11 1/2 x 14 plate be stuffed into this?
    1 Answers
A 14" x 11.5" plate will not fit in this plate carrier. Since the carrier gets a little less wide towards the top, the extra half inch will not fit.
