Description
The E2D LED Defender® Ultra is a compact 500-lumen flashlight featuring dual-output capability and self-defense enhancements. Utilizing a virtually indestructible high-performance LED and a Total Internal Reflection (TIR) lens, the E2DL Ultra is activated with a pushbutton tailcap click switch that also selects output levels: press or click once for a high-intensity 500-lumen white-light beam—ten times the light needed to overwhelm the night-adapted vision of an aggressor. Return to off and press or click again within two seconds for a 5-lumen ultra-long runtime low beam that's suitable for navigating at night or performing close-up tasks for hours. The Defender's crenellated Strike Bezel® provides further defensive options should the need arise. Slender and powerful, the E2DL Ultra is an ideal everyday-carry light.

Features:

  • Virtually indestructible LED emitter regulated to maximize output and runtime
  • Two output levels—500 lumens high for maximum light, 5 lumens low for extended runtime
  • TIR lens produces tight beam with enough surround light for peripheral vision
  • Strike Bezel® provides personal defense option
  • Coated tempered window resists impact, maximizes light
  • Dual-output tailcap click switch—press for momentary-on high, click for constant-on high, return to off then press or click again to select low
  • Fits our V91 holster in the head-up position.
  • High-strength aerospace aluminum body, Mil-Spec hard-anodized for extreme durability
  • Weatherproof O-ring and gasket sealing
  • Includes high-energy 123A batteries with 10-year shelf life

    Sweet self defense light
I bought the older brother to this light many decades ago, still works but not bright and not LED. This one is larger and fits great in the hand. The edges are sharp and will put major damage on the attacker. Light is bright and button works well. So far so good.

    great light
carry this everyday both on patrol and in plain clothes. Love the fact that the tail cap does not turn the light on when in you pocket. loved the dual clip for my uniform cargo pants. The high low setting are great as well. Great light for what I need
Pros- bright - tough - great impact weapon - no fancy buttons or modes - does not activate in your pocket
Cons- if any thing its just a little long, but i chose that for the brightness and strike bezel

    Perfect All Around Light
I have several Surefire flashlight but this is my go to one. I prefer the self defender tip and end piece. The more functions that my flashlight has, the better. This give me more choices to handle more circumstances that I may be in. The 500 lumens is perfect as a temporary blind from an offender and the tactical end pieces allows me to use it in a close up situation. I can take it any where because its a flashlight and not considered as a weapon but I may use it to defend. I like the low light setting, which allows me to use it to read a map or something up close. The belt clip is strong enough for me. I've used this flashlight by standing it on its bottom while I worked on something. LA gear has it for a great price, so I bought two of them. I keep one in my car and one at home. Its water proof to 1 meters, which I think is a must have for any light. Its tough, durable casing makes sure it will handle any environment you take it in. I think this is the best all around flashlight out there.

265 dollar flashlight with a 25 cent pocket clip !
the pocket clip is part of the flashlight ,surefire makes a great flashlight ,so why don't they think about supplying a stronger ,better pocket clip ? I didnt buy this flashlight to be constantly replacing pocket clips.there is NO excuse for the poor quality of the pocket clip.PERIOD.they can design an extraordinary flash light ,so why don't they take the time to design a better clip while they're at it?

    Ultimate EDC
Excellent light. Noticeably, usefully brighter at distance than the E2D, despite having a wider illumination cone. Typical Surefire build quality and durability, bomb-proof. New long, bidirectional pocket clip is not as sturdy as the E2D's short clip, but is sufficiently robust and allows head-down carry. Head is slightly larger than E2D (as on the Fury), but has the classic E2D anodized shell with strike bezel. Very strong. Overall an excellent advancement of the best every-day carry light available. An easy choice at less than $200.

I replaced the batteries, then the flashlight has a low power and a strobe. How do I turn off the strobe and get my high power back?
    1 Answers
Need a fresh pair of new batteries! If that does not work maybe new bulb! Same thing happened to my light as well, had low light and strobe. Threw in a pair of "new" surefire batteries and was back up and running!

What is the throw of this light and does it have a tight beam?
    1 Answers
unfortunately the manufacture was not able to provide us with an exact measurement because they stated that the throw of the light can be affected based on weather conditions, battery life and many other aspects but they said the light can be seen from a very far distance away and should met what ever needs you throw at it.

This flashlights clip can be taken off by disassembling the light. The clip is also replaceable if bent or broken. There is a video on YouTube showing how to do this. I hope this helps.
