Top Notch Light
The supplied battery is pretty close to its rated hours. in addition to the other batteries listed it can operate on a 20700 battery. I tried the iJoy 20700 rated at 11.10 Wh where the stock battery part # 74175 is only rated at 7.92 Wh. The holster could be better but that's easily changed
ProsSolid construction, reliable gear

Washed over with light
Simple to use, the white light is bright and the switch functions very well.
ProsThis is a great tool. Holds a charge well. Nice white light. The beam spread is fixed, a great flood light to illuminate a wide area.
ConsLight beam isn't adjustable.

The convenience of charging with usb or plugin is awesome! Holder that comes with it will suffice but for any long term use get a better holder. Good flashlight for the CDCR career.
ProsBright Lightweight compact

Streamlight ProTac HL USB Rechargeable Flashlight
Great light for patrol. It's size is perfect for one hand operation and fits comfortably in a sap or cargo pocket. the High, Med, Low and Strobe modes make it a versatile light for multiple situations. A single charge lasts longer than other rechargeable lights and charges quickly, offering several options for charging. The USB charger is very convenient.
ProsGreat all around light.

How long till full charge?
Depends on usage. On graveyards (when I tend to use my flashlight a lot more), it gets me a couple weeks or so. Otherwise, I would say up to a month (assuming 40 hour work weeks). It has died on me a couple times at work, but I have a cigarette USB charger, so I just charge it up on that for an hour or so and it will give me enough to last the rest of shift. Hope that answers your question.

It usually takes about 6-7 hours if I drain it completely. I usually charge it once a month for 4 hours.

Does this charge at 1.0 amp or 2.0 amps? What chargers come with it?
The base unit does not include a charger but comes with a USB cord. I have used both a 1 amp and 2 amp charger designed for USB Li charging by other manufactures. They both have worked well. The 1 amp requires more time to fully charge the ProTac HL.

The charger option lists USB, AC, DC for an addition 12.95. However in the description of the flashlight, no where does it mention a DC recharge option?
I had this pulled from our warehouse to check it out and it does indeed come with the port that you can stick into your DC adapter in your car. It's basically a plug with the USB connection on the opposite side.

I buy these multi-intensity flashlights every year at local stores (probably made in China like this one). Within a year, the switch is broken (I have several in my glove box right now). What are the specific terms of the warranty? If the switch stops working properly, will you replace the item, and if so, will you continue to replace it every time the switch stops working?
If you are within a year of purchasing with us, than we can definitely exchange this out for you if it is defective. The manufacturer has their own warranty with these, and if it's beyond a year than you would have to contact them with your proof of purchase. Here's their warranty terms - http://www.streamlight.com/support/ <= If you purchased your streamlight product and still have the receipt, i recommend contacting them because they should replace your switch up to 2 yrs.

I have several Tactical lights and the Streamlight HL is by no means a cheaply made chinese clone. This flashlight is a well made heavy duty flashlight. I can compare the quality to a Surefire. I have two Streamlights, the HL and the ProTac-1L and I have used them for years in rough conditions, hunting and camping in the Florida Everglades without a failure from neither one. Buy it, it's worth it.
