This is an outstanding light, it is amazingly bright not only for its size but period, I live in the mountains where it is extremely dark at nigt due to the fact that we are not truly affected by the city lights as we are a mile up in elevation. I work often at night and it is nice to have my ProTac HL with me as it turns night back into day, every one who sees it ask me what it is and where theyy can get theirs and I steer them to LA POLICE GEAR, GREAT product..GREAT company, from now on I will purchase my equipment from LA POLICE GEAR !

    Fantastic Light
I love this little light. It's compact so it fits well on my already cluttered duty belt. I'm a small guy so space is important as you know. I have put this thing through the wringer and it performs flawlessly. I don't even know how many times its been dropped, used as an impact tool or just flat out covered in water and it keeps throwing light. long enough to hold under an arm on a traffic stop but small enough to slip into a pocket for off duty carry if need be.

    Best Light
I own other Streamlight lights, but this one is my favorite and IMO the best of the breed. Although retired, I do part-time private security work in an industrial/plant setting and it is perfect for my needs.
ProsGreat illumination, compact easy to carry.
ConsI find the optional controls (strobe, lower level) a bit hard to use.

    Great Little Flashlight!
This is the first little LED flashlight I have owned, and I have to say I am very impressed with it. It is very bright, it fits very well in my hand, and it is tough too. I have already inadvertently dropped it a couple of times from more than one meter high, and it continues to work fine. I am looking forward to buying a couple more of these flashlights for my cars and for around the house. This one is being mounted to my home defense shotgun now that I am done playing with it. So, if you are looking for a good bright compact LED flashlight, I highly recommend this Streamlight ProTac HL 750 Tactical flashlight! It has a reasonable price as well. I gave it four stars because I rarely give out a perfect best score; everything can be improved one way or another, (e.g. lower pricing, or adding features for the same price, etc.).

Is the light round or square on the distance
    8 Answers
    Round, just like the barrel
    on April 24, 2017
    from FL
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that question, but I assume you are wondering if the light is shined at a distant object is the shape of the beam on that object round or square. The shape of the beam on a distant object is round. Although the LED itself is square, it is centered in a reflector that is the shape of a round cone. Therefore the light beam is round.
    on April 24, 2017
    from Grangeville, ID
I never noticed the beam pattern as being square. The brightest spot is round. There is a significant amount of light so I would need to shine it at a pretty large wall to see what the actual beam pattern was. (unless I was close of course!) Due to the fact that the lens is round and there is no "pattern" formed into the lens as in an automobile headlight, I would be surprised to see anything other than a round pattern.
    on April 24, 2017
    from Spokane Vly, WA
This light is round at distance with a good flood pattern. Better than any of my surefire lights. This is my favorite tac light not just in throw, but power and compactness. Also with the program mode I lock in on the single high beam only and it has never failed. If you need 1* tac light to depend your and your partners lives on, this is it!

This is a real flashlight. It isn't like the ones with the convex magnifier lens. Streamlights are squared away. Most of my various lamps are SL's. You can't go wrong.

That's pretty common with most LED flashlights when you leave it on the high setting. It only has 1.25 hr life when left on high. Which, depending on how much you use the flashlight, can be used up rather quickly.

The belt clip can be removed with little force. It is just a spring like clip that wraps around 3/4 of the light. It has the same type of clip on the smaller Protac EMS that i have and i was able to take it off when i wanted or turn it around and put it on my hat bill. As for the lens I'm not sure but i keep it in my pocket and i have been lucky enough not to hit it on any thing at the fire station or home. The short time that I have had the ProTac HL I really like it.

Yes the belt clip can be removed by unscrewing the end cap and pulling it off. I bought this and put it on my rifle using a Fenix light ring and a streamlight vertical forgrip. The streamlight grip has its own rail so you cam mount the light lower for easier activation. The whole assembly is aluminum and lighter than my old vertical forgrip/weapon light combo. As for the lens I can't say I haven't dropped the light or hit anything with it yet but the lens on the streamlight TLR on my pistol has been quite rugged so I would expect this one to stand up just as well.
