    great vest
had been wanting a TAG vest for a while. did a l(very) ittle shopping around and found this one on closeout. sounded like a really good price. UNTIL I went to the TACTICAL ASSAULT GEAR website and found it $51 cheaper....after i had made my purchase from here. Still a really great vest hough. Some minor strap adjustments and this fits and is more comfortable than my vest i wear on duty. I havent got plates in it yet, just soft armor. I'm guessing the fir wont change with the plates...just the weight of the vest.
    Prosgreat fit. easy adjustments

    Practicality Review
I have had this carrier for about a month now and thus far, I love it. The drag handle is extremely durable as is all the stiching. There is plenty of real-estate for your molle gear and the fit is snug and comfortable due to the adjustable belly-band. By not using the heaviest material, Shellback/TAG has managed to create a weight-minded carrier that won't wear you out yet still provides the size necessary to haul your gear AND large plates. The inside has netting that I think is supposed to be some sort of air-circulating system but because all plate carriers will leave you sweating after even mild exertion, this netting seems somewhat unnecessary. All in all, this is a great carrier that I would buy again and definately beats most other carriers for price whilst doing the same thing. And the best thing; made in the U.S.A.!
ProsRugged, great warranty, made in America! Comes on and off easily.
ConsNetting inside will probably pick up leaves, brush etc with heavy use. Won't affect performance though.

    Great Carrier
Just received this carrier, and its awesome. Its comfortable, plenty of room for gear, and unlike what the faq's say, you CAN put your soft armor inside this carrier. My second chance soft armor fit inside just fine. There are separate compartments for 10 x 12 rifle plates. great carrier.

I bought this in coyote to make a comparison to the banshee I had bought the year before. Hands down the Combat Aggresor is a better carrier for me. Im so grateful that I made this purchase. Im not a small fry and the banshee tends to be too short for me. This carrier corrects the "short comings" of the Banshee. Don't get me wrong, The Banshee is good, but the Aggressor is better. I would primarily rate these carriers on functional fit. TAG doesnt make slack gear, so quality is rarely an issue. In my opinion the banshee should be used for smaller to medium framed people and items like the aggressor work better for us big 'uns. I hope this helps

Great if it was in stock
I have a black one, its one of my favorite vests. Tough, well made and comfortable. My gripe is that the tan one has been on back order for well over 3 months. I ordered one and waited...and waited...and waited. Eventually cancelled the order.

    Great carrier, but. . .
The quality of the carrier is great, seams rugged enough but still fairly light weight. My chief complaint is the color configuration of the Ranger Green carrier. I assumed the entire carrier would be green like the example in coyote. In reality the top half of the inside (the part touching your body) is black felt, I assume to be more comfortabe, but detracts from the look of the carrier. Also the buckles are black. How hard would it have been to find a similiar color for those two items.

    Awesome armor carrier
This is one of the best carriers around. We have tested many other types but this one fits exactly what we needed, has ample room for all of our gear due to full molle on front and rear, and was obviously designed by folks who do this job everyday. Great product.

The small/medium size will probably suit you best. There is a gentleman that is 5'11" and 200lbs and claimed that this size fit them perfectly, so i'm sure you will need that size as well, but you will probably need to adjust the straps a bit.

At this time this item is not available in the coyote. We've had an issue with our supplier of this item and we are now going to be working directly with the manufacturer for all of their products. Here's a link to a black one that we still have - I'm not sure if we will get the Tactical Aggressor Vests again, but they still have the Banshee plate carriers available.

No, this is just the carrier and any ballistic protection such as soft armor or hard armor would have to be purchased separately and you would need to install those yourself.

I contacted Shellback regarding this and they didn't know off-hand what knife that was. It looks like a Becker KA-Bar knife to me, but the picture is a few years old, so it could be a model that is no longer available. Here's something similar to that - Here's a link to the different Becker KA-Bar Knives we sell - I know it's not the exact answer to your question, but I hope that helps!

I imagine it will. We use our as plate carriers for patrol. They hold XL plates (11X14). Our INV uses them as carriers. They work well but don't expect a perfect fit. The vast majority of our department uses the S/M ones. The L/XL are way to big for most!

This carrier is apron cut, the dimensions are 16 inches from neck line to bottom and 12 inches across the chest the apron is 8 inches top to bottom and 22 inches across so if your soft armor is within these measurements it will fit , the back is the same dimensions also. The internal plate pocket is adjustable for various sizes up to 10x12 as well.

I returned mine after buying a L/Xl because it was too big for me and I am 5'10" 180 lbs and wear a 44 Regular jacket if this helps. I ended up with a Condor in a Sm/ Med and it fit great. The Shellback appeared to be built quite well too but was just too big in that size. The Condor I bought also came in Multicam and had the quick detach emergency option.

I am also a size 46" chest. Our department has both the S/M and L/XL sizes. I prefer the S/M. It sits a little higher allowing me access the items on my duty belt. Our department uses them as "go vests". They are all outfitted with front and rear SAPIs (rifle plates), which means they go over our soft body armor. I would go S/M.

Does this carrier accept soft armor panels (like in standard soft body armor), in addition to the hard plate panel?
    1 Answers
The aggressor armor carrier does take both hard and soft armor. We purchased 25. 10 were issued to patrol with front and rear 11"X14" SAPIs. They were tight but did fit in both the S/M and L/XL carriers. The other 15 were issued to investigations. Most were able to fit their soft body armor into the both size carriers as well. The carriers are obviously not custom fit so they were not a perfect match. The carriers did not work well on one very large officer and one very small. They simply used the carrier as a load bearing vest and wore it over their soft body armor.

This Shellback Combat Aggressor will not accommodate side plates and there is no MOLLE to attach side plate carriers. As for sizing, Shellback Tactical has informed us that they do not have a size chart but they said a SM/M will fit most people due to the adjustable shoulders and cumberbun.
