The looks are great, but the quality is not. These boots squeaked so bad I had the tongues replaced with alcantara (cheap leather rubbing directly on cheap leather is a recipe for squeaking). This is not a misprint----I literally had to replace the tongues to even make them wearable in an office environment. So, add $50 to the purchase price and I now have a great looking pair of boots that do not squeak----but still suck. The earlier models were made in the USA and were the best boots on the market for their purpose. These are simply a cheap clone with the same name.
ProsLooks are outstanding.
ConsTongue squeaks from cheap leather rubbing on cheap leather. Lack of traction (poor in wet).

I'll give them three stars but they are more like 2.5. They look great and polish very easily. That said they just are not comfortable. It may just be my foot but I had the misfortune to stand attention/parade rest for a memorial service that lasted about an hour about two weeks after getting them (I wore them daily for those two weeks, so they were "broken in"). My feet were not just tired, they were hurting for a couple of days afterward. The soles just feel hard, and I tried to remedy with some insoles. I found the factory insoles have some kind of plug at the heel that goes down into the heel, making it necessary to leave them in. I put the new insoles on top of the factory ones and it just made them too tight and even more uncomfortable. They are tolerable for normal wear (I'm doing bailiff as my retirement job) but I am going to go back to duty boots just for the comfort. I never had a problem with the Rocky Eliminators , but am having trouble finding the uninsulated ones. Probably gonna go back to Danners.

I have worn many shoes/boots and these are by far the worst. Breaking these shoes in was a nightmare. My feet were numb and raw for a period of time. The soles are now smooth on mine because they lack any great traction. Obviously a low bid and a cheap shoe for a large department to purchase. Its sad to think a department would issue their Officers these shoes to wear on a daily basis.
