I require an extra wide shoe (4E). These shoes advertise a wide size. My question is just how wide are they? Will they fit my foot or will they be too narrow?

These would be a standard width wide at a E width. they would not be wide enough for you.

how to convert men size to womens?

the normal rule of thumb is to drop the size by two from women's to mens for example if you where an size 8 in women's then you are most likely around a size 6 in mens. this is not a 100% accurate though but just a good starting point to get you in the right area as some people may vary by half a size.
