Description

Tactical Lights:

Pelican’s tactical lights are field ready and built to withstand the hard knocks that come with the job. Intense, focused beams provides downrange visability and peripheral lighting aids in situational awareness.

Collaborated Effort:

In a rare collaboration between public and private sectors, the City of Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has partnered with Pelican Products to develop the Pelican 7060 LED as the standard issue tactical/patrol flashlight for all its officers.

The Pelican 7060 LED light employs a revolutionary dual switch technology that allows the light to be activated by either a body-mounted patrol switch or a tail-mounted tactical switch. The dual switches, which include a momentary mode and high/strobe/medium/low beams, allows the user to grip the light in several positions and still control activation. In addition, the 7060 is self programmable. This allows the individual user to custom tailor the various modes to their liking. The light incorporates a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery for maximum brightness and is also lightweight compared to standard batteries.

    Great light!!!!!!!!!
Bought my first 7060 in 2009 for work, been using them since. Had switch wear out in first one in 2016, pelican completely rebuilt whole light with new gen parts and brighter light, all in 2 weeks. Great company that stands behind product. Now own 3 of these. 2 for nightshift at work, and 1 at home. Never had the battery run completely down, even on nightshift. Super tough, have beat this light since day one. Highly recommend and would buy another.

    Overall Outstanding Light
A fantastic duty light or outdoors light. It features four total modes, Hi, Strobe, Med, and Lo with two different buttons that are easy to use for any situation. The body is a lightweight rigid plastic material with strong grip, so it's lightweight, yet durable (I've dropped them on asphalt and concrete and still work perfectly), and charges quickly. Diameter is about 1.25" and there aren't any tactical holsters for this however.
ProsLightweight Durable Bright Various light settings Newest model (402 lumens) Fast charging Long range beam Good grip
    ConsNo tactical holsters

    Hard to beat
I spent a lot of time researching belt sized flashlights so hopefully I can save you some time. I'm using it for LE, but will no doubt have other applications. I don't think I can link it in a review, but there is a video on youtube by TacticalImpulse that reviews the top lights in this category. The review is very well done and surprisingly unbiased considering they're competing with these lights. They make one of the lights (which is a slick setup) but it's definitely more spendy and the battery life doesn't compete with the 7060. The 7060 battery life and consistent brightness after it's initial bit of use make it a clear front runner. It's not the crazy 1000 lumen brightness, but it's plenty bright for all the flashlight work I can think of - guys in more rural areas may opt for the 8060 or one of the super high lumens lights if you have a bunch of distance to cover. The size, charge time, battery life, dual switch, and hexagon shape (no rolling) made this my patrol light pick. On another note for guys looking for holsters, a company called Forcetech makes the best one I can find - I'm a little bummed LAPG doesn't carry a similar one. Good retention and functionality.
ProsBattery Size/weight Dual switch Brightness Price for the quality you get Charging is fast
ConsIf I have to be nitpicky: A spare battery would be very nice. A good holster was a pain to find. The ability to focus the beam would be a nice perk.

great light for day and night shift
This light works great. It is super bright and just the right size to fit in a sap pocket. It is also not too big to use on dayshift

    So far so good
We walk the dogs at night so a good flashlight is a must. We've been through two cheaper flashlights that both quit working after a couple of months. After talking to some Law Enforcement friends they suggested to try what they use when they are on duty which is this flashlight. WOW, you definitely get what you pay for. So far this light is far superior then any other flashlight I've owned. It being rechargeable is a big plus also.

    Great Flashlight.
I'm very happy with LAPG's current batch of 7060"s. They have been upgraded to 402 Lumens on high for a run time of 3hr. 30 min. with a beam distance of 210m. Can't complain. Great duty light.

    Best duty flashlight
This is the best flashlight I've ever owned and used. I had a rechargeable Streamlight, it would die quickly and wouldn't keep a charge. This one keeps it's charge for a long time and is bright. It will give you full power until the last ounce of power in the battery is gone. So good I got two of them.

    Sent a used flashlight.
Great light. Perfect size for holding under arm or in hand. Only problem I had was I received a used light. Likely only lightly used, but used. I was desperate for a light for work and elected noto to go through exchange process. I just hope my investment doesn't fail me. I kinda feel LAPolicegear.com stuck it to me a little. I needed them more than they needed me. Product is working and highly recommend the Pelican 7060, just get a new one!

I bought one and it came with a charger. I'm a long-time flashlight aficionado, having used and hoarded flashlights going back to the days when Mag-lite was king. The Pelican 7060 is an awesome light, which has supplanted all of the other lights I've purchased over the years. I keep one in my vehicle, and another in the kitchen to grab when I head out the door. It throws a big, fat, heavy wall of light in additional to excellent throw. Its lightweight and durable, with a long runtime. Highly recommended for anyone who likes to see in the dark.

How many inches is the 7060 pelican flashlight?? Is it the smaller version of the 8060 pelican flashlight?? What is the difference between the two flashlights??
    4 Answers
The 7060 is approx 8.6" long, and the 8060 is approx 13". I believe the 8060 boasts like 800+ lumens while the 7060 puts out in the neighborhood of 360. I've never used the 8060, but have heard State Patrol likes to use that one. I'm a Deputy Sheriff and I carry the 7060 as my primary light. It puts out enough light to make open area searches (fields, outdoors in general, warehouses) highly visible. And yet it's not overpoweringly bright for indoor use (houses, buildings, vehicle searches). I've owned and tried a lot of top end lights. And have found it hard to beat the good balance this light has. Bright enough to light up the night and yet not so much that it blinds you during close up use. Battery life is also quite impressive. I used the light for 2 weeks straight on duty and still managed to pull three full hours of continuous use out of it afterwards before needing to be recharged. Well worth the investment!

Yes, the light snaps into the base firmly, you could easily mount the base to the wall or to your car. It has two mounting holes in it. BTW, I have purchased 12 of these flashlights over the years. I keep finding more locations to put them. Obviously I like them.

The wall charger serves as a cradle that holds and charges the flashlight. You can mount the charger on the wall or simply place it on the countertop. The back of the flashlight has a groove that matches up to the charging base to ensure positive charging contact is made. I have attached photos to clarify these statement.

It does look like you'll have to partially depress to switch through the modes and fully depress to select the mode you would like to use - -Momentary - Fully depress either switch, to lock in selected mode -Constant On - Fully Depress either switch to lock in the selected mode -Mode Selection - Partially depress either switch within .5 second increments to select one of the four available modes. The sequence is High/Strobe/Medium/Low. Fully depress the switch to lock in a selected mode.

Will a brand design a holder so the light can go down into the holder so the handle is exposed? It allows for quick access by drawing the light from the handle. I have not found any holder to accomplish this.
