Very happy with this light. Works as advertised, fits in a calf pocket and can be easily charged up between calls. Nice job. Btw, great price too.

    Great light!
I work night shift for a county in the middle of nowhere. We were given the Maglite Tac lights that are rechargeable, the first foot pursuit I got in the flashlight died halfway through and I had to resort to the small light I carry as a back up. Needless to say I ordered a Different Light quick. I have absolutely no regrets about ordering this light. It is ready to go anytime I need it and has survived in the condition I have put it in. I just pulled it out of a snowbank that it got lost in last night and it still works fine. My only regret is that I didn't get pictures for proof that this review is legit.
ConsThe clip to attach it to the clothing is a little awkward but I have rearranged my duty belt to make it work

    Great tactical duty light
Great light, very powerful, long lasting battery life and great illumination. The pouch fits my duty belt very well too. I use this light on a Bailey basis and I am very satisfied and happy with the purchase. I replaced my standard Recon with this rechargeable version and just love it.

Great light for a great price.
Nice size, a bit larger than I'd hoped but solid construction. No momentary light, just on and off button. Turns on to bright, then just slightly press the button to cycle through the other settings - low, moonlight, strobe. Works well, very bright. Rechargeable battery is easy to charge without taking it out of the light.
ProsBright, not too heavy. Light settings are easy to cycle through. Charging is easy to do, just unscrew the end cap and plug in your microcusb cable.
ConsNo momentary on. If you don't want to blink someone with the high setting you have to aim the light at the ground/leg/elsewhere to cycle through the settings.

    Great light so far
I recently received this flashlight and carry it as my back-up light. I like the brightness and the fact it is a USB rechargeable light and you can't beat the price. Seems durable and well made. these are just my initial views without having the time to yet put it through any significant tests. I have faith in the LAPG products and I believe this will be no different and come through with shining colors.
    ProsSize, solid feel, and PRICE
ConsNothing to mention at this time.

    LAPG Recon Rechargeable Flashlight
This is a very bright light that seems rugged enough for patrol duty. Being able to charge it via a USB cable is a very handy feature for those of us out on the road.
ProsLight is very bright and so far has good run time.
ConsI wish the brightness level was selectable instead of having to cycle through all the brightness/strobe options and wish the light had a momentary option.

Will the light accept and charge third party button top 18650 batteries? The battery pictured appears to be a flat top 18650 battery,
    1 Answers
While the tail cap battery spring is very firm, it appears to have enough travel to accept a button top 18650 battery. I don't know for certain because I've never tried it. Bear in mind the unit has two tail springs, one in the removable cap that exposes the charge port and charging/charged light (Red/Green), and another spring inside the charging port/LED assembly that makes contact with the negative connection on the battery. The spring that is extra firm is the one that actually makes contact with the battery and that internal assembly is out of necessity made of non-conductive material (non-metal), so you may wish to try button top batteries using the appropriate level of caution.

Does this have a momentary on function and do you have to cycle through all the levels of brightness to turn the light off?
    2 Answers
It does not have a momentary on function. When the switch is flipped it's on for good until you toggle it off. As you toggle on and off it goes to the lower lumen settings and finally to the strobe on the fourth click. You do not have to cycle through every brightness setting to shut if off. One click on...one click off.
