Hazard 4 Blood Type Lacer 2-Pack

MSRP: $8.99
The wise front-line soldier's practice of field-marking one's blood-group on the boot-heel (typically with duct-tape and felt-marker,) inspired this Hazard 4® exclusive blood-type plaque. The 3-d injection-moulded rubber marker is far more durable than the traditional solution since it cannot be wiped off, scratched-off, or dissolved by most solvents. A more professional choice for a unit or individual operator in its appearance, it more importantly prevents mis-reading (imagine B+ becoming B- after some trail-wear.) The form-factor allows multiple fast-mounting methods. In keeping with the on-boot tradition, weave them into boot laces, either horizontally, vertically or diagonally (slotted holes allow for different lace-hole spacings.) Wear them like/with dog-tags (i.d. medallions) or on a lanyard around the neck. Use paracord to make them into a bracelet. Sew them onto clothing/gear or hook and loop™ backing using the perimiter trench. Or clip them anywhere since they are sold with a durable aluminum black carabiner. They come in sets of two on one clip in a variety of subdued colors and feature a raised guioche pattern in the background to break up mud/ice. Then can even be screwed, rivetted, grommeted, or nailed onto hard surfaces such as plastic cases, wooden crates etc. to mark personal gear or paramedic's blood supply. Also available in glow-in-the-dark. Specify blood-type when buying.

Good to have in an emergency
Good quality PVC. I have Blauer brand boots with the BOA system so I zip tied these to the eyelets of the outside of each of my boots. They are holding up well. Good to have in case of an emergency and you are unable to speak with responding medical personnel.
ProsHigh quality Sized so that there are many options for attaching

    Handy blood tag
This handy blood type tag is great, unfortunately it does not fit across one's boot but up the lacing. I have mine on my camera bag and pack

    inconsistant glow
I purchased 3 types of the glow in the dark finish and they did not charge well for low light conditions. Very little light output from one set. I returned them for exchange and the new set was equally faulty. Must be a bad lot. I've decided it's no longer worth my time and effort to ask LAPG to replace them again. ...Working with what I've got. Buyer beware.

    Everyone Needs These
Great product. Everyone should have at least 2 sets of these. One laced in to you shoes, and the other attached to your upper body Or gear. Come with mini carabiners.

    Good quality Bad size
very nice quality and design. but major flaw for me was I could never get them to sit nice or flush on my shoes, unless your a size 14+ you'l have to thread it sideways up the shoe
Prosnice quality, great clarity and very durable and easy to read
Consjust to long/large to use on most shoes (my multi size 12 shoes at least)

    Poorly designed for boots
I purchased the Hazard4 Blood Type Lacer 2-Pack in coyote/tan to put on my boots. Unfortunately, these tags do not fit across the toes as pictured, the distance between the holes on these tags is too great (Size 10.5W boots) requiring 2.75" (7cm) to mount as shown. On a normal combat boot, this tag will pucker into a U shape and flop around. Mounting the tag four holes higher seems to work, but this location is at the top of your instep/bottom of your ankle, which is concealed due to your pant leg. Mounting one of these tags up the edge of the boot works, although there is nothing to keep the tag from flipping over to the opposite (blank) side, unless these mounted as a pair back-to-back. I also purchased a set of these blood tags in glow-in-the-dark color. I found the glow very weak, and could have benefited from some type of reflective accents to make them more noticeable. I was intending on using these on a motorcycle jacket as zipper pulls. They function well as zipper pulls with the included carabiner. I will definitely return the glow color, and will likely return the tan/coyote color as well. Using a velcro-backed blood tape with shoe glue is probably a more functional choice.
ProsQuality PVC patch/tag. Expect a long life span. Use with included carabiner as a zipper pull works great.
ConsPoorly designed for boot use. No velcro backing. Printing only on one side. Glow-in-the-Dark is very weak. Comes with only one mini-carabiner per two-pack. Expensive.
