We are in the serious business of creating high quality tactical accessories for professional use, but we think it is important to have some fun, so our new products team thought it would be great to bring this unique claymore mine hitch cover to the market place.

We know it will get a second look from the tailgaters in your community, but what the heck, you only go around one time. Our Replica Claymore Hitch Cover is closely patterned after the original. It is virtually the same size and is manufactured from solid polypropylene with UV additives for durability and color fastness and fits 2" standard receivers. The connectors and internal space are solid so there is no chance that it can be confused as a real Claymore mine. We do however strongly advise you to install a hitch pin lock or it may just disappear. Go Ahead Have Some Fun, But Read The Important Legal Disclosure !!!

Hard to find item - very pleased
This novelty hitch cover was a gift for a friend. He served in the Marine Corps for 13 years as an officer. When the twin towers went down, he enlisted in the National Guard at age 48 and did a deployment in the sandbox as a senior NCO. He got a big laugh when he opened his birthday present.

Does it's job, it's soft enough so if some idiot does walk into it they won't get hurt and sue you...
ConsLight-weight, allows dirt and crud into receiver.

    Hitch cover is well made.
If one knows about a Claymore, a short glance would confirm that this isn't real, but it IS a great conversation starter!

    Pure Genius!
Might have to get a "Don't Tailgate" magnetic sign to go on the back of the truck right above it. Thought about the locking hinge pin before seeing it mentioned, but got one of those years ago with the actual hitch. May even have to add a pseudo receiver for the trailer so there's a place for this when the one on the truck is busy towing...
ProsThe best hitch cover I've ever seen, ordered it on the spot!
ConsIllegal in some states - that's not a Con of this product; it's a Con of those states. Connecticut I sort of understand which is why firearms manufacturers are strongly considering pulling out, but Colorado and Florida? Come on, Patriots! Isn't it about time you threw those idiots out of office and fix the stupidity they've inflicted on you?!

is it the same size as the real claymore
    7 Answers
I bought this last Christmas for my girlfriend's truck. It's been a few years since I got out of the Army so I haven't handled a real Claymore mine in a while, but I would say that yes this replica is very close to scale if not exact. I will also note that before mounting the hitch cover, I bought a locking pin off from Amazon, as the claymore seemed like it was just cool enough to get stolen in a parking lot.

Fairly close and it does draw attention from military, ex military and law enforcement. Had several other officers ask where I got it.

Yes it is. I believe the writing may be a little larger so it's more visible. Also, the legs are molded with the body as one piece and do not open, but it's a solid construction. Hope this helps.

It is fairly close to actual size. Maybe shy a half inch not really noticeable when driving down the road.
