Gerber Prodigy Combat ComboEdge Knife

MSRP: $82.40

Description
Based on the award-winning LMF II, this smaller knife packs the same punch. The full tang 420HC American steel blade is beefy, coated with ceramic for corrosion resistance and reduced visibility. A friction lock, MOLLE compatible sheath is included.

Design cues for the new Prodigy were inspired by the award-winning LMF II, another knife engineered by Gerber's Jeff Freeman. The Prodigy is much smaller (9.75" overall length), but it certainly packs as much punch as its predecessor. The full tang, U.S. 420HC Stainless Steel blade is beefy, and coated with ceramic for improved corrosion resistance and reduced visual signature.

The ergonomic over-molded rubber handles ensures a soft, comfortable, but secure grip in all conditions. Its also MIRS compliant. Much like the knife, the sheath is designed to live up to the task with a friction-release thumb lock for security and a list of non-detection features. Noise is dampened thanks to a molded softgrip coating which, like the ballistic nylon material, is MIRS compliant. It's also MOLLE compatible and comes with a leg strap.

    Nice knife for the price
I have always liked Gerber quality and this knife is no exception. Well made and appears durable. I haven't put a beating on it yet but I would be surprised if it didn't perform well.

One of my top 2 fixed knives ever
This and my other favorite is,the SOG SEAl PUP but this one probably has the SOG beat. The quality is very noticeable. The blade thickness is very robust. The grip is,awesome, very similar to the 1911 G10 grips which are the best. The sheath it,comes with is a item they could charge $50 on its own. Its the best included sheath I've ever gotten. Has a striking tip on the back end of,the handle that will definitely do some, damage if needed
    ProsQuality, sheath. Durability
ConsI don't like the 2nd strap for the handle on the sheath just one is needed but you can just leave it unsnapped

    Great knife for the money!
I have three of these and all my in laws keep asking to borrow/keep them so I have to keep replacing them.... I also keep one on my OH CRAP duty bad for my job as a sheriff's Sgt.
    ProsNice blade, sharp, and strong.
ConsThe holster is a bit intricate but this is a COMBAT knife, not your dad's skinner,

    Fits my hand great
I am 6'4", with size "large" hands. Not giant hands, but a Glock 21 fits my hands perfectly, as do the 17, 19, and other Glocks. The grip on the Gerber Prodigy is just big enough for my hand to fit around the hilt, with the base of the hilt pressing against the base of my hand. This gives the Gerber Prodigy a good, no slip, snug feel when I grip it, which I like a lot. The other great part about the knife is the sheath, which is an absolutely essential part of any sheath knife "system". Gerber got it right with both the knife and the sheath. One other note is that this knife is robust, but not too heavy, so it's good for carrying and won't get left behind because it's too heavy.
ProsThick blade Great sheath Very well designed grip, fits my hand perfectly
ConsWish it came without the serrations.

Great knives. I've ordered this one as well as the larger size. They both attach securely to to vests. I plan on ordering at least one more.

    Gerber Prodigy Combat ComboEdge Knife
This was a great purchase for me. Could not beat the deal I got here @ LAPoliceGear on this good ole American made knife. This is a beefy blade that comes very sharp out of the box. I bought this knife as a gift for my son, wished I had bought me one too.
    ProsDurability, craftsmanship, sharp

    A Good Blade To Have
A well balanced knife that's easy to hold. Very high quality materials. This knife would be useful for a camper, a prepper/survivalist, and self defense with the right trainer. I have never owned a knife of this type before, but I like what I have seen so far.
Pros1. Quality materials and construction 2.Good feel and balance 3. Good edge 4. Good holster. 5. Looks intimidating
    ConsNone yet.
