The lightweight, streamlined design of he Daniel Defense Rail-Mount Fixed Front Sight makes it unobtrusive and snag-free. The one piece design makes it easy to install on any MIL-STD-1913 rail and it secures with a slotted fastener threaded into a self-locking stainless steel thread insert. Special attention was paid to facilitate the use of compact weapon-lights forward of the sight, such as the X300, TLR-1, etc. The concave radius on either side of the sight is a great place to rest your thumb for easy, ambidextrous activation of the light.

Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and military specification hard anodized, our Rail-Mount Fixed Front Sight is both lightweight and durable and is the perfect complement to our A1.5 Fixed Rear Sight.

    Excellent craftsmanship!
I have been around m-16/ar's for about 20 years, I have had formal military training on BRM and know how to use iron sights well enough. Still I do not consider myself anything of expert on the matter. I installed these sights and used a laser to bore sight them in (Didn't want to waste the ammo). I was shooting as dead center as I ever have and it quarter size groups with little adjustment. I am comparing to the iron sights normally available on Colt/Bushmasters though, I have had no experience with other custom sights such as these. Pricey, but as someone else on here said, "You get what you pay for".... Most of the time.
ProsGreat Sights, well built, light, easy to use.

    Best Option to Post Sight
I chose the DD fixed/removable front sight for a couple reasons. First was because I installed it on my DDM4V7. Second was because I wanted a sight installed on the rifle rail that would be as similarly solid as a fixed post A2 sight but could still be removed easily if a need arose. As a Law Enforcement Range Master and Firearms Instructor I will probably never find the real world reason to remove the sight but if it ever became damaged it would be an easy fix. Overall this is a very solid sight that I recommend to anyone looking for a front sight for their full length rail.
ProsVery solid once installed. No springs or pivot points to worry about on the front of your rifle that can break or bend and cause your rifle to be taken out of the fight. Removable so you can clean easily or replace the post with other posts available on the market.
ConsOnly con would be if you find a front sight to be annoying when viewing thru a magnified optic.
