How is the band held together? All my previous watches have come apart after some wear and tear and when the band snaps I usually don't realize it and loose the watch. Does this watch just have the thin metal pin holding the band to the watch or something more resilient?

The bands of this watch are held in by the little metal pins you are talking about.
