    Great boots
I bought these because the sale price was ridiculous. The quality of these justifies the retail price though. I wear them more than I should probably (with shorts, to kids parties, etc.) lol.
ProsHigh quality. Lightweight. SO comfortable. Durable.
ConsOnly con for me is the tan ones get a grease stain from my Landrover that's hard to get off the suede. Idk why there is oil or grease under my dash somewhere- probably because it's a Landrover.

    how can you beat this
have had the black version for some time and really like the boot. I work in the dirt so I bought a pair of the tan ones. not sure why but they are extremely comfortable and easier on and off. after a week ordered another pair. junk from big 5 cost more than $39, so if they have your size take advantage of this outrageous deal. LAPG is always me first stop

    Good deal
I've worn these 8+ hours every day the past two weeks and have no initial complaints. Fit is as expected, no blisters or issues with breaking in even with lightweight socks. Zipper stays up and laces tight all day. For the closeout price, hard to beat.

    Buying a 2nd pair
I don't even need a second pair. Have 18 pairs of other shoes and boots, none of which even gets close to providing the comfort of these. If I didn't intend to be cremated (in the distance future), I would say buy me in them. LAPoliceGear deserves a real pat on the back for providing such an excellent boot at a closeout price. Kudos to the manufacture for such a nice job.
ProsLightweight, comfortable, outstanding inserts, easy to put on and off, seem to stay cool, even helps with my bad knees. Would I recommend it to friends, indeed I already have. Thank you.

A great boot for a great price!
I've only had these boots for a couple weeks so far, but I am really enjoying them. They had a short break in time and are now one of the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. They are very light and the side zip makes it really easy to get the boot on and off. Overall I am quite satisfied with them, and it is hard to beat the price!

    Don't waste your time
They are not true to size. Got one foot in after taking laces almost completely out, and it was painful. LAPD or 5.11 are both far superior boots.
    ProsEasy return

I AM SURPRIZED THIS BOOT HAS HIGH REVIEWS.
The only reason I gave this boot 2 stars is the build quality seems OK. The worst feeling boot I have ever had. Not happy at all with these boots. 15 Years in law enforcement so I have had a good number of boots and this is my least favorite.
ProsBought on close out, so price.
ConsJust uncomfortable foot bed. They even feel bad up high in the boot. Honestly, If I went on one of my hikes, I don't think my feet would survive. I am hoping they break in.

True to size. I wear a size 13. Comfortable right out of the box. Been hiking in them with my Husky in the PA. mountains. Light weight. Definitely my "Go To" boot.

    Loops
Fits good, they are light and good support, I feel stable like wearing a good shoe, like a Salomon. The string cam-style clamp and string storage system are nice, no strings to trip on. I would ask they include a lanyard/draw string for the side zip and another loop at the front to hold the boot while putting your foot in. Otherwise I am really happy with them.
ProsVery light. Very soft secure fit, good secure string tie/great zipper. Clamp style tie and string storage pocket in tongue. Comfortable sole.
ConsNo draw string. No front pull loop.

    Fairly made
So, I have purchased half a dozen of these. Both colors. I always keep a good collection of footwear to accommodate my seasonal needs. My assortment consists of many brands both commercial and tactical, l.a.police gear has some great deals and this was one of them. I'm picky with my boots because the worst scenario is boot failure. These blackhawks fall into my casual tactical category. They were comfortable out of the box and need little break in. Plenty of support in the heel and a supporting shank makes for a stable platform. Good material and stitching as far as I can see make for a pair of boots that will live over a year. Mind you I stagger my boots to stay on top of foot hygiene and to insure a fit piece of footgear. So, after the first two pair, I bought more to keep these in my inventory. All said good boot, better construction, reputable name. Bought some for family as this was a great deal.
ProsNice profile, built well, comfortable out of the box.
ConsLacing system either works or not, I have both side zip and no zip. This system works best with side zip. But doesn't take from the boot at all.

    Defective
I wore these boots less than 1 week and the zipper on the right boot started messing up. In order to receive new boots you have to go through Bushnell and pay to have them shipped to them. I am planning on doing this buy feel this is ridiculous considering the boots cost approximately 50 dollars. Can't wait to see what shipping is going to cost and how long it will take to get boots back. Hopefully the next pair won't be defective.

I'm wearing them now with lightweight socks and my feet aren't too hot 70 degree temps. They run a little warm compared to other lightweight boot options. They are comfortable and I broke them in on concrete floors.

I have not yet received my boots but based on my research this bit is more suited to warm dry climate. Out is neither waterproof nor insulated. Weight is a primary consideration. Also, the sole id's more flexible than preferred for a hiking boot.

I have used gore Tex pants that velcro tight below the top of th boot. At this point I have not had any water issues. I have treated the lower part of the boot with water proofing to avoid any water wicking into the inners.

    5 Answers
The tread is pretty nice and I believe all of their soles are Vibram so it stays flexible in cold weather for better bite and keeping it from getting hard and becoming slippery. Of course their isn't much that can help slipping on ice and oil and sometimes water/mud but they do well. But I've never had an issue and I've had about 6 pairs of Blackhawks and in different models and just ordered 2 pairs of these boots the other day. One of my favorite brands of boots. The only ones I don't need inserts for also.

This is the same tread on the light assault boots which I have a few pairs of. The tread is great for concrete and flat surfaces and some dirt. The tread on the other boots are alot more aggressive for grass sand and mud etc. Which I have a couple pairs with that tread too. Both are great and wear well

I do not believe these boots are slip resistant per OSHA regulations, but this is my 3rd pair. I use them for tactics, mostly everyday wear, and motorcycle riding. I have a repaired ankle and these boots provide the best support so far. The tread is chunky enough that they have excellent grip and I have not once had a problem with slipping. I'm very particular about what boot I wear when on the Harley, and these were the best by far with no slippage issues. The only negative I found is that they do tend to get quite warm in the summer. Hope this helps

I also go through them often. They may clear the metal detector, but often I am asked to remove them due to the heel and sole on them...seems to happen most often when in Europe, but with the zipper, not really an issue as it takes about 10 seconds to remove them.

They are listed in Men's sizes. Here is a general Men's to Woman's size conversion. There is an approximate 1.5-size difference between men's and women's sizing. For example, a men's size 7 is roughly equivalent to a women's size 8.5. Widths, however, remain the same during conversion: if you wear a women's D width, you will also wear a men's D width.
