    poor quailty
no wonder they were on closeout...... loved them for the first three months then they completely fell apart. whole backside of right boot came undone while pulling them on for work. very disappointed. had several pairs of blackhawks and never had an issue.

    The old version was better
I bought these hoping they were as good as the older version, sadly they were not. They are more stiff and not as comfortable as the older version. I have 3 pairs of the older version of the boot, I hope they go back to those.

    Egh...so-so
The side pockets are for Ninja use only, pretty cool feature. Excellent grip in the mud or wet pavement conditions. May possibly be good for climbing trees to rescue kitty cats.
ProsFeet are warm in cold temps, and comfy/cool on the hotter days. and price, of course.
ConsTook way too long to break in. Uncomfortable fold at the inside ankle when laced up. Leaving them loose kinda helped. 5 months later...either my feet has accepted the discomfort of the booths finally gave in.

    Good quality but not comfortable
Bought these for my grandson. Quality seems to be great but he never wore them other than trying them on. Said they hurt around his ankles. Other reviews said the same thing. Maybe that's one reason they are on closeout. First time I've purchased anything from lapg that I didn't like. I'm still a loyal customer.

Blackhawk makes quality products, I am never disappointed. The overalll quality speaks for itself, they are durable and comfortable. There is a short break in period but i wouldn’t let that deter me from purchasing these boots again.

    Great boots
I was hesitant about these boots because they were discounted so heavily but for the price I figured I couldn’t go wrong. I absolutely did not go wrong because these boots are the most comfortable pair of boots I’ve owned to date. They felt stiff at first but they are breaking-in very well and will be great winter boots. The integrated tongue is great for water proofing, the inner cushioning feels great, the soles are firm but has great grip on smooth floors and pavement. The ankle pouches are a great idea and great use for a knife and spare cuff key. Highly recommend these boots and I regret not purchasing two pair at that price ($39.99) when I could have.
ProsDurable lacing Great cushion Great sole grip Integrated tongue Ankle pouches Polishable Quick break-in period

    Shame it's a closeout item
If you're lucky enough to grab these while they're still in stock, you'll make a great buy. I have always had trouble getting boots that fit okay, as my right foot is just a little less than a half-size bigger than my left. I was able to get the right size off the bat, and it fit well enough that It wasn't a problem. They've broken in quickly. I bought them for work and I've put about 40 hours into them now. No rubbing. No chaffing. No blisters. Most comfortable boots I can remember owning. I think the size difference in my feet did cause a little discomfort the first couple of days I wore them, on the inside right ankle, but even that has gone away now. They make a great boot for a night-shift guy in SWFL.

Are these waterproof or not? Can we get a definitive answer? One of the first questions listed (answered by customer service) says they are indeed waterproof yet as I scroll down I see people saying they are not waterproof. I already ordered these thinking they're waterproof.
    2 Answers
We pulled one from the warehouse to take a look and the language is a bit tricky which may be part of the confusion. From what I can find they are made with Sympatex material which is waterproof however the design of the boot can still let water in. So the material is waterproof but the design is water-resistant.

I see what you mean. The tongue gusset only goes up to about the 5th or 6th lace eyelet. So basically they're waterproof up to the ankle.

Yes, these are men's sizes. Nominally, men's sizes are 2 sizes off from women's, so a woman's 9 is a man's size 7. Women's shoes run narrow: women's shoes are normally B width, men's are normally D. These boots run ~ 1/2 size small, IME, and they're a bit on the narrow side [at least, the men's pair in W I ordered were only an E at best, instead of a 2E as they should have been.] But unless you have wide feet for a woman, you're going to need extra thick socks to keep these from rubbing at the heel, where the difference in the width of the lasts the shoes are built on is most noticeable. Extra room in the toe box is NBD, but too much room at the heel = blisters! PS - Yeah, I used to sell shoes alongside Al Bundy... ;-)

What is the "Speed Lace Toggle" that is mentioned in the description, and how does it compare to a side-zip for ease of putting on/taking off?
    2 Answers
These go on and off like regular boots. They won't be as quick as a side zip, but I prefer the tight fit of tying them each time. I've worn my first pair for two Wisconsin winters on patrol and am impressed. I just ordered 3 more pairs at the closeout price and won't regret it. $50 for quality duty boots? Can't beat that.

    on January 20, 2017

The ceramic coated eyelets allow the laces to slide open and closed more quickly than many boots with the holes punched in the uppers. Most speed laces are done via open hooks that allow for taking both laces in one hand and going side to side in order to complete the lacing of the shoe. These will not be faster than a side zip. Hope this helps D
