Very impressed with this rail! It's exactly what I was looking for to replace the stock handgaurd on my m&p 15. Very tight tolerance, as it should be. Two sets of hands makes install much easier but it's doable by yourself. A quick clamp makes putting the screws in a breeze. Not too sure why anyone would pass on this and sacrafice the benefits of something that will outlast your rifle. Had this rail, new pistol grip, and vertical front grip installed in less than 15 minutes.
    Pros:
Quality Tolerances Ability to mount countless accessories
    Cons:
One screw took an extra 30 seconds to get started

    Carbine length quad rail
    April 12, 2013
Ordered this quad rail because it looked like it would cool the barrel quickly and reduce weight. All in all a very well made product. Fit is extremely tight and does not rattle on my bushy AR carbine model. Set screws ensue that it will stay put. Noticeably lighter than the stock hand guards and a good narrow look and feel. This is not some bulky quad rail. 5 stars on ease of installation and quality. The only draw back is the side rails are not the same height as the top and bottom not everything will fit on the side rails due to their lack of height. ( not enough room from base to tip of weaver) I believe this was do e to save on width and make it look more streamline. I don't use the side rails for much any way so I can live with this and save a couple hundred dollars over the other options.

It's my experience that Blackhawk Quad Rails come in U.S./NATO military specified standards to fit carbine and rifle length barrel and with mil spec carbine and rifle length and sized gas tubes. I have used the Blackhawk carbine Quad Rails on Colt model 6920 carbines with good success. Check with the particular manufactures website or call their customer service to get more exacting information for your particular firearm. Also please note that U.S./NATO mil spec standards do not include a piston driven bolt carrier group that some AR15's have and may affect the fit of the forend handguard/rail, again check with both Blackhawk and your firearm mfg. I have e been playing with the many versions M16/M4/AR15 rifles and carbines, both military and civilian models, factory and self built, since Uncle Sam took away my M14 back in 1969. I don't think you can get a more popular, inexpensive, reliable, more accurate than you are firearm with more available accessories from more sources worldwide. Have fun! Good Luck with your build fireball

I'll check with other customers that have purchased this to see if they have any feedback on that for you. You may try contacting Blackhawk directly as well, they may have run into that with the customers that they have.

I removed all twelve screws, then installed the endpieces, and finally lined the screw holes up one-by-one and reinstalled the screws. Might need to gently use a large paperclip or similar to help with alignment. Never tighten any screws until all of them are started! Very nice fit - very solid when finished.

It is a very tight fight on my Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Sport. I had the same problem at first. It took two people to squeeze it together so I could get the holes to line up. Eventually they lined up and I got all the screws in. Once you get it on it will not come loose. I put 500 rounds through my AR and then checked the screws and they were still tight. Good luck with the alignment.

The holes were a little off on mine too, but my friend and I (who is an amateur armorer) screwed in the screw slowly. Slightly turning forward, then backward, then forward a little more. It eventually worked and the quad rail fits and looks fine. I will say that it was still annoying that a company like Blackhawk is selling parts that are not milled properly. I though about returning it, but I made it work.

what is the length on the carbine rails? Will it fit a 6.5 inch Stag?
    1 Answers
The item measures about 6.75" from end to end. 6.25" for just the picatinny rail measurement. From what information I could gather, this should fit 6.5" to 7.2" Carbines, so I do not believe you will have a fitting issue with this.

Will this fit the new Ruger AR 556?
    1 Answers
I couldn't find confirmation on that through Blackhawk's site, but I did some searching online and a few forums that I ran across listed this one as the one that would work for your particular weapon. You might want to check with Blackhawk directly in case they have some additional insight. Should fit though!

I installed this on my Smith & Wesson M&P Sport and it fit fine. There is an approximately one inch gap between the rail on the for end and the rail on the upper receiver.

will this fit colt 6920 le
    2 Answers
We have not been able to find any information regarding the fit of this forend on a Colt 6920LE. We have asked Blackhawk if they are aware of the fit but they also told us they do not know. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
    on June 17, 2013
Yes, this Blackhawk forend DOES fit on the LE6920. This is a very tight fit, no matter what, though. The ONLY issue that I had installing this was that the four small screw holes on the top and bottom do not align perfectly. I used a magnifying glass to see how much these holes were misaligned. A quick removal of the upper half and two strokes in two of the holes w/ a very small round file, I opened them. Re-installing the upper half, the screws went in and got locked down with BLUE Loctite. This is ONE NICE FOREND!!!!!!! Rock solid.
