    Old school is good.
"Newer" more "modern" designs may cost a lot more, but they don't do anything a good pair of old school BDU pants can do. The features on others pants are just things a marketing department came up with to try and convince you to spend more money. Don't.

    Very close to perfect
I've been using these pants for a few years and just ordered another set of replacement pairs. The ripstop BDUs are very nice, lightweight, comfortable, and typically durable. The exception of course is the crotch area which tends to rip in situations that require high mobility. A few notes, lapg seems to have either changed the specs or the supplier, the ripstop fabric seems a bit heavier, likely because they are a polyester/cotton blend not 100% cotton any more. Not necessarily a detraction but to be noted. The pants are still very lightweight. Much more important to me is the new logo on the right cargo pocket. It is about 0.5" to 0.75" and black with blue lettering. On my Khaki pants the logo really stands out and will likely need to be removed.
    Proslightweight comfortable durable
ConsNew logo on the right leg is unsightly Pants tend to rip at the crotch during high mobility tasks

Review of Ripstop Mil-Spec BDU pants
Just purchased these pants. Appear to be high quality materials and workmanship. Would have preferred zipper fly versus the button up fly. I'm sure time will reveal the durability of the pants but again, looks like high quality.

    High Quality
High Quality MilSpec utility trousers. I had to buy some new pairs after more than five years of daily wear. I ordered regular size and the legs are a little longer than expected.
ProsWell worth the money if they last as long as previous pairs. Great price for high quality product.
ConsThey came with an LAPG tag on the leg pockets (can't wear branded products at work).

    Good BDU pants
These are well made BDU pants. Everyone saying "they only have a button fly" and giving them a poor rating for this don't know what BDU pants are. BDU pants have buttons not zippers. If you want zippers don't buy BDUs.
ProsWell made. Great price. Good fit.

I'm a 42X34 usually, and I bought the 2X - Long. Even with IWB carry, I still have to cinch them up a little bit. The length is too long for my taste, but as I am at a desk a lot of the day I live with it. I've tried the regular length and it's too short for my preference. I would advise you get one pair in the 2X-Reg, and try them out. If you like them you can get more, and if they don't fit, LAPG has a stellar return policy.

Please for the love of all that is holy, ask the manufacturer to make these in Medium/Long! Some of us eat relatively healthy, and therefore have inseams longer than our waists! I am one of those people. I have purchased BDU pants in the past and Medium/ Long is what fits. Medium/Regular is way too short, and Large/Long makes it look like I'm wearing oversized clown pants. Please get us some of these in Medium/Long!

Yes one can shorten the pants. The only this is the draw string in the bottom hem of the legs.if you do not want the draw strings the pants can be shortened easily, but you might have to take them to an altering shop if you want to keep the strings. I never used the strings even when I was in the Army.

They are made of the same material our summer BDU's were made of in the Army. Very light and breathable, so I would say no. I wear them in South Georgia summers (85 to 105 degrees f.)

I have used these pants year-round and find them extremely comfortable. I find that they are cool in the summer months and warm in the winter. The 60/40 cotton/poly ratio is very versatile. They do not fade or shrink. I have found this material does not hold water, thus in the summer months you stay cooler and in winter you stay warmer.

NO. They are great pants but more for spring through fall....very breathable light weight fabric. We live in Michigan and hubby doesn't get cold like I do and still said there was no way he'd be able to wear them during the winter.

These are good quality pants for the price. The front slash pockets could be deeper. I wear them rough out the year, but I don't know that they would be warm enough for an extended outdoor winter temperature. They wear well and are comfortable for daily wear.

I can't really answer this question. They are for my son. 3rd time I have ordered these pants for him. He is in Southern Iraq and the temperature there gets to be 130 degrees in the shade. At night the temp drops to 35 - 40 degrees. He loves these pants! They are very comfortable. The material acts as a wind barrier for the never ending sand storms. I would say, buy one pair as I did the first time around. You will not be disappointed.

    2 Answers
General rule is to add 21 to your women's sizing to obtain your mens. That would make you roughly a 27" waist, so i believe a small regular would be best, however, you may have to get it adjusted because the length may be too long for you. Medium short might be better if your more concerned about length rather than waist. I would recommend measuring your inseam just to see where you are and making your decision from there.

The LAPG tactical pants with ripstop are okay, just watch the size, they don't run large like some others do. I have some LAPG, but I prefer the 5.11, though they cost more, I have several pair that I have worn for over 2 years on construction sites and they are still going strong. For weekend hiking the LAPG are fine, specially for the price.

How do the sizes run.. I have a 40 waist in men's pants so what size would that be
    1 Answers
According to the sizing chart, it looks like you will want to order an Extra Large which spans from 39-43" So you would determine whether to order the regular length or the long length depending on your inseam - Regular Inseam Length = 29.5-32.5" Long = 32"-35.5"

Do this include the integrated belt found on most bdus?
    1 Answers
These do have adjustable side tabs with them. I'm not sure i would consider it an integrated belt, but I guess you could call it that. If you flip through the pictures, we have a photograph of what those side tabs look like.

I have a 35 inch waist and 30 inch inseam. Do you recommend a medium-short?
    2 Answers
The Medium short will fit a 31-35 in waist and a 26.5-29.5 inseam. If you would like a little extra moving room, the Large regular would be a better fit.

Why did LA Police Gear go away from providing the pocket for the 5.11 knee pads? These were a great pair of pants and just as durable as the other higher priced pants. But now they don't come with the kneepad pocket on the inside?
    1 Answers
we do apologize but yes the knee pad pocket was removed at this time. i will forward this to our design department though to see if i can figure out why this was removed or if this was simply an oversight and can be added back into future productions.
