Happy with quality and craftsmanship of pack
    April 2, 2017
overall happy with product. very well made. very supportive on the back waist straps. stitching craftsmanship and quality of the materials. few openings for water to enter. but with help of dry bags liners or pack cover will help as well.
    Pros:
Quality made, excellent craftsmanship, padded waist straps. Correctly packed takes all pressure off shoulders. Adjustable chest strap, can move low or high. Compression straps
    Cons:
a few openings near back straps and also top removable storage pack. pack is water resistant but if submerged from a fall crossing river, water can enter pack from a few openings on pack

    Unipouch design, light, comfortable
    February 17, 2017
You have the main pouch, a cover pouch, and a few flaps for attaching things to the outside. The hipbelt and shoulder pads are comfortable. You might want to get a protected water bladder if you plan to carry one as your water will be open to the other gear in your bag.
    Pros:
Light, good looking, comfortable hip belt

    Rugged. Basic.
    January 26, 2017
This pack adequately suits my need for a well constructed, comfortable, earth tone, voluminous pack one might require for multi-day hikes. NOTE: Top entry only, no side or belt pockets for snivel gear. Essentially a cross between a FILBE and a sea bag.
    Pros:
Solid construction typical of the LEAF line. Comfortable suspension.
    Cons:
Lacks side access. Lacks air circulating padding channels at user's thoracic contact. Waist belt is nicely padded, but slick (lacks any gear pockets, attachment points).

On the tall version, what size is the hip belt adjustable to?
    1 Answers
Here are the dimensions for a hip belt tagged as MEDIUM which the tall packs seem to be shipping with: From the center of your back to the end of the hip pad is 13 inches. Then the maximum length of the strap ending at the buckle is an additional 10 inches. Add these together and then double it for an absolute maximum waist size of 46 inches. My guess is that MEDIUM hip belt might offer a reasonable fit for a 32 inch up to a 40 inch waistline.

The hip belt is removable, its very similar to the Arcteryx ILBE belt. I purchased the tall pack and it arrived with a men's medium belt.

Does this pack have capabilities to store rifles on the side like other traditional military packs
    5 Answers
No. Modularity because in a single space not be uncomfortable to hold a rifle. Remove and equipment and extra pocket because there is no other a pistol or it can be uncomfortable to think.

Nope. You could maybe do an sbr inside or take a rifle down, but there is no external flap like on the Ilbe. You could tuck the butt of a full length rifle into the external back pocket designed for the sleeping pad and use the compression bungies to retain the gun-I'm not sure how secure that would be.

Storing the rifle on the outside of the pack? Yes if you use use the webbing on the front and put the butt stock of the rifle in the flap area at the base of the front of the pack and then slide your rifle under the bungee cord webbing that you can see in the picture. Is there a side compartment where a rifle could fit. No. Depending on the OAL of your rifle you could fit a rifle in the main storage area if the pack too.

Not on the side but on the rear of the pack. You could also lay the rifle across the top underneath the removable top cover hunting style.
