Pack fits well over plate carrier and hip belt rides slightly higher and does not interfere with accessing duty belt. Arcteryx got it right. Great value for $200.

Good bag for 3 day trips. Quality construction and comfortable to wear with load. Some better webbing attachment points for other pouches would be nice. But for the price can't beat it.
    Pros:
    Quality, lightweight, comfort
    Cons:
Lack of additional pouch attachment options

What size are the Khyber 50 packs (i.e. small, medium, or large for torso length fit)??
    1 Answers
The Khyber 50s are a 28 inch pack so they are considered a tall pack.

It doesn't have any external pockets other than the zip pocket in the removable top. I was able to add some external kifaru pockets as seen in photo. As all things arcteryx It's a light pack but well made. I just bought the 80l too

Kevin, how were you able to add the Kifaru pockets? Are they just held on by the side release buckles on the compression straps?

I just used the compression straps through the webbing on the kifaru pouches. Works pretty well so far. Side pockets are medium size, belt pocket on back is also medium. All the webbing lines up well to attach

    What is the approximate weight?
    2 Answers
Not sure about exact weight. Could be found online. But this is a well made light pack. Much lighter than mystery ranch or kifaru. Not any pockets so I added some kifaru pouches on the outside. Liked it enough I just ordered the 80l for me to use and give the 50l to the wife to use when we go backpacking.

That's a great suggestion on the side pockets. There are plenty of ways to add extra storage to this pack and increase the ease of accessibility when using. Best to think of this as a well made, light, basic pack that has expand-ability. There are also daisy chains running up the shoulders. Plenty of options here for additions if one so chooses.

What size is it? Small, Medium, or Large? Would this fit a size small woman?
    4 Answers
It is a size regular-they have the size breakdown on their website. I doubt this would fit anyone under 5'7 that isn't also somewhat built. I am 5'7" and 170lbs and it barely fits me

Depends what you want to use it for. If you're backing in the woods it's probably the right dive for a small woman. I carry an 80 liter when backpacking. I'm using it to keep necessary gear in my vehicle. If you want something to carry crap around every day it's probably a bit big. The 35 would probably work better or an assault type pack.

Does this pack have any internal Velcro, loops or straps?
    3 Answers
It does not have internal velcro like the khard as the khyber is more of a patrol pack. It does have two strips of webbing tacked at molle standard intervals on each side in the main body of the pack running vertically, and on running horizontally at the very top along with a hanger for a hydration system. These strips are not much but it is enough to hang a pouch in the top to suspend a radio or for organization, kifaru pods can be clipped to the vertical strips to keep them near the top of the pack. Expect about as much internal organization as a comercial backpacking bag, which is absolutely fine because this is meant to be a patrol pack and no a "direct action" style assault pack like the khard.

It has some limited internal loops on either sid almost directly behind where the shoulder straps are, and on the top. There is also a clip located in the center of the interior which looks like it would be handy for hanging a water bladder. Hope this helps!

It doesn't. It has a top and lateral internal MOLE webbing (that is a loop chain running downwards). You can get elastic cord running through the loops as in vanquest med pouches, or get it running from side to side (as used outside of a lot of packs: i.e. Khard).

I intended to write a review for this very purpose: the 50L is excellent for travel. With the brain removed (as a 'personal item' at your seat), the main body of the pack squeaks tolerances as a carry on. I just returned from a trip with 8 flights around and never had an issue. Fits a 737 or A330 overhead like a glove and bigger jets with room to spare. I'm considering buying a second pack as it's truly the best I've had for mixed use international travel (flights, buses, trekking, etc.)
