The 5.11 Aggressor Parka is truly a 3-in-1 system that will keep you comfortable in a number of different weather conditions. Layering is the key to staying comfortable and this parka uses that concept to adapt to changes in the weather. The outer waterproof and breathable shell can be worn separately in cool and wet conditions. The fleece liner which is color matched to the shell can be worn on its own in cool and windy conditions. Worn together you have a full functioning cold weather parka which will protect you against extreme cold. Break out the waterproof and breathable hood and you are covered in blizzard conditions. The side zippers provide quick access to your waist band for concealed carry and ventilation. We’ve included three concealed ID panels, two on the front and one on the back which can be exposed at an emergency scene for clear identification.

The 5.11 Aggressor Parka is loaded with storage. The outer shell has five pockets including our hidden chest document pockets. The document pockets are lined to accommodate our Back-Up-Belt System™ accessories so you can secure a small handgun, handcuffs or other critical items for immediate accessibility. The chest pockets have hook and loop closures. The remaining pockets have YKK zippered closures for extra security. The fleece liner has two zippered hand pockets which are great for keeping your hands warm on those cold days.

Designed to last and take a beating, the 5.11 Aggressor Parka has sealed seams, a durable outer lining, and heavy duty construction using quality fabrics. The fleece liner has heavy duty nylon covering the shoulders and elbows for added durability.

The 5.11 Aggressor Parka jacket uses only quality YKK zippers for all pockets and closures. Prym® snaps are used throughout and our VELCRO® brand closures stay securely closed to keep the cold out. Our waterproof and breathable outer shell material is seam sealed for added protection against extreme wet elements.

    Another 5.11 winner
    Came quickly, great price!
ProsVery warm Removable fleece liner Waterproof (as best I can tell from our recent rain)
ConsThe size is a little off from what I expected. I always need an XL, but this one seems larger than normal. Not quite XXL, but larger than normal XL jackets.

    zippers are getting worse
Zippers keep breaking. Two new coats this year in our team out of six had zippers break. They get worse every year. Next year we will order from Canadian Goose.
    ProsPockets and concept.

    Awesome winter jacket
Very warm jacket. Has a lot of pockets and hood can be zipped into jacket collar if not needed. Water proof so if it rains or snows you'll stay dry. I purchased mine off eBay and got it a lower price but this jacket is just as good quality as a Northface jacket and worth the price.
ProsSuper warm. Lots of pockets. Fleece lining removable. Water proof. Hood can be stored in collar.
    ConsJacket is a bit heavy

    Have had warmer
Really thought this would be warmer for the price. Had I payed full price, I may have sent it back. Seems to be made well, and pockets galore. As others have said, the hand warmer pockets should be slanted, but once you get you hands in them it's good. You just kind of have to fish around for them before you find 'em. It does not come naturally.

Good fitting and very worm parka.
The Aggressor Parker is very good fitting and comfortable to ware. I have worn it in wet and cold weather and staid worm and dry. Being able to remove the outer shell and just use the fleece liner when the temp rises or use the outer shell for a rain coat makes for the perfect outer ware garment. I very happy with the parka, price is what is expected to pay for a well designed and made product.
ProsTrue to fit, water proof, worm, plenty of pockets, very well made.

    Great Coat
Bought just before a cold snap hit Chicago. Really came in handy. Very warm and comfortable to wear.
ProsGreat product from 5.11 & LA Police Gear
ConsNone. Maybe an upgrade to insulate the hood. Otherwise just keep it the way it is.

    Great winter coat
I got this coat for the colder parts of the winter. The other day it was 12 degrees and this coat kept me plenty warm. Well made a little heavy but I can handle that as warm as it is. Great hood setup. No negatives on this coat!

    Thick warm jacket
I went fishing back in January, the day started at 5am. Got on the water on my friends boat and it got colder, probably low 40s but with the wind chill factor and water it felt like it was in the 30s. I also wore a pair of 5.11 tac pants with some thin thermal pants. The jacket helped keep me warm but with lack of movement while fishing a bit of chill got to me. The day never got above mid 50s and over cast. I think if out walking around or a bit of movement I would have been warmer and fine. It held up to the wind as we boated around fishing going at speeds up to 30+ mph. Overall Its a good heavy jacket. Enough pockets.
ProsPretty warm if you arent sitting still, plenty of pockets.
Consthe lining inside the pockets is made of the material where if your hands are dry it catches on hang nails etc.

    5.11 Tactical Parka
This coat is everything as advertised - very warm, very functional and is long enough to cover to mid thigh. However, one star was deducted from this review because the coats is fairly heavy.
ProsLots and lots of pockets including a concealed carry pocket in the front. The front lower zipper does operate so that you can open the front of the coat from the bottom.

This is a nice Coat !
I have another one just like it that is gray but I absolutely had to have the tactical color OD so I could look like the special forces guys on TV. And yes this is exactly why I bought it. However I should also point out that it is the nicest coat/layering system I have ever owned. It also gives me the option of having one for my wife should the need arise as she has no severe cold weather coat of her own. Bought to use this winter however this winter the lowest temp we've seen in Ojai during the day was 72 F! go figure? Randy
ProsExcellent design and workmanship, lots of pockets and the thing is just plain warm without being hot.
ConsI would have liked to get it on sale like my first one which was $99.95. however this coat is worth every cent of $250.

I'm 5'8 180 and can't decide between med and large. North face gear usually has me in large but some other gear runs a bit bigger so med works. Recommendations?
    11 Answers
I believe they run a bit large. I am 5'4 & 148 lbs with a 38 chest. I have a small parka and can still wear a sweatshirt underneath and the parka is still roomy. Hope this helps. I love the parka worth every penny!

They run a little large. I am 5'11", 150 lbs. I wear size small/long uniform shirts. I can wear levels 1 and 2 ECWS, a shirt, a level 3a concealable vest and a stripped down Blackhawk plate carrier with ESAPIs inside a size medium Aggressor parka. With a backpack to hide the plate shape in the back and hunch a bit, and I can (and have) loitered on a street corner without drawing undue suspicion. If you are going to be out for extended periods with lots of base payers, go big. For normal city weather, a medium will square you away.

Go with Large, I bought an extra large with the aggressor so I can wear bodyarmor under the jacket, and I expect to have the jacket long enough that I'll grow into it (get fatter) I'm 5'7" 187 lbs. The large will fit you nicely. I've had a large fleece 5.11 jacket for 6 years now. still looks alright and keeps me warm. I don't really think a medium will fit properly.

For what it's worth, I'm 5'11", 190 and the large fits nicely with just a little extra room. I love the coat. It's 14 degrees here this morning with blowing snow. I've been out in the weather since 0300 and I'm still warm and dry!

I just got the 5.11 Tactical Aggressor Parka in Large. I am 5'08" and closer to 190 lbs. The jacket feels a bit big in the waist area without my ballistic vest. With the ballistic vest and a extra under layer, the large size gives me alot of room to move freely.

I just purchased this parka a few weeks back and with the snow storm that came through this weekend it's getting a workout. I'm about 5'10" and weigh about 198 lbs and got the large. If I were any shorter I would have returned it, it is a good fit but runs a tad on the large size, I would recommend getting the medium, you may be swimming in the large. Hope this helps!

I bought one of these about a month ago. Excellent quality! I'm 6' about 195lbs and ended getting an XL as I like the sleeves a little longer in a parka. This is really two jackets in one and if you remove the inner lining it is a bit large. With the liner in place, it fits perfect. So it depends on whether you live in a cold climate and intend on using the liner. In Texas, I doubt I'll be using the liner much, but on trips to Colorado, the parka will be perfect.

The only question I had was about the color. The "coyote " in the photos looks very light, and not to get hung up on names, but it looks more light tan than brown. I am concerned about it showing dirt, especially the accompanying fleece, which looks very light in color (almost "cream" in the photos). So, are these dark (like brown) or light ? Did 5.11 change dyes recently? Is the jacket worn by the model at the FOB scene (Hesco barriers, berms) the same as the one with the guy standing with his carbine? thanks, anchor

The color is more similar to the last three pictures shown with the model in the FOB scene. it is a darker color then the first few photos shown

Hi Anchor, I received the jacket this week. The coyote tan color on these pictures does confuse a bit. It is a tan color, so it will be creamy depending on the light conditions. From the model pictures, its all the same color but the most accurate shots are the one with the guy in kneeling position beside the fresco barrier. For the fleece, it is a light tan, slightly lighter than the parka itself because of the fleece material. I tried to take picuture of it but the items look darker in real. In the attached photo you will find items to compare color. From left to right: 1-Coyote brown Condor fleece 2-Tactical voodoo coyote brown backpack 3- 511 Parka 4- Light tan shemagh It is light color but I like it and I'm very satisfied with the product. I hope the information will help you! J-F

I can answer your question regarding the colors, but I do not wear any of the gear. I order them for AirScan students. The Coyote brown is not too light I think medium tan is closer for describing. The jacket looks like the one in the picture above, a litle lighter in color, medium tan too. Looks very well made and warm. Not sure about showing dirt. The parka is waterproof, and has a liner. The t-shirts are 100% Polyester so I'm sure it washes well.

It is definitely a coyote tan. It is lighter in color than the Coyote of the Tac-Light Pros, but darker than Khaki.

How will this jacket hold up against -30 or colder degree weather? As a firefighter in Fairbanks Alaska, I need good protection.
    1 Answers
That depends on a lot of things. I'm a pretty slim guy (5'11", ~150 lbs). In uniforms, I normally wear small-long. In order to have enough space to properly layer, I had to get this as a medium. This jacket is a combination of a fleece zip up and a fairly rugged hardshell windbreaker. It is NOT filled with down or thinsulate. I've had this down to about -10 F, and it worked great when used with layers 1 & 2 of the army ECWS system. If you are planning on standing around a lot, you'll definitely want to layer underneath it. The front bottom pockets unzip from the top, which is great for carrying things, not so great to shove your hands into to warm them up, so plan on gloves. I've had the "tactical" version of this coat for three years (the 3-in-1 parka in black, only major difference is in the colors). The zippers and snaps and seams have held up well, even after carrying stupidly large amounts of stuff in the pockets (firearms, mags, radio, GPS, etc.). I ended up picking up this jacket in coyote as an addition to my coat closet rather than a replacement for my still-serviceable 3-in-1 jacket. So, to answer your question, if you are looking for a standalone parka to wear with jeans and a t-shirt down to -30, probably not so much. For something to use as the top layer, or on it's own down to 20 F or so, it's a pretty good option.
