    Great Pack
I've been using this bag for almost three years and it continues to be my favorite light pack. I have used it for every day walking around, travel, and for short camping trips, and it has not disappointed me. The small pockets lining the main compartment have been great for carrying stuff needed when traveling with small kids (baby wipes, hand sanitizer, barf bags, snacks). The hydration pocket can hold the Short Camelbak 100 Ounce Mil-Spec Antidote Reservoir when I go hiking or camping.
ProsSturdy Roomy Multiple attachment points Multiple pockets to organize small gear Rigged for use with a hydration bladder

    Great Bag
I'm a big fan of 511 backpacks. I have the Rush 12, 24, and 72...though I haven't purchased any of them at regular-price. I always wait for a deal of at least 20 percent off before buying. The quality of these bags is really high, and I haven't found any problems with seams, straps, zippers, or buckles upon receiving the bags. The Rush 24 is a great sized bag between the 12 and 72. It depends on what you want to use them for...the 12 and 24 are good for a wide range of uses, including EDC. The 72 is too big for me to use as an EDC, so it's more of a camping/hiking pack. I was unsure about the top admin pocket on the 24 being divided into a left and right side instead of just a single pocket like the 12 or 72, but it seems good and functional for now (I have not had the 24 for long, so I can't say for sure yet). All the colors are great, though I had purchased the 12 in camo and would do otherwise in the future. This is only because I want to use the 12 as an EDC, but I don't want to be walking around in public all the time with a camo backpack. That being said, the camo is a great choice for people without this problem. On a final note...the Rush bags (including the 24) are really great, but you can get a very closely-comparable bag at much less cost from other brands. You can get an LAPG pack that is similar to the 12 and 24 for only 30 bucks! That means you could buy 3 or 4 of those packs for the price of just 1 of the 511 packs...that's something to consider. If money is an issue, go with a cheap lookalike because you can do all the same things with it and you'll like it just as much. I can even see that the SOG Ninja is only 30 bucks...though I have not purchased that pack so don't know anything about it...just that it looks similar to the style of the 511 packs.

    Great Tactical EDC Bag
I was really impressed with the quality of the Rush 24 backpack and it seems that 5.11 Tactical is dedicated to continuously improving this product line. I was so impressed by the quality that I also ordered the Rush Moab 10 over the shoulder bag. I work in a Special Operations environment, but practically use this bag for carrying daily gear from home to vehicle to office. I've not used it in the field, but have one gripe in that there is no dedicated pistol and magazines section in the bag. As a result, I have my firearm in sections along with a ruggedized iPad and Crossfit clothes. I'm sure over time, I'll get things situated to work best for my needs. That being said, I really dig the numerous pouch options and containers that separate sections in the bag. Despite this caveat, I'd highly recommend this bag. The service from LAPG was quick and great too!
ProsHigh Quality, Numerous sections and pouches for a variety of gear. Comfortable to carry. Sturdy construction.
ConsNo dedicated firearm section. No included waist belt.

    5.11 Tactical RUSH 24
I love 5.11 gear. This pack is the perfect size for just about anything. Lots of pockets with different tiers of organizational space. I own two( 1-black, 1-flat dark earth). The black I use for as my edc bag, the FDE I use for hiking and camping. Would recommend for anyone looking for an all around good backpack.

    Awesome bag
Id like to say this is the first 5.11 product I've ever purchased. There were other bags i was looking at as a edc bag and finally settled on this. I've had this bag for about a week so this isn't a real review but so far I love the bag. The organization abilities are phenomenal. The bag itself is a bit heavy coming in at almost 4lbs by itself but the shoulder straps make it easy to catry for long periods. The only thing I can honestly say that I don't like is the top front pouch being divided. I though I could get over it but I does upset me. I feel like I do lose storage ability because of that. But overall it's exactly what I need

Would a 14" tall x 10" wide x 0.5" thick rectangular pad fit in the outside back pouch (where a water bladder can go)? I have a pad of said dimensions that doesn't fit the back of the Rush 12, unless you crush its corners. Hoping it'd fit the Rush 24.

How does this bag fit compaired to the rush 72? I can't find one local to try on. I'm 5'9" 260lbs with a 54" chest the 72 fits great but may be more bag than I need. The 12 is definitely too small for almost can't get it off my back. Looking for a good bag to carry my gear thru airports.
    4 Answers
The Rush24 has adjustable shoulder and chest straps so that really helps. My chest is about the same size, and it's just about perfect for me almost straight out of the package. I am a little over 6' though and have broad shoulders. The 24 is considerably more of a pack than the 12, but I've not compared it to the 72 much.

I have never tried the Rush 72 bag; none the less, I bought the Rush 24 and I love it. I am active LE and i utilize the bag for my daily gear. It's not too big yet there is plenty of space for all my paperwork and my lunch. The overall quality of the bag is superb and thus far has outlasted any previous gear bags I have owned. Size of the bag would only be predicated on the need. The 24 has comfortable straps with plenty of room for adjustment.

It's too big for the Rush 24, it's a little bigger than the bag itself and when i attempted to put it inside, it just started bending and there's no way i would securely get that put in there properly. I would for sure go with the smaller insert for this bag.
