5.11 Tactical Covert Cargo Pants CLOSEOUT
SKU #: CO-511-74290
NOTE FROM LAPG - These pants are far more comfortable than pictures can show. Due to a "peaching" and washing process done to the fabric the 5.11 Covert pants feel like your favorite pair of old worn in pants. These pants make excellent off-duty around town pants.
Low-visibility cargo pants with enough covert storage to replace your garage. Made from comfortable brushed cotton canvas, Covert Cargo Pants feature an adjustable waistband, bartacking, and an understated flat-front design. Front and seat pockets are double-deep, additional concealed front pockets fit a sidearm or two pistol magazines, and low-profile thigh pockets are sized to hold two AR magazines each. Whether you're carrying tackle, tools, or something to keep the peace, you'll look like a regular Joe.
Made of tough, 8.5-oz. 100% cotton peached and washed canvas that becomes increasingly more comfortable over time, the 5.11 Covert Cargo Pants stands up to the rigors of daily work, play and travel. Known for superior comfort, functionality and a relaxed fit, the pants feature a self-adjusting comfort waistband that helps you bend and stretch with ease.
The 5.11 Covert Cargo pant offers anyone who wants a great looking pair of casual pants with some hidden solutions to all of the gear needed for undercover work or the day to day accessories of life.
Rather than place cargo pockets on the exterior of the pant legs, we have hidden the pockets so that the Covert Cargos look like a regular pair of casual pants. They feature a flat front and a total of 16 pockets: two traditional style front pockets, each with interior pockets for magazines or accessories plus two standard rear pockets and two concealed vertical thigh pockets with zippers hidden along the side seams. The large covert cargo pockets on both legs are each capable of carrying 2 30-rd AR15/M4 magazines. While the two small concealed pockets at the waist are capable of carrying two smaller 15 round magazines each. With genuine, locking-flange YKK« zippers and quality PRYM« snaps, this pant is sure to help the user blend in, in almost any environment

Another great pants
Covert cargo pants are they way to go if you want to look casual with lots of pockets and not look like you are wearing baggy cargo pants.

These are my favorite pants for practical wear. Lots of pockets. I am not a spring chicken, just turned 65, but I demand a certain functionality in all of my clothes--long time Alaskan. Only complaint is that zipper pulls tend to come loose after many washings. BTW, wash, then drip dry, otherwise one could find oneself with smaller pants. I carry a S&W .40 daily IWB. These pants are great for carry. I carry 4 double stack pistol mags, 2 in each side pocket located behind the main pockets. I carry daily either a M&P Shield in .40 S&W or a M&P compact in .45 ACP. No problem in terms of a double stack .45 mag in the pocket wells. Photo on right side shows lower pocket partially unzipped to give idea of location. No printing, mags are readily accessible. Front pockets are deep and will carry a lot of . . . stuff. I carry a folding knife as well as the pistol. There are two zippered lower pockets that will handle at least one 30 rnd mag, but not too practical. If I want to carry an AR, I will use the right gear and not worry about hiding a couple of mags in the lower pockets--impractical in my mind. They are comfortable and look fine for casual every day wear. I really like the design of these pants, the waist elastic allows a 40 in waist to wear a 38 in. When the lower pants legs cuff starts to wear, cut off the legs and they make a great pear of shorts, that one can carry a pistol and a good ammo load out without any issues. I wish 5.11 would continue these pants. Yeah, I like these pants.
ProsGood fit, loose, comfortable Elastic is excellent, allows a 38 to be worn up to 40 without any issues. Good price Very practical Great for concealed carry, allows for 2 ea double stack mags in each front secondary zippered pocket
ConsReinforced knees would have made these a better work pant Zipper pulls come loose, need a better system--closed loop at the top of the zipper

Just got a pair of these covert cargo pants and so far they feel good. I like the soft material but noticed that have shrunk just a bit. Will give more information as I wear these pants more often.
ProsGood fit Soft material
ConsShrunk a bit Material gets dirty quick

Good pair of not overtly tactical cargo pants
These pants are comfortable and nicely made. They give you the extra storage capacity of cargo pants without being overtly "tactical." The two cargo pockets on the legs and the two extra pockets behind the standard front pockets all have dividers for smaller objects. Zippers secure the cargo and extra front pockets, and velcro seals the back pockets. They have a tendency to wrinkle and there is no teflon or other protective coating, so you need to be careful about staining. Overall a great pair of pants. I have three pairs in different colors and they've become my go to pair of pants.
ProsComfortable Lots of storage space Dividers in many pockets Zippered pockets and velcro back pockets help secure your gear.
ConsThey are 100% cotton and have a tendency to wrinkle. There's no teflon or other protective coating on these so you have to be careful about staining. I found the cloth pull on the zippers to be a bit long with a tendency to stick out a lot. I trimmed mine in half.

5.11 Covert Cargo Pants
The side zipper pants are a little bit dressier than regular cargo pants and can be worn where those are not considered appropriate.

Comfortable and reliable
These pants are not only very comfortable but hold up to wear and tear and very reliable. The look is good and all the pockets are great for concealing whatever you need to hide out of sight. Defenately recommend.

Great casual look
Love the casual look of these pants. I like the covert cargo pockets but I haven't carried anything heavy in them. Heavy duty cotton wears well.

Excellent pants for covert carry.
My favorite pants. Elastic waistband makes IWB holsters comfortable, and the covert pockets are excellent for extra mags, knife, flashlight, pressure dressing and other critical items without any of them showing.
Pros- Comfortable waistband. - Good looks. - Covert carry pockets are well designed and completely useful.
Cons- Zippers on the covert pockets are a bit weak. You have to be careful not to break them and the thigh pocket zippers generally require two hands to work. - The thigh pockets are a bit too baggy so that a full mag in the inside pouch tends to bang against your knee when moving fast.

5.11 Tactical Covert Cargo Pants 74290
Comfort and Fit are excellent. Have not had them long enough to comment on durability and color/shape retention but expect that to be at least very good.

I've used these tactical pants for work for the past 10 years. They are comfortable and handle the rigors of my work environment. I love the pockets that are closed with zippers so that I don't lose small items. I highly recommend them.

Tiny zipper failed early
I like the cut and fit of these pants and the fact that they don't have bellows pockets like fatigue pants. But the thigh pockets' "self-repairing" zippers are tiny. One failed after a few months of easy use. I had to sew the pocket closed to make it look right so I can keep on wearing the pants. The side pockets also hang too low, making whatever is in them bang against the knees. These pants could be improved greatly by making the side pockets with horizontal instead of vertical zippers (for easier access and the option of leaving the zipper open) and putting good zippers on them. Forget the nylon self-repairing kind. They don't work well, don't last and don't self-repair. Once they fail, they're done. Also make the thigh pockets less deep, at least for a guy who's 5'-8". The on-seam pockets also have the tiny nylon coil zippers. They require two hands to open all the way because the zippers don't work that easily. They also hold their contents right behind the regular front pockets. This makes them less useful, and in fact I don't use them.
ConsBad pockets and zippers (except for the fly).

Do these pants allow for hidden knee pads?
No, theses pants do not have internal knee pad pockets.

These pants in particular do not have an area specifically for hidden knee pads. You may have the room under them for some thin knee pads.. But the only 5.11 pants that would have the hidden knee pad area would be their tactical ones.. The actual tactical pants have that area. Hope this helps!

Sorry no the Covert Cargo do not have the knee pad pockets. I have been wearing them for over 7 years and used them for work and now for competition. I love them. I will buy them until they stop makeing them. I normally buy 3 pairs at a time to replace mine. I have 9 sets of pants

This pants include Diamond Gusseted Crotch design ?
I don't think so. I've worn them several times and have not noticed, however; they are very comfortable and seem to be durable. They remind me of columbia brand pants, but softer feeling material.

No, these trousers do not feature a diamond gusset crotch design. They are, however, cut amply wide at the hips to preclude binding.
