5.11 Tactical Long Reversible High Vis Rain Coat
SKU #: 511-48125
Offering fully waterproof weather protection and ANSI Class III visibility for night time or low light environments, the Long Reversible High Vis Rain Coat is a great value for patrol officers. When temperatures rise or weather abates, a removable lower section shortens this coat to parka length, and a reversible design allows standard patrol duty wear when high vis functionality is not required. Additional features on the Long Hi Vis Coat include pass through pockets for quick access to your bottom layer, integrated badge tabs, and a generous application of 3M™ Scotchlite™ reflective tape for maximum visibility.

MEET MY EXPECTATION
It made me in dry & warm at the stormy day at Northen U.S.A. weather expecially middle of ice windy strom.
ProsIt is nice to seperate upper & lower parts. It is easy to remove the bottom parts before get into a vehicle. I hate set on wet seat while driving.
ConsIf it can get a hat attachment, it would be helpful. When the color was up, the male velcro keep scretch my face. If reversed (female velcro instead of male), it will be better.

Why would you make a rain jacket with no hood? Everything else seems to be ideal for an officer but no hood, come on what a stupid oversight.

Does it has a opening for gun holster ?
It has an open area on both sides to allow weapon access...additionally there are pockets that are part of the openings.

Is this rain coat breathable
It's waterproof, so I wouldn't expect it to be very breathable, but i'll check with other customers to see if they have any feedback regarding breath-ability.

is there also a blue model to this item
I checked 5.11's site for this specific model and typically they would show color options if they had other versions and I can only see black available for this one. 5.11 carries many different models for coats, and I do show that they have a First Responder jacket that comes in Blue. Maybe that was the one you were thinking of? http://www.lapolicegear.com/511-48198.html

Does it come with a hood?
This jacket does not have a hood.

Law enforcement rain coats have never had a hood because no officer would use a hood when they wear their required uniform hat. Most uniform hats would not fit under a hood, plus the department insignia would be covered up. Plus, with a rain cover on the uniform hat, it serves the purpose of shedding rain off your top-knot.

A hood would be great. Some departments like ours does not issue hats for regular uniform. Also, some officers who have to buy their own struggle to pay the prices you are asking. We don't expect them to be free and we don't want to wear something that will fall apart in a week or two. You are selling to cops, not doctors.
