5.11 Tactical 2-Banger Bag
SKU #: 511-56180
A quick, convenient, and modular carryall sized for two AR magazines, the 2-Banger from 5.11 Tactical® keeps you locked and loaded in any situation. Ideally suited for quick-prep or urgent operations, the 2-Banger can replace a full mission pack or active shooter bag to minimize response times without sacrificing performance or tactical capability. The central compartment houses two fully loaded 5.56 magazines with your choice of either a traditional flap or bungee cord cover, while elastic bands and compression straps provide stable and secure retention. A secondary forward-facing dual-zip pocket provides plenty of space for documents, maps, or optics, a concealed pistol compartment at the rear stores a back-up sidearm, and a 3x3 loop patch at the front supports a flag or ID attachment.
*These come with bungee retainers not flaps for AR magazine covers.

Great rifle response bag with some weird quirks
Got this bag to replace a competitor companies bag that wore out. My use is for police rifle response / active shooter. Bag appears well made with good materials. It suits my needs fairly well. Very compact design, stays put and secure. I recommend it if the quirks in the "cons" section are not an issue to you.
ProsPockets hold two 30 round mags securely, food bars, small water bottle and emergency first aid. This is all I need. Three of the four pockets are the right size, well placed and easy to access. Flaps over the magazines can be folded down and secured inside with velcro to speed drawing. Cross-body sling anchors the bag from moving around or getting in the way. Shoulder strap is padded. Loops inside two pockets aid with organization of knives, small flashlights, medical stuff, etc. Appears well made.
ConsNo instructions how to adjust the shoulder strap and cross-body sling (trial and error prevailed). Some small bungee cords are included, but again, no instructions what to do with them. The magazine case flaps cannot be removed, so I have no idea how a bungee system would be used there. There is a mystery cloth and velcro tab inside the magazine pouch (for what?/!). There is a flat mesh panel pouch on the back that I have no idea what one might use it for. Very limited webbing to attach extra pouches. No dedicated water bottle holder.

A great bag for a great price...
I recently bought this bag on sale (...20% off...) and found it to be extremely well made and roomy enough to carry my Glock 20, a Kestrel weather meter, a small hand held radio; along with pens, folding knives, and note pads... The 500 denier material is just right for this small bag and it hangs nicely on the passenger side seat of my beloved Wrangler... This is a great bag with lots of potential for all kinds of uses... It is just the right size for me....

I ride a power chair all day and have large back pack attached to the seat. I have medical issues so I have lots of stuff. Sometimes when weather is real bad and I can't take my chair I needed a tear away bag with medical items. I purchased the 2 banger bang and the quick attached straps and hooked bag on back pack. Now all I have to do is detach the bag and place shoulder carry strap on system. Bag has my medial items needed. This little bag works great. I carry ipod, business cards, inhaler in first compartment. In large compartment I have my insulin test kit and a bag with insulen and needles and my tablet. In back compartment I have a pocket bag with edc items. The mesh pocket on back is were I keep doctor appointments info. If needed I can remove pocket bag with edc items and place pistol and extra mags in test kit pocket and move test kits to mag pocket.
ProsEverything about this bag is a plus! The zippers operate smooth every time even when loaded.
ConsVIETNAM! Would have rated 5 but every time I open bag I see sticker; VIETNAM!

This makes a great bag to supplement my EDC with. I have certain items that I carry with me all the time, this bag can ride in my truck, taking up very little space, and can carry some extra survival items to make sure I can get home.

Perfect for a "GO" bag
This is the perfect size for a go bag. Even though it has retention for 2 AR-15 magazines, more can be placed in the zip up pouches. Everything I was needing in a compact size. Although, like others I was unable to figure out the bungee straps.

I'm confined to a wheelchair and wanted a way to carry not only my billfold and normal items carried in a pocket, but also to carry my licensed handgun. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this bag. It has several pockets that allow me to carry my billfold separate from my handgun and other items. This is a top quality product and it's very well made, I have recommended it to several of my friends.
ProsQuality Options on how it is carried
ConsNo instructions were included, and they should have been to explain how to use some of the less well known features

Everything I need!
Full sized 1911, 2-10 round magazines, my wallet, keys, miniture trauma kit, with room for a lot more! What else do you need? I will probably fit.
ProsSmall, compact, but with lots of room.
ConsWhat do you do with those bungie cords...no instructions!!

Great conceal carry bag
Unlike the other huge and clunky conceal carry bags, this one is the perfect size for me. It is easily big enough to carry a full size pistol (I carry a Glock 22 in the center pouch) and enough for two handcuffs and wallet in the front pouch. The other pouch can easliy carry several pistol magazines or two AR mags. The zippers are butter smooth and you only need one hand to open the zippers. I work as plain plothes security for my church so I wanted a bag that was not obtrusive, but could carry everything I needed to take care of business if I need too. I carry the above handcuffs, wallet, one pistol mag, hand cuff key, 5.11 ATAC A2 flashlight. as well as my Glock 22. You got all your stuff without looking like a prepper.

I’m sorry for the confusion, these come with bungees for securing the mags. I have edited the page to avoid future confusion.

Hello all guys how i can carry several pistol magazines ? i mean pistol (walther)
There are several elastic loops on the inside of both pockets for your pistol mags. You should have no problem finding a place for additional pistol mags inside or outside of the bag.

I've already purchased the bag and it's awesome. Only thing is that it came with some bungee cords and a couple pull tabs that's suppose to be an option for securing the mags and I don't have clue how they tie in. No instructions came with it and the 5.11 website doesn't have any info on it. Can you give me some insight as to how these cords work? Thanks.
unfortunately we are unable to locate where the draw cords attach to either. we would recommend contacting 5.11 directly as they would be able to provide further instruction.

Okay, this video shows how the bungees are attached to a standard 5.11 pouch. Pause the video at 0.33 and you will see a good shot of how the bungee is threaded through the loops and tied off. It doesn't show you how to do it but it does show how it should look when attached properly. The video is in Russian or a similar language so just turn the sound down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VW6HNCDBgc

Is this bag big enough for an iPad and a firearm?
This bag is 7”H x 9.5”L x 3”W so it might fit an Ipad mini but i do not think it would be able to fit a regular sized ipad.

Does the OD Green of the 5.11 2 -Banger Bag (OD Green / Trail color) match the other 5.11 OD Green products? For example, if I wanted to purchase a water bottle pouch to match the 2-Banger Bag, would the 5.11 10x4 pouch in OD match the bag? Thanks so much.
the color we are showing is a bit different and does not match perfectly.

we do show that the colors appear to be a bit different in shading and do not match exactly.
