5.11 Tactical TMT L1
Great sized, bright flashlight with the three modes used the most. I didn't want a bright flashlight with 50 modes on it that will never be used. This has high, low, and strobe. That's all you need. It takes 1 battery and it's not heavy. This TMT L1 has a switch lock that prevents it from turning on in your pocket. The pocket clip is long and it's strong. The bulbs bright and the flashlight is made well. Worth the on sale price point.
ProsEasy to use, reliable, good sized torch, makes you feel all warm and tactical inside, good functionality.
ConsHas a worthless break away lanyard, not made in the USA, has tactical in the brand name.

TMT L1 close to perfect
I got this flashlight for night sailing offshore. We used it in the Annapolis Bermuda race so it was used a lot during the night and was constantly damp from a damp pocket, sea spray etc. The handling of the light is easy enough. I used the "on demand" push button most of the time. The lanyard was handy. I was markedly stronger than the lights the rest of the crew used including some monster size ones. Only complaint is that the lanyard was attached to the frame by a small metal ring. That showed rust stains in less than 4 days and bled some rust color onto the frame. I removed the metal ring entirely and pushed the lanyard thru the hole. All is well. I don't regret it - even at $70.
