Tactical Assault Gear was founded in 2001 by Chris Osman, who is a former U.S Marine and a former Navy SEAL. Since then TAG has taken on a life of its own. TAG started out in a 1,000 square foot retail store with 3 people. Today TAG’s manufacturing facility in San Diego is 23,000 square feet and has more than 120 employees.
To own and use TAG equipment places you amongst a group of a select few who know the difference and quality of a TAG product as compared to anyone else’s in the world. From the materials we choose to use, to the dedicated staff assembling everything we make by hand from start to finish we ensure you are getting the finest products that can be produced.
This level of skill and quality of workmanship is unmatched by anyone. Being here everyday is not just a job, it’s a small family of people who are dedicated to the end users, because we know that our equipment is used everyday by operators around the world in the most in-hospitable environments on the planet. We understand the abuses the equipment must endure so we build it to last.
When it comes to the cost of our equipment, the customer receives more for their money than any other similar product produced in the world. Manufacturing tactical equipment of TAG’s quality and standards is just simply more expensive than using an off shore sweat shop. We do it because the end product is superior in material, strength and durability.

We have never failed to produce the best quality equipment in the world. Last year more than 250 Thousand individual items were hand made and shipped from our facility. Less than 20 have come back for repair or manufacturing defects. TAG is constantly improving its methods of manufacturing, quality of materials and expanding our product line to better serve our customers.
