The M6 LED is very similar to the Pelican M6, but uses a Luxeon I high dome LED for it's light source instead of an incandescent bulb. Advantage: Longer runtimes and no bulb to blow. Disadvantage: A bit dimmer than the incandescent version, but still darn bright!
The body of the light is made of machined aircraft grade aluminum available in either a silver or black finish. The sample reviewed has a black finish. The head of the light, as well as the switch area, has an octagonal shape to prevent it from rolling when set down. The center of the body is checkered for grip. Inside the bezel you will find an aluminum reflector and an LED lamp assembly behind a plastic lens. The light is powered by two 123A lithium batteries. The switch, covered with a red rubber checkered cap, is a clickie and has both momentary and constant on positions, as well as an accidental activation lockout.
