DO NOT DISCONTINUE, BEST TAC PANTS EVER
    August 22, 2014
These are by far the most utilitarian, intelligently designed tac pants I've worn. I'm a personal protection specialist, and the pocket configuration offers storage area for just about any gadget we bodyguards use. As stated in previous ratings, LAPG should listen to its customers and keep production of these pants. It would keep most of us operators happy and LAPG would have quite a lot repeat customers.
    Pros:
Best pocket configuration ever in any brand of tactical pants, very comfortable, good color variety, super price.
    Cons:
    Being discontinued :-(

    July 28, 2014
These are by far my favorite tac pants. I love the blackhawks too but for this price, they can simply not be beaten. They have lasted me many years and i have about 5 pairs. Trying to buy another but now they are on close out???!!! why!!!??

    Love em and Hatem
    July 6, 2014
I am really torn in regards to my opinion on these pants. The design of the pants is great; I love all the pockets which can be used to great effect. What I really like about these pants (other than price and design) is the rip stop material. I have had rip stop clothing before and the material used for these pants does the job. What I don't like about these pants is the poor stitching. When I first got these pants I used them for a weekend firearms training class. By the end of the first day most of the buttons fell off and the stitching was coming undone. Because I liked the design of the pants so much I got needle and thread and sewed things up myself. Four years later (of intermittent use) the zipper is beginning to fail and one of the cargo pockets is coming undone. Because the pants are discontinued, I plan to have the zipper replaced and the pocket resewn. Sorry to find the pants are discontinued because I came to the site today to specifically order two or three pair.
    Pros:
    Design, price, material.
    Cons:
    Poor stitching, pants discontinued.

    Operator Pants
    June 25, 2014
These Operator Pants are great and only wish they weren't discontinued. Particularly like these pant without the elastic strap. I've used these pants for over a year and deployed to the Philippines after last years typhoon.
    Pros:
Lower leg pockets are awesome and can't beat the cost.

Best Pants - still room for improvement or variation
    June 21, 2014
Can't understand why LAPG would discontinue this item. They are the best designed Operator Pants available. Regardless of price. For me, the lower leg pockets are the key difference. There are many reasons this is true but let me share just one that many may be able to relate to. At 6 ft and 200 lbs I'm a close fit in many coach class airline seats. Once seated, forget about retrieving anything from any of the traditional pockets in a pair of pants. Even cargo pockets can be difficult to access. The lower leg pockets are perfect for securing those items you need to put away just before takeoff, and, want to access shortly after takeoff. The only other suggestion I would make would be to offer a version of these without the elastic waistband. Just a personal preference but they used to offer a traditional waistband and they fit great and were extremely comfortable.
    Pros:
Great design features, rugged, hold up well and look good
    Cons:
Not a fan of elastic waistbands

    Bring them back!
    June 19, 2014
I had several pairs of these in Afghanistan, best pants hands down out of MULTIPLE types I went through. You guys need to up production on this style WHILE working you work on the new one. The demand is bigger than you think. Many of us of come here time and time again to order but get turned off because a size isn't in stock. You're losing hundreds to thousands of dollars and repeat customers. Hell, I just popped on to order 2 more and you don't have the size I need. Please bring them back.
    Pros:
Comfort in austere environments. Lower leg pocket. Lite. Perfect trouser for contractor work in Middle East and South East Asia.
    Cons:
Not in stock. Unable to keep up with wide variety of size demands.

BRING THIS ITEM BACK IN STOCK!!
    June 10, 2014
These are the most comfortable, useful, store everything pants I have owned! The pocket dividers inside the cargo pockets are the most useful addition. No other brands under $40. have those features! If you put these back in stock, I will definitely buy more.
    Pros:
Pockets for everything! Dividers inside the cargo pockets are the best feature!
    Cons:
Some operators complained that the zipper doesn't maintain close. I advised them to use a string or paper clip to loop around the zipper handle and top button, to keep the zipper closed. Some use an key ring to do the job. I recommend the paper clip due to it's flexibility and ease of removal without having to undo your entire duty belt when you have to make a fast tactical download! ;-)

    BRING Them Back!
    May 29, 2014
Like the last couple ratings I'm a big fan (for over 5 years). Please don't let this great product die! I own no less than 10 pairs now... I hope I don't need to make them last the rest of my life. I'm a Special Deputy Sheriff with Search & Rescue & Emergency Management. These pants carry my basic equipment needs in comfort.
    Pros:
carry all my EDC and in great comfort! look great! I get comments on where can I get a pair all the time.
    Cons:
    None other then discontined.

They better be coming back soon!!
    May 20, 2014
O.K.!! The merchant says they are coming back in response to a previous review but what does that mean? I refuse to purchase that 5.11 brand because they are overpriced and are not as comfortable. DO NOT mess up a good thing L.A. Police Gear!! I and many others are waiting...and will wait but not forever. Please email me ASAP when you get these going again.
    Pros:
BEST...BEST...BEST!!! for less than $30...they made a great pair of pants for those that can't afford the ridiculous price of Blackhawk or 5.11...these are for the "working man and woman"!
    Cons:
They are not available anymore and could use a winter weight for us up north eh?

    What happened??
    May 17, 2014
These pants were far better quality and had much better durability and flexibility than anything I'd ever bough from the other big sources. I'm puzzled about the decision to discontinue their production. I hope that there are plans to reintroduce them at some point...
    Merchant Response:
These pants will indeed be coming back! :)
    Pros:
cargo pockets, brilliant and useful design; top class internal pocket system.
    Cons:
discontinued... no explanation as to why... :(

    Zippers Fall
    March 29, 2014
I bought two pair of the "old school" & loved them. They lasted a long time before I wore them out. Then I bought four pair of these new ones. No side (waist) adjustment anymore & the zippers WILL NOT STAY ZIPPED. In an eight hour day, I spend time zipping them up literally every 5-10 steps walking. I will not purchase them again.
    Pros:
    Good fabric
    Cons:
    Zippers

Are these pants at all flame retardant for tactical operations involving flash diversionary devices? I see they are 60 cotton 40 polyester. Have they been tested at alll?
    on January 22, 2013

    Answer:
These Operator Pants have not been tested for flame resistance, so we are unaware to what extent, if any, they are flame resistance.

How much bigger does the elastic waist stretch. For example---does a 32'' waist stretch to 33'', 34'', etc?
    on November 26, 2012

    Answer:
These pants measure at the listed size when the elastic is fully stretched out. You should order one waist size larger than you usually wear.

Will there be a MultiCam option available? If not why?
    on April 1, 2013

    Answer:
We have thought about making these pants in a Multicam pattern, but not in the near future. We have not made them yet because the demand for these pants in Multicam is not very high.

I have a couple different versions of your great cargo pants. Seems the older version, which had the wide back pockets that dipped way down to connect with front pockets, also had a wide cargo pocket. This was great, as it fits an iPad! Does the new style fit an iPad in the cargo pocket? Thanks!
    on January 21, 2013

    Answer:
The cargo pocket will not fit a full sized iPad, but it will fit an iPad Mini if desired.

If I purchased two pair of two different waist sizes to try ? If I fit in a 30X32 or a 32X32, can I return the item that does not fit, and buy two to three more pair of the size that does fit? I wear 30X32 in the 511 taclite brand.
    on March 23, 2013

    Answer:
Yes, if you purchase a size that does not fit, you can exchange them for a size that does.
