    Great pants
    September 16, 2014
Compatible with 5.11 pants. I was surprised at the quality and craftsmanship at this price. Very comfortable (see Cons below). I wear these everywhere - on and off work. However, the first thing I did was cut the "ties" at the bottom of the pants legs. There was some loose threads at the pockets - not a problem for me.
    Pros:
price and quality/craftsmanship - considering the price. There has to be more the $22. worth of material in these pants.
    Cons:
The pair (5 pairs) I brought seems to be tighter than the same size purchased from 5.11. I wear 34x30. I tried the LA Police Gear and then the 5.11s. Not uncomfortable tight just tighter. The length was prefect.

    Look Good
    September 14, 2014
I have tried them on but not worn them during any activity. They seem very well made, and have plenty of pockets. Can't wait to wear them. I just couldn't give them 5 stars without having worn them during any strenuous activity.
    Pros:
Seem well made Plenty of pockets

These pants are a great value. They fit just as well as my 5.11 for half the price. They are comfortable, fabric looks durable. I defintely recommend them.

    Best pants on the market
    September 9, 2014
I bought a pair of these to try out several years ago along with a couple pair of 5.11 pants. The material on the 5.11s looks old and worn now even with heavy starch but these pants still look new. My badge carrier and knife clip have worn holes in the 5.11 material but not these. The button popped off about the 2nd time I wore them, as I see in a lot of comments. I put it back on with some heavy thread (your grandmas shoulda taught you how to sew like mine did, comes in handy for sewing yourself up too) haven't had a problem since. When you can buy 2-3 pair of these for the price of the other brands it's a no brainer. The lower leg pockets are great on the range for rifle magazines. They're also some of the most comfortable pants I've ever worn too, very lite. I also highly recommend the shrike pants too.
    Pros:
Price Lots of pockets Durability Comfortable
    Cons:
    That button issue

    Weak button installation
    September 8, 2014
I bought two pairs after reading he reviews. I wore one pair and the button on the right pocket and the main waist button broke day one. I decided to wear the second pair until I fixed the buttons and that pair did the same thing. Whatever button I used it tore off. It left me with two pairs of pants that I can't use.
    Pros:
    Good material
    Cons:
Read above. I haven't had a chance to see any pros.

    Best pants in the business!
    September 5, 2014
I'm a LE firearms instructor and range master for the United States Navy. These pants are by far the most comfortable, versatile, and useful pants that I own bar none!! I've had mine for nearly 5 years now and they haven't failed me yet. I recommend these pants to every LEO, military, and regular "Joe" civilian I meet when asked about clothing. I've also been pushing to make these the preferred uniform pants for our team of instructors. LAPG would do well to listen to their customer base and keep these pants in production. There is a pocket for everything. The lower leg pockets are especially handy since I have to have a quick pocket for spare ammo, tools, or accessories no matter what position I find myself in. Please reconsider your decision to discontinue this most amazing product.
    Pros:
    1. Lower Leg Pocket 2. Value and Quality 3. Versatility. 4. Lightweight
    Cons:
    1. The worst thing about these pants is that they are being discontinued. :-(

DO NOT DISCONTINUE, BEST TAC PANTS EVER
    August 22, 2014
These are by far the most utilitarian, intelligently designed tac pants I've worn. I'm a personal protection specialist, and the pocket configuration offers storage area for just about any gadget we bodyguards use. As stated in previous ratings, LAPG should listen to its customers and keep production of these pants. It would keep most of us operators happy and LAPG would have quite a lot repeat customers.
    Pros:
Best pocket configuration ever in any brand of tactical pants, very comfortable, good color variety, super price.
    Cons:
    Being discontinued :-(

    July 28, 2014
These are by far my favorite tac pants. I love the blackhawks too but for this price, they can simply not be beaten. They have lasted me many years and i have about 5 pairs. Trying to buy another but now they are on close out???!!! why!!!??

    Love em and Hatem
    July 6, 2014
I am really torn in regards to my opinion on these pants. The design of the pants is great; I love all the pockets which can be used to great effect. What I really like about these pants (other than price and design) is the rip stop material. I have had rip stop clothing before and the material used for these pants does the job. What I don't like about these pants is the poor stitching. When I first got these pants I used them for a weekend firearms training class. By the end of the first day most of the buttons fell off and the stitching was coming undone. Because I liked the design of the pants so much I got needle and thread and sewed things up myself. Four years later (of intermittent use) the zipper is beginning to fail and one of the cargo pockets is coming undone. Because the pants are discontinued, I plan to have the zipper replaced and the pocket resewn. Sorry to find the pants are discontinued because I came to the site today to specifically order two or three pair.
    Pros:
    Design, price, material.
    Cons:
    Poor stitching, pants discontinued.

    Operator Pants
    June 25, 2014
These Operator Pants are great and only wish they weren't discontinued. Particularly like these pant without the elastic strap. I've used these pants for over a year and deployed to the Philippines after last years typhoon.
    Pros:
Lower leg pockets are awesome and can't beat the cost.

these are the pants that hooked me on your website. I have bought different brands, and different types. I will continue to check in from time-to-time. When the Operators come back, I will start shopping here again. Mark
    Pros:
leg pockets. Organizer pockets inside the cargo pockets. Waist strap adjusters. Cotton material. Well made for the price. Multiple straps w/ d-rings.

Best Pants - still room for improvement or variation
    June 21, 2014
Can't understand why LAPG would discontinue this item. They are the best designed Operator Pants available. Regardless of price. For me, the lower leg pockets are the key difference. There are many reasons this is true but let me share just one that many may be able to relate to. At 6 ft and 200 lbs I'm a close fit in many coach class airline seats. Once seated, forget about retrieving anything from any of the traditional pockets in a pair of pants. Even cargo pockets can be difficult to access. The lower leg pockets are perfect for securing those items you need to put away just before takeoff, and, want to access shortly after takeoff. The only other suggestion I would make would be to offer a version of these without the elastic waistband. Just a personal preference but they used to offer a traditional waistband and they fit great and were extremely comfortable.
    Pros:
Great design features, rugged, hold up well and look good
    Cons:
Not a fan of elastic waistbands

Are these pants at all flame retardant for tactical operations involving flash diversionary devices? I see they are 60 cotton 40 polyester. Have they been tested at alll?
    on January 22, 2013

    Answer:
These Operator Pants have not been tested for flame resistance, so we are unaware to what extent, if any, they are flame resistance.

How much bigger does the elastic waist stretch. For example---does a 32'' waist stretch to 33'', 34'', etc?
    on November 26, 2012

    Answer:
These pants measure at the listed size when the elastic is fully stretched out. You should order one waist size larger than you usually wear.

Will there be a MultiCam option available? If not why?
    on April 1, 2013

    Answer:
We have thought about making these pants in a Multicam pattern, but not in the near future. We have not made them yet because the demand for these pants in Multicam is not very high.

I have a couple different versions of your great cargo pants. Seems the older version, which had the wide back pockets that dipped way down to connect with front pockets, also had a wide cargo pocket. This was great, as it fits an iPad! Does the new style fit an iPad in the cargo pocket? Thanks!
    on January 21, 2013

    Answer:
The cargo pocket will not fit a full sized iPad, but it will fit an iPad Mini if desired.

If I purchased two pair of two different waist sizes to try ? If I fit in a 30X32 or a 32X32, can I return the item that does not fit, and buy two to three more pair of the size that does fit? I wear 30X32 in the 511 taclite brand.
    on March 23, 2013

    Answer:
Yes, if you purchase a size that does not fit, you can exchange them for a size that does.
