Here is Kit Carson's M16® Every Day Carry (EDC) with our glass filled nylon InterFrame build. Our knife users told us, "We want an affordable work knife that we can give hard use without feeling guilty, and one that won't break us up if we leave it on a job site or drop it in the river."

We heard you. So we set about to make the Z EDC the best value in the work and sport knife world.

That starts with textured glass filled nylon scales and a dual 2CR13 stainless steel liner InterFrame. Assembled with glass filled nylon back spacers and Torx® fasteners, the result is amazingly rigid. Glass filled nylon offers excellent toughness and resistance to solvents. Lubrous washers at the blade pivot and an adjustable pivot screw allow for perfect blade action.

The blade is 8CR15MoV high-carbon stainless steel which gives an ideal combination of toughness and edge-holding ability in a work knife, and also allows easy field-sharpening.

The M16®-10KZ features a dual hollow grind Tanto-style blade with Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated edges similar to our "Big Dog" M16 models. The result is maximum blade strength and ability to saw through cord, webbing, nets or vegetation quickly. It has a black EDP blade, black frame and hardware for a non-flective tactical look.

Of course, it features the Carson Flipper, which speeds opening of the blade and acts as a blade guard when the blade is open.

The real breakthrough was our ability to engineer our patented* AutoLAWKS™ knife safety into all models, which automatically actuates when the blades are open, making these folders into virtual fixed blades when locked.

Add to these features the standard removable stainless steel clothing/gear clip plus the CRKT limited lifetime warranty, and you have one of the truly great knife values of our time.

Great little knive. Good blade stability. The unique locking feature takes a little getting used to, but is very safe. I carry this one at work in a business casual environment. I would recommend this one.

I now have three CRKT knives....best value for what I use them for. Long term durability and performance for a great price. Spent more for others and got less.

This is one of the best knives I own. It is sturdy, low cost and reliable. The clip is a little flimsy, but overall I like the knife. The carson flipper is one of the best features ever added to a folder. I recommend this family of knives for off duty carry for all of my coworkers.

A little smaller than anticipated. Also the double locking feature is a bit much especially with the size. I have known them to have screws loosen up in the clip and handle, although mine has not as of yet. Overall seems to be a pretty good knife for the price.
The price is small because the knives are small.

The M 16 knife is very small. It's sharp, and once opened may be of some service, but holding in my hand unopened, it's not a very inspiring thing. It's a bit difficult to open for me, being as small as it is, and coupled with the double lock, while a nice security feature, makes it annoying to close. I bought it thinking that it was a bit larger (my fault for not getting out a ruler) and was more than a little miffed with myself for that oversight. I'll admit that it was the free Drifter that pushed me into the purchase, and one needs to remember the old adage, there is no such thing as a free lunch. If the M 16 is small, the Drifter is microscopic. The handle lies in my hand from my index finger to my ring finger. It's almost too small to be able to use safely, it seems, being as sharp as it is. Odd that a complaint would include sharpness as an issue, but in this case, it is concern. Perhaps in a teenager's or a woman's hands these knives might make more sense.

Good knife. Only complaint is that it is a little small for me. Still carry it all the time tho!

I got this knife used, and it seemed like new. used and abused it for 3 yrs, and it only dulled a little. I have personally chucked it at trees, sent it throught the washing machine a few times, pried metal, carved plastic/wood, and abused it in EDC for the most part of its 3 years. after all that it still had a fairly smooth action, but a little sharpening, an air compressor, and a few drops of turbine oil made it like new again. probably going to buy another. slim profile and probably greatest pocket folder I've owned.

When I bought this knife it also came with another knife for free. Both of the knives weren't as high quality as some of the other names out there, but I was really happy with what I got for the price. No issues with it so far, seems pretty tough.
Can't stand up to a washer?

A friend of mine who is a fun smith gave me one of these knives. I left it clipped to my pants pocket and it was thrown into our washer. When the load was done washing my wife found pieces of the knife in the washer and pocket of the pants the tip of the knife broke off and fasteners came completely out. I have never sen anything like that. Many of my knives from Swiss army, to SOG have been washed and never had that issue. Celt was contacted and the knife sent in they refused to repair the knife and sited abuse. Apparently I abuse my laundry.
Very sharp but serrations are brittle

This is a very solid knife for the money. EDC for over a year until the serrations broke. Can't complain too much for the money.
    Question: Where is knife made
