This knife is a beast!! It is especially comes in handy with batoning and chopping. I have no problem using this things as a machete. It is well balanced. Some may complain that it is too short but it makes up for shortness with thickness. The 1/4 inch blade gives me the assurance that this will not break even if I have to pry with it. A minor problem is small knife work is more difficult. My only gripe is the sheath. I know some people really adore this sheath but it is way to floppy and the knife is severely difficult to remove. I decided to buy a Hedgehog Leatherworks sheath. It is a bit pricy but I am sincerely satisfied with the quality of the sheath. If you enjoy this knife and hate the sheath I would look them up. Overall amazing knife
•Thick blade •Great balance •Perfect for batoning and chopping
•The sheath is below par •Knife is not made for smaller tasks

Top Notch quality for Medium Notch price.

Not a bargain basement price tag, but dollar for dollar you can't find a better quality knife. Premium Value for middle-of-the-road price line. Look for it in the LA Police Gear "Countdown Deals" section, and when it is featured don't hesitate to order and save, like I did, an additional $10. Look at the numerous video reviews on Youtube and you will see this knife has the multi-tool attributes of a small machete, a camping axe, a pummeling mallet, a skinner, a veggie slicer, and not to mention a Bowie-capable beast defense weapon. 1/4 inch full-length tang construction, and at 14 ounces it is definitely on the hefty weight category, yet it is nimble to handle and beautifully balanced. 5-1/4 inch blade edge and 10.625 inch overall length makes it a full size combat capable knife.
The heavy textured finish mitigates the non-stainless steel metal's exposure to ordinary moisture. Nice Kydex sheath with one-hand thumb activated release design. Removable BKT signature-design handles for aftermarket or custom made options.
Not of stainless steel construction. Factory warning advises to keep oiled and away from sustained moisture. If you don't respect a fine tool in need of preventive care then this might be an issue for you.

    BK2 is a BEAST.

This knife is a tool, not a toy. The scales could be more comfortable, which would be nice if I were sitting on my sofa 'playing' outdoors. A great knife is a back woods must and the BK2 is just that, a rock solid great knife. Belt strap on shealth is my only real concern with this rig. I replaced the strap with a belt clip in less than an hour. The sheath now rides a bit higher, closer to body and feels more secure. LAPG shipped fast and had the best price around. Thanks LAPG
high quality tool good weight distribution/center of gravity well designed for purpose 0.25" blade will hold up to many years of hard use
belt strap on sheath is floppy and provides no support for the handle heavy. If you are looking for a filet knife, this is not for you

    Another Becker
    July 17, 2014
This is my third Becker and I think they are great. I've always been a Ka-Bar fan and they have steeped up their game with the addition of Ethan Becker. I've had other knives that just didn't hold up when tested. I have tested this one beyond what I would normally do.
Thick full tang blade that can hang with the more expensive knives. Can do some chopping if you have to and I had to. The length is legal in Texas so I wear it on my side at times when I'm out because I can lol. Great for backpacking in national parks or where ever you like to tackle the wild.
The sheath is terrible it broke not long after I got it. I plan to have one made.

This is a toughy for sure! I would be very amazed at a report from anyone that they broke this knife....I am not sure that is possible. An excellent addition to a survival gear pack. The versatility of this knife due to its sturdy construction and weight open the possibility up for numerous tasks.

Best Fixed-blade Knife for the Money
    November 15, 2013
Who ever described this knife as a "sharpened pry-bar" was right on the money. Aside from being strong and well balanced, the knife has other great features that I challenge anyone to find in another blade for such a great price. The over all length and weight of the blade is very comfortable. I love the way this knife feels in my hands and I'm not a big guy. I'm 5'10", 220 lbs, and my hands average-to-small for my size. And I did not purchase this knife for me. I purchased it for my wife who loves it! It fits her hands very well for her size, she's 5'5" and has small hands. We put a short lanyard on the knife to help with grip and retention while chopping and have had no issues battoning, chopping, whittling, making feather sticks, striking a Ferro-rod with the spine as well as the notch where the choil would be, bashing using the pommel and using as improvised hammer and pry-bar. My wife is undecided on the handles and understands that different scales for the knife are available. So far we've experienced no grip-issues. We may actually experiment with shaping the handles that come stock on the knife before ordering Mycarda or other. The Kydex sheath fits well and we love the positive lock it provides. The upper part of the sheath is made of Nylon and is flimsy. This flimsiness makes the whole unit's movement on the belt easy, it moves well with the wearer while crouching, climbing, etc, but it is terrible for trying to get the knife in and out of the positive lock. In most cases my wife has to use two-hands to remove the knife which is inconvenient. I can remove it with one hand with moderate difficulty. I will most likely replace it with a Tech-Lok when my wife is ready for it -or- perhaps make a leather sheath for it. We are extremely happy with this knife over all and recommend it to anyone for this great price. I plan on purchasing a second one soon.
Stout and well balanced Versatile - I consider it a tool more than just a knife Positive lock Kydex Sheath Well-sharpened factory-edge, ready to go out-of-the-box Ergonomic with a great in-hand feel Phenomenal Price
Flimsy nylon upper sheath Our knife did not come with the allen/hex wrench needed to remove/replace the handles.

    Beast of a camp knife
    April 7, 2013
I've used this quite a bit since I received it. It's been used for camp and bushcraft chores. It can chop, cut and despite it's thickness can still make feather sticks. Even after all it's use it still hasn't needed sharpened. Just a moment on a strop to make it shave again.

Is the bk2 on the blade stamped or white print?
    on January 23, 2013

The BK2 on the blade is printed on.

By Billy Henderson on January 28, 2013
If it breaks can i return it for a new one or a full refund?
    on January 28, 2013

No, if you break your knife we cannot replace or refund it.

By Chris on May 22, 2013
The newer models have the lasered writing on the blade. Do the ones you have in stock are they printed or lasered?
    on May 22, 2013

The BK2 Knives we have in stock appear to be either laser etched or engraves. The writing is not simply printed on.
