Q&A

These are made in China . I wear a size 13 men's US. I've tried 02 pair of gx8 with goretex and side zippers from another retail form and both pairs have failed my water test consisting of weighing down boots in 5" of water. Both have leaked significantly within 20 minutes Both pairs were marked lot number 60663 with a mfg date of 03/2014. I contacted Bates and they suspect a goretex "bootie" problem. I don't trust the goretex name. . What is your lot number and date of mfg? Can I return them if they don't pass my water test? I will use them as a motorcycle boot
I went down to our warehouse and checked several of the 2268 boots that we have in stock, and they all had the same 60663 lot number and 3/2014 manufacture date that you mentioned. If you do decide to purchase these boots and they don't appear to be waterproof, you can return them for a refund or store credit, depending on how long after the purchase date you return them. If they are not waterproof, this is considered a manufacturer defect since Bates advertises them as being waterproof.
Does these boots have a safety toe??
These Bates boots do not have a safety toe.
I wear the 5.11 ATAC boot in a size 12, do these boots size the same or do I need to order a size smaller/larger to fit properly?
These are similar sized as the 5.11
Do these boots have a non-marking sole?
I contacted Bates regarding this and they couldn't say for certain that these were non-marking soles. They do not that it is a slip resistant sole. I'm sorry i couldn't find a better answer for you than that.
How much do the weigh?
Depends on the size you are getting but range from 2-4lbs
Never owned a side zip boot before. Easy on, easy off or do you still need to adjust the laces?
They are easy on and off once they are broken in with just the side zipper. you may have to adjust the laces for the first few weeks but once fully broken in you should not need to adjust them any more.
