Like the 5.11 Tactical Pant, the sturdy, seven-pocket 5.11 Academy Short is complete with 5.11’s trademark rear slash pockets and utility strap.

Functionality - With a shorter length and a different pocket layout than the 5.11 Tactical Shorts, the pockets on the 5.11 Academy Shorts are strong and roomy. The shorter length provides greater flexibility and movement during vigorous activity. These shorts are great for bicycle patrol range.

Storage - Front pockets of the 5.11 Men’s Academy Shorts are strong and roomy; inverted pleats on the cargo pockets remain flat until needed for a neat, professional appearance. The thigh pockets are arranged to carry cell phones, magazines, or utility knives. The extra deep rear slash pockets are easily accessed and hold extended mags, a baton, or a 15” flashlight. You can also use the utility strap to secure a flashlight or store your ear protection at the range.

Durability - 5.11 Academy Shorts utilizes a proprietary weave that binds in on itself to prevent unraveling. For added durability, the magazine/cell phone pocket and corners of the slash pockets are lined with Cordura® nylon. The double reinforced seat provides enhanced abrasion protection. Double and triple-needle construction is utilized throughout along with forty-five bartacks in high-stress areas.
