    Great Pads, Poor Integration
    July 10, 2015
When I bought the multicam TDU pants for airsoft, I was excited to see how 5.11 made the system. After installing the pads, I put the pants on. Whilst I ordered the correct inseam length, the top of the pads only touched the very bottom of my knee. Maybe 1mm of coverage. Obviously, this issue could be solved by pulling the knees up, but that leaves tons of slack on the thighs. Maybe, someone who orders undersized inseams might have better success with the pads, but then the pants will too short. The idea is nice, but a one size fits all concept does work in this case unless 5.11 would integrate an adjustment system a la Crye.
    Pros:
    Great idea
    Cons:
    Poor design

A little on the thin side but they are for light duty and not to noticeable when worn. If you're going to be crushing your knees you will most likely be wearing ones outside the pant, thicker and possibly a hard shell.

    Does the job well

The 5.11 knee pads fits inside my trousers well and with a bit of work making them soft they don't show up. very useful when you're kneeling!
    Pros:
fit in the pockets in your 5.11 trousers
    Cons:
need a little working in not to stand out

    Great Kneepads
    August 23, 2014
Kneepads are very durable. Mine have lasted about 1.5 years of being used at least 2 weekends a month and sometimes 4 weekends a month. They do start to crack at the bend-point after a lot of use, but the fabric keeps them from falling apart. I just ordered another pair, and I think I am going to double them up with the old ones to get more padding as I am getting pain in my knees due to my age.
    Pros:
Durable. good cushioning, light duty use, lasts long time.
    Cons:
I wish they made one thicker and/or with more cushioning due to my age and pain in my knees.

    5.11 knee pads
    August 18, 2014
They are a good bang for the buck but they are thin. This is either a pro or con depending on your intended use.
    Pros:
Thin. Don't look like "knee pads" when I served in your pant knee pad pockets.
    Cons:
Thin. They don't provide much knee protection on gravel. Might be able to double them up. Using glue to keep them together....

    Concept good, Application not
    August 30, 2013
Got these thinking they would be compact enough to go in a grab bag and to use if necessary, instead of having the big bulky knee pads with straps that fit over the knee. My fault for not checking the pants knee compartment area before I ordered. Get your inseam right. Had to hem the pants because they where a too long(I'm 5'10", supplier had 36x32, had to cut off 4 inches) . The TOP of the knee compartment is now at the bottom of my knee cap; the pads cover my shins. They just aren't going work. even at 36x30, the knee compartment will barely start to cover the bottom 2 inches of the knee cap. Just my 2 cents. On a side note - the 5.11 taclite pants are great. There is even a you tube video on a torture test they were put through - sold me on the pants.
    Pros:
    Good concept Not bulky
    Cons:
Field application did not work for me

    Thin but effective

These work well for light range use or everyday duty use if you're occasionally kneeling. Thin pads cushion the blow of hitting pavement. These pads will fit well in LAPG brand pants.

They do what they are supposed to do. A light pad with "some" protection. For $12 not too bad at all.

Review for 5.11 Tactical Pant Knee Pads

These work great. During training I was on my knees on crushed rocks and gravel, these kept my knees happy (for what it's wort I weigh 215lbs). If you are going to be on your knees all day, or falling/jumping on to your knees you may want more protection, but for their intended purpose they are great. They do not encumber movement, you don't really know that they are there until you need them.

Great padding but won't stay in place
    November 11, 2012
Knee pad is made of good quality materials but if you are standing and sitting alot, it won't stay centered at the knee - it shifts to one side or the other within the pocket. The pocket is snug which is good but makes moving the knee pad from the outside very difficult to do.
