Had similar problems with 3 of them purchased from the State Bid authorized store. Mainly because it used AA batteries instead of expensive CR123As. They exchanged it twice third time I used the credit towards a Streamlight LED conversion kit for my old incandescent rechargeable. Don't have strobe or high-low, but 100% of the time it works. If you are planning on using this for duty test it thoroughly before you put your life or another's on the line. Maybe just got a bad lot of switches or emitters, but 3 in a row plus shipping or finding someone going 6hours away for a class was a pain.
    Pros:
Uses AA batteries. Bright when it works.
    Cons:
Not reliable will not work ,100% or even 75% of the time. For the price better lights are available both for less and higher price. If I had received it as a freebie with purçhase 5.11 pants or shirts I still would not stake lives on it. I retired after starting Patrol I'm 1977 retired in 2009, going back to 2 D cell Everready lights not that bright but they worked.

Lots of light from a little lite.

Great concentrated light beam. Not a completely white beam but close. Wish I had this lite when I was at the P.D. Compact size and that it runs on AA batteries are a big plus.
    Pros:
Size. Amount of light. Common size batteries. (AA) multiple modes.
    Cons:
    None

    Major Disappointment
    November 5, 2013
worked ok for a few weeks, then would only come on with repeated attempts, but when called on in a life and death emergency it would not work at all....had to use a borrowed light from a fire fighter...came on all by its self 2 hours later that night! now I press the button and it comes on some hours later and will not change modes or come back on when switched off... no reliability, DO NOT use for duty!!
    Pros:
    looks
    Cons:
    low end junk
